Not really surprised that no one went after Zadorov after he ran over Stu. Brutal.

This one is shocking enough to be a bit of a concern.

Zadorov did get a bit of a bump. And to be fair, he's an absolute unit. But I agree. Back when Darnell was still trying to prove himself, he would have squared up. I miss that grit and emotion from Darnell. But I don't miss his old defensive play, so it's a bit of a trade off

@@roberjohnsmith Nurse wasn't on the ice at the time, and Zadorov would have destroyed Bouchard or Kulak. Going after him later made no sense, we were winning on the score sheet and giving Boston momentum could give them the advantage needed to get back into the game.

@davecarpenter692 I totally agree. I'm just saying as a fact, I haven't seen that same grit that j used to see in a younger Darnell. That being said, I like what I'm seeing with the new and improved, defensive minded Darnell.. maybe it's a sign of him using his facilities more, instead of making up for a lack of play ability with brute force.

I've been loving Stu on the Oil. He's still a relatively young goalie and he's yet to peak. He'll be one of the better goalies in the league before long and we'll see a modern-day dynasty in Edmonton with a lot of deep playoff runs to come. Just wait until there's competition in the crease from Olly Rodrigue!

The lineups are now getting into their groove. If Arvi can stay healthy and on 2nd line with Leon and Podz, the Hyman/Skinner/Henrique line can stay together, they can dominate any 2nd and 3rd line in the league.

I think it’s wrong to assume that they weren’t working hard at the beginning of the season, there were a number of new players and it takes time for each individual to learn the new chemistry between line mates. It probably has something to do with mirror neurons and other quantum and psychological effects, and given the fast paced nature of hockey, these aspects are even more pronounced.

Still feeling awful and still waiting on eye surgery so personal comments will be limited.
When is a Shutout NOT a Shutout? When Nikita Zadorov using a dangerous line runs over your goalie Stuart Skinner who's back of his head hit the net/crossbar. The back of the head isn't protected almost at all so automatic Concussion Protocol and in went Pickard who didn't take a shot during the 5 minutes he was on. Stu came back and played the remainder of the night lights out but still a 1.000 Save %age that is NOT a Shutout.
From the stats: Oilers really outshot Boston (39 to 26), hit a lot less (though more than normal) (18 to 45), won more faceoffs (27 to 20), scored on 1 of 3 PP chances while keeping Boston from scoring on their 2 PP opportunities (so PK 100%). Oilers took fewer penalties, had one more Giveaway, 2 more Takeaways, and 1 less Blocked Shot.
This was a chippy affair. Perry and Frederic got into a fight in the 2nd where Frederic took a roughing penalty as well (served by Oliver Wahlstrom) and that was the PP the Oilers scored on.
Rico potted two. Connor finally scored (the PP goal assisted by Nuge) and Arvidsson got the Empty Netter (assist to Kulak who also assisted on the first Rico goal).
Swayman lost another one (his 4th straight) for Boston who have lost 5 in a row. Oilers are the opposite of that having won 4 in a row now.
Oilers face Sid in Pittsburgh next and Bruins go to Tampa Bay to face the Lightning.
    Take care all.

Skinner "run 5 times" (now 6) and there is no response at all. Why not just paint a target and bullseye on our goalies jerseys, because it's open season on running anyone here. Soft as butter in a sauna, all that skill won't be worth Jack S in a playoff game vs a big mean strong skilled team, of which they are about 4-5 of them. Thank Goodness Kane will be back, but that isn't enough. Get some size and mean and grit in an acquired D man, Because they are going to really need one come playoff time. imo)

@davecarpenter692 pacifist beta-male euro- teams dont win cups. If you trace the history of cup winners the average size teams are anomalies.
Oilers are too small, too soft, and too old to win it all. Our window to win WAS the ladt 2 years. Its closed.
P.S.- nobody...NOBODY are scared of the oilers physically. Everyone wants us in the first 3 rounds cuz they all know about our Achilles heel...the inability to inflict our will physically on others. Its the deal breaker.

The playoffs will be the real acid test to determine how good this team is.
If Skinner doesn't self-destruct in the playoffs again this year then maybe the Cup will reside in Edmonton in 2025.

Huge over reaction. Boston is on the way down ready for a rebuild. Don't let this go to your head. Skinner is still not a real goalie. Puck luck is with the Oilers but just like at season start, puck luck can also be totally gone. No toughness on the Oilers to defend their goalie, not good. Sad to see 29 lose the streak. Too much line juggling.
