    Intro: Monolyssa strikes with vengy.
    P.S. Stereolyssa wins in the end, though.

    fuunji (and ichiran) were the first 2 noodle shops i hit up on my first trip to tokyo! i forgot to pull the sliding door behind me at fuunji and totally gave off gaijin vibes!

    Do the shinkansen go by your no.2 spot to take a break, cause i'd be quite happy just sitting there all day if they do?

    • @Lyssakay
      @Lyssakay  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly the shinkansens do not go to shinjuku they only go through Tokyo station. (Which is about a 45 minute train ride from Tokyo station)

    Going to have to try Fuunji, love tsukemen is better than ramen! More chewy noodles and more intense flavour.
    Oh I believe…someone’s correct me if I’m wrong, on top of having a Buddha for temples, Shrines has Torii gates, temple don’t. Sensoji is a temple and has a big gate but no Torii gates. Meiji temple has Torii gates and it’s a shrine.

    Great, now I know some good places to wait for friends in Japan (imagine a country where public seating is so rare you need a youtube guide to find good spots, lol). The only issue left is finding friends in Japan now, I guess.

    This is such valuable information! It's always tricky trying to figure out where you're allowed to "loiter" in a new city.
    Also... At 5:06... Does that say "eggslut"?

    • @joits
      @joits ปีที่แล้ว

      It does. Eggslut is a restaurant from LA that has expanded to a couple of locations, including Japan obviously.

    • @Lyssakay
      @Lyssakay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahah it low key does say eggslut! It’s a popular chain in Tokyo! I left it in cause I thought it would be funny for the people who noticed it

    You say tsukemen being better than ramen is an unpopular opinion, but honestly, that's far from the first time I've heard someone boldly state that opinion.
    Makes me think I need to find a good tsukemen place one day 🤔

    • @Lyssakay
      @Lyssakay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree! I think people who know about Japanese culture prefer tsukemen a lot of the time. However, worldwide ramen is still waaaaay more well known so I guess that’s why I feel like it’s an “unpopular” opinion.
