Rhodope Mountains episode 02 | Ortsevo Village

Our second day of this adventure in the Rhodopes began early in the morning. It was still dark. The idea was that we would be able to enjoy the sunrise and then go down to Ortsevo village. So we did but after the sun rose I felt so sleepy that I took a nap right on the lawn. Fortunately, I can sleep in all kinds of places without any problem. In the meantime my friends kept shooting.
After that we went to the universal store in the centre of the village. This is a place for meetings where you can buy basic necessities. You can meet and talk to people who live here. We had coffee and relaxed. We met Musa who has a caravan which he has successfully transformed into a warm and very pleasant room for guests. We basked in the sun and enjoyed the view. This village is really very beautiful and peaceful.
We waited for a friend of ours to arrive from Sofia. According to the plan we were supposed to set off together the previous day. Plans sometimes happen to change ... he arrived on the second day by car. This changed the whole journey very much, after all the idea was to hike in the mountains.
Unexpected changes are quite often for the better. We came across great places in the Rhodopes, we avoided heavy rain and the risk of our tents getting soaked. This is only a small part of the advantages.
