Probably the first review of the game I've seen that actually engaged and understands the how the game works. I watched a dude whos footage was all gunning down poor trusting jackbox users then complaining that they're getting camped now that they're a bounty target and people actually fight back or hunt them
This needs to be put on steam forums for the game way to many people are complaining about stuff before it's out this gives plenty of information on the game. keep up the great work
It's crazy finding a game reviewer who actually talks about the game in this ecosystem of youtubers instead of just whining about what they don't like and rage baiting or genuinely and literally posting false content like ordinary gamers.
I was still on the fence about this game. i wanted to get it, and all reviews I've seen haven't been great, but now I'm gonna get it and try it for myself.
This game is an adaptation of a anime…Synduality: Noir. The name of the game is named after one of those waifus in the actual anime. She and her drifter are side characters but in that universe they are legendary.
Sorta. Synduality started out as a multimedia project with the Echo of Ada game meant to form the backbone of it. Synduality Noir was meant to promote the game, but the game was delayed from 2023 to this year (likely because they added in the online extraction shooter elements in addition to the single player mode). As a result, Synduality Noir released and finished before Echo of Ada released.
@ That’s very interesting. This might be a niche game and anime but I like it. The game itself has an odd progression system. You don’t even unlock the “story mode” until you’ve done so many mission request. You don’t even unlock the real PVP element at least 10 hrs into the game.😂 Both the anime and game could’ve been a top tier combo. As it is right now it’s fun and enjoyable. Just not something that would appeal to the masses.
I've been surprised at how much the game loop has got its hooks in me. Interesting tension when you don't trust other players that come skidding by you and wave, just like the real world. I was laughing out loud as you described what happens if you don't eject as I've been scared to try it. 19:50 I had a fun moment when some low level player was pestering me and shooting me like they were guarding a loot crate anytime I crept back to check it out. I later ambushed them as they came looking for me, melee swatted them off the pipe we were on, and as they boosted a mile away from me I hit them with a sniper shot and watched them pop and proceeded to loot their preorder Coffin Cradle parts ;)
This game was so much fun. I can just queue up discord and hang out with my boys and not have to worry about getting absolutely annihilated, everyone’s so friendly
Thanks for this review, dude. I just came over from a really negative review and I think you did a much better job at actually breaking the game down and setting the expectations straight. Also appreciate you tying in Division and Tarkov as I'm big into both. Your analogies resonated with me.
You sold me. The cycle was my favorite extraction shooter. Hunt is cool but too pvp focused. I play halo gears and cod for my pvp fix. Synduality sounds like the extraction shooter i always wanted.
Many of the other reviews are just playing the game incorrectly and have taken the route of trying to kill everyone. A key aspect of this game is co-operation and teamwork, if you engage in pvp and kill players it'll put a bounty on your head unless they themselves are PKers. Lots more with combat, also kinetic is good vs cradles and energy is good against enders.
For new players that are getting the battle pass do not take your expensive cradles out til you are experienced there are lots of cradle killers in game atm it puts a big target on your back, if you arent a pvp type person you can still enjoy the game but keep in mind that you can still by off chance be griefed while playing well with friendly players, just know that so long as you are an association member its less likely for you to get destroyed as the PvP seeds are separated from the PvE heavy seeds but still be diligent of your surroundings. If you get shot just run if you can dont try to fight back unless you want to be set into the PvP seeds
This game is actually really good people just have to take there time and read I actually love this game after I died almost 30 times and losing my preorder items permanently
This is probably the only extraction shooter I have ever played where the vast majority of people are actually friendly and work together It looks like they're fixing the broken economy, thank goodness as it was my biggest problem with the current state of the game 2 million for green rarity rabbit (body only)? HELL NAH close to 3-4million for the whole set OH HEEEEELLLL NAAH
@@erikg1494 it's a good time, hopefully they deploy a patch soon as according to their twitter announcements they're going to be making the green gear cheaper or more accessible. Assoc. is also missing its pvp cradle counterpart to black market that gives 20% ballistic resist
@@erikg1494 yeah we desperately need the next patch that brings in the new map and changes the price on cradles even greeen cradles are kind of too pricey and rabbit is way too expensive
thanks for the review, the pvp aspect has been why I've been on the fence of getting it. I hate the dark zone in Division 2 for the same reasons. I might still give this a try.
pvp is always a reality but it's probably the most relaxed game in the genre in that context the vast majority of people are just doing their own thing or doing coop missions
@im50yearsold I just found out there's other stuff you can only get by being an outlaw so I feel everyone is gonna become one just to get that stuff at some point
@ Most people will switch for completion sake, but its moreso a faction thing the "good" guys are mostly fancy energy/beam weapons and the "bad" guys are all crude bullets and etc The early access is lacking associations tower cradle however which is supposed to be the black market counterpart to the Energy resist cradle
thanks for the good detailed review, prolly gonna wait for a sale in spring to get it when i’m sure it’ll be in a bit more of a better spot maybe some better updates to make the single player less annoying, but looks like a good way to spend a day on the weekends here and there. i like that it doesn’t seem like a huge sweat game
I will add, the second map opens up if you complete the first wave of association quests and unlock the T2 / Grade B licence. I think it still puts you in 'softer' instances in the south as I have yet to really encounter anyone really hostile aside one or two people that I typically wind up third partying as they chase someone down, I assume somebody stole somebodies loot or something. It also is a point to note that I think progressing the black market quests far enough will unlock a way back into the old zone, I suspect in the advanced access not many have managed to get that far in that quest line yet.
Fun fact about the preorder Cradle parts: The DAISYOGRE is the Cradle belonging to the main character of the animated series: Synduality Noir. Synduality was meant to be Bandai's big multi-media franchise of this decade but then the game fell into development hell and both seasons of the anime came and went without much fanfare (still a good show, just overshadowed). Alba and Ada, the MCs of the singleplayer campaign of this game show up in the anime as well. The DaisyOgre does have souped up specs compared to all the early-game Cradles but I'm sure after you get to third tier Cradles it should even out. Granted using the DaisyOgre is essentially like painting a target on your back because everyone wants the shiny rare parts lol
Best review of this game I've seen. I actually bought this game before watching this. Your video I think is the most honest and genuine review I've seen of this. Also, I like how you broke down the PVP side of things. It's not as big of a worry as some might think it is.
8ve been 50/50 on whether to buy it or not, other reviews I've seen so far felt biased in a bad way, like not being 100% genuine. I've played tonnes of Tarkov but completely burnt out on it. Will be picking this up now 👍
Thank you, your video convinced me to give this a shot. The waifu robot girl looks great, I hope there are short hair options in the cash shop. Those are my favorite. 🤠
25:00 From watching a streamer play for the first time, the problem is that when you lose your starting mech all of its parts are gone leaving the preorder parts as the only ones available- auto equipping equipping even when you buy replacement newbie parts. This means a new player who wants to save said parts until they've learned the basics has an added task before every run of changing all 3 of their mech's parts every time or risk losing their DLC items by accident.
I wish the pre order bonus was just a skin because its the MC coffin from the anime. The fact its OP (compared to starting gear) is wrong. Its also a game on the discord to kill as many DaisyOgre coffins as you can find. I don't mind there being new guns and coffins in the battle pass but i wish they did it like Hunt Showdown where any non cosmetic things are free for everyone.
Been putting in some hours and im surprised no one has made the comparison that the magus has with pawns from dragons dogma. They continuously learn through each sortie and help keep the journeys less lonely. I've been really enjoying the loop as a cozy extraction shooter. I think with some more qol updates and some more weapons with new enemies and hopefully maybe some more mech customization would be great and take this game a long way. It has good bones it just needs the support to get it to where it should've been which is a little unfortunate
This is really chill game... People are nice, and literally no one camping the extract places( Maybe because battery timer.) Die more form monsters. Or always. I put more hours in the game. Thanks for the video. 🎉
The Forever Winter might be of intrest to you then, it's VERY much early in it's development for being in EA, but it's pure PvE and will stay that way.
I enjoy the game on PS5. It runs really smoothly. I have 65hrs into the early axcess. The game is fun and I like the solo missions honestly it gives a break away from watching your back every min or so lol. Like your review though on it. Early axcess doesn't have everything yet as compared to the full on offical launch and some after looking forward to the new huge map of North and south being combined and others. There's more coming so just collecting things for now.
I don't usually play Extraction Shooters, but it does seems nice and having incentive to have a good behavior and a separate server if you want to PVP, for now I will check it out more revies/wishlist it and get it if it get cheaper or if I get some friends then I can purchase it with them.
The thing with the storie's that it kind of expects you to have watched synduality nori which according to some reviews is a relatively underrated show idk
Pretty sure if you have a bounty on you and someone claims it then you go back to normal standing but idk. I haven't tried it yet, thought i heard that tho, might be wrong.
Hey, I just want to ask how did you get your garage to be in that lighting? My boyfriend's garage is bright and I'm just helping him to look at how to adjust this. Thanks in advance!
I've been getting mixed reviews of this game. Some people hate it and think it's not worth the time and others think it's the a contender for best mecha game of the year. I'll have to look at it myself to really get into it but I saw the anime I will admit it's pretty okay. Nothing spectacular but enough to make me want to play.
im gona play because i like the extraction shooter/base builder games, and console is really dry of those, the only one i remember is VIGOR but htat game is really clunky, yes there are extraction shooters For console like hunt showdown, apex, CoD, etc, but i think is because the term extraction shooter cunfuse a lot of players, i want this kind of games were you go out for resources, and that reflects in your base and progresion not just the go in, die and repeat
Not buying the "social contract" shit. If they didn't want and don't support ganking, they would not put it in. It is in, so it will be used and abused. It's never the deal they sell that ends up being the truth.
The only thing for me is that if you don't start the gun fight, but kill who started shooting you, you get the label of being an unfriendly drifter, and I think that is stupid. Because then any other player can shoot at you, and if they kill you you they don't the bad mark.
- How can I find a wood material ? I can not find anywhere and any box, only have to wait for another player drop them on the ground. - How can I use an EQS scan ?
Wood can be found by the ruined city and on the way ti the agriculture plant. Eqs scan is done on controller at least by holding the button to do ao scan and on the left of the dial is eqs. You can only use it when you've fully scanned someone tho
good over view not many people talk about the punishing part of killing players and being expelled im glad thats in place tbh i just like doing my own thing and so far everyone been really nice hopfully it stay like that when it full releases
@@erikg1494 lost mine on 8th deployment by Ender's. Didn't complain, since I knew what I was getting into. But mein gott 6 incubators swarms on a rainy day 😂😂😂💀💀💀
My main issue currently aside from the insane costs for things including insurance, is how lazy the ultrawide support is. It supports it but doesn't (You get the nice black walls on the side of your screen). I also don't see this going very far if people just end up using the Jack cradle most the time with the time to find the right resources and the limited weight capacity.
The flag system definitely has issues but it's an interesting take on stopping people from hard core pvping constantly. However, I'd counter argue that the PVP doesn't really need to exist in the game at all. In my short run with it the pvp has been a bit so-so, almost an afterthought.
Lineage 2 had a system just like that. U could pvp kill anyone at any time. The penalty for killing someone was harsh. One kill and guards would hunt u down, and players could free attack u. And u dropped 2x the normal amount of gear. To come back u had to burn karma off grinding mobs. I killed 2 ppl while playing. Both being ass hats. I spent a day. Like literally 12h grinding far far off in distant area so i wouldnt be killed. Vibes were great in that game
I was very disappointed this game didn't have a dedicated PvE mode, I heavily dislike PvPvE bs, but if it really works as explained here, I may give it a chance, if not now maybe on a sale, I guess its worth adding to the whislist.
I dumped the entire weekend into this game on ps5. Im about 50 hours in amd the community and most other players are great. My only complaints are. Melee in pvp is way to strong When cooping with someone their needs to be some kind of damage reduction.....me and a guy tried to melee the same enemy and i killed him in one hit.....as a friendly player. When put into the "bounty target lobby" there is alot of pvpv teamup groups farming money without any kind of oversight as well as it being an entire lobby of bounty targets.....they are supposed to be intersperced in normal lobbies i believe
Im also on the fence about this game mainly from the PVP aspect. Knowing you can play mostly alone/coop and a lot of players are friendly seems promising. I just want to drop in, collect loot and extract. Hoping the mech feels good to control.
It's the ONLY pvp extraction shooter I've ever played where the vast majority of players are friendly and will work together. Just always weight your risk reward, don't take your gucci blue rarity pvp set into every run. don't take in gear that you're afraid of losing, the white rarity stuff is free and serviceable, but I always run with the green rarity exploration type with the high carry capacity. The economy during the early access was very broken but they're supposedly making the green rarity gear cheaper/easier to aquire and they already doubled the value of AO crystals so its biggest problems that I had are half way fixed
@@im50yearsold Thanks for the clarification. Also, can you fly the mech? or just jump? It seems like boosting/jumping are the only options given the weight load of the mechs. The gunplay looks solid.
@@DougieFresh93 It's a fun game, but the risk of full loot pvp isn't for everyone. That being said it's the most chill extraction shooter I've played. If you're nice to fellow assoc players they'll be chill to you but there's always a small risk of betrayal
"Its the players fault, they dont know what the game is" to me it seems like an extraction shooter with mechs but with almost no personalization of the main hook of the game, mechs. The game focuses too much on the girls customization, its a paid game with in game purcharses and battle pass, still full of bugs. Like, come on
Yeah, that honestly confuses me. They could have a primary appeal and disgusting amounts of money to be made via MTX for cosmetics for mechs... and they have none of that?
I lost my blue everything, mech, guns, excavator, because i got logged out due to "network issues". Normally itll just log you right back in with no problem, but for some reason it popped up with a new msg and was like oh ur shit outta luck sry and i lost like 200,000 credits worth gear. It was like almost 30hours in so i was able to rebound easily, but man that was so frustrating. I saved the video on PS5 of it happening. To lose everything because the games online was shit was terrible, but the fact i got nothing back was so fkn dumb! They need to figure out a way for people who actually get screwed over to get their stuff back.
The cost for making materials needs to be adjusted. I never use insurance because I can't afford that and the cost to make specific materials to uograde my base. I also think $150k cost to willingly leave the association is a bit excessive. The developer WANTS PK's in order to experience the other portion of their game loop.
The game is fun only bug im kinda annoyed by is that the game randomly decided "hey you like that character you made well too bad were gonna change its appearance out of nowhere"
I've never played extraction shooters since the pvp part of it was a huge no no for me. But seeing how pk is heavily punished and the mecha + girls theme,it seems really promising for me,i'll keep an eye on it
@wolfespaz yup unless you use insurance on your item or load out. It's just the loop in these games, you can go back out and try to get the loot you lost off your dead body or try and track down who killed you. But yes anything you take out and grab while out can be fully lost when you die if you dont make it to the elevator.
You can insure the weapon and excavator as well, however once you get into the blue rarity, you'll have to farm up the rare materials again to craft the new ones

Hey, I just want to ask how did you get your garage to be in that lighting? My boyfriend's garage is bright and I'm just helping him to look at how to adjust this. Thanks in advance!
now this guy is a man of culture. I'll check it out this week
Very Nice the punishment fits the crime.
im gona play because i like the extraction shooter/base builder games, and console is really dry of those, the only one i remember is VIGOR but htat game is really clunky, yes there are extraction shooters For console like hunt showdown, apex, CoD, etc, but i think is because the term extraction shooter cunfuse a lot of players, i want this kind of games were you go out for resources, and that reflects in your base and progresion not just the go in, die and repeat
I loved this anime so I’m hoping the game is good too
This is the best preview I have seen if this. Very informative and gives a good idea of the systems and what they are doing differently in the genre.
I like the game, but I lost all my pre-order armor. I wish you could buy it again by you can't. Fun game.
get far enough into battle pass and you get the blueprints to craft it. Kinda pricey but you can get it back without taking it from another player.
lol lost it on my second run I was like nooooooo
@@erikg1494 lost mine on 8th deployment by Ender's. Didn't complain, since I knew what I was getting into. But mein gott 6 incubators swarms on a rainy day 😂😂😂💀💀💀
@@revis0nedrelived830 I expected some sort of cusion man was I wrong lmao it’s all good tho I’m enjoying it

Thanks for talking Good about the game, I was getting sick of everyone in youtube talking bad about the game BCS they loose their premiun robot
First video I found that wasn’t just trashing it
My main issue currently aside from the insane costs for things including insurance, is how lazy the ultrawide support is. It supports it but doesn't (You get the nice black walls on the side of your screen). I also don't see this going very far if people just end up using the Jack cradle most the time with the time to find the right resources and the limited weight capacity.
Got my birdwatcher plus 1 in 4 hours of gameplay, you can get to this level if you put the effort
yeah the insane costs are awful, it looks like they're making the green gear a lot cheaper though, will be nice when that hits
20:37 bro they messed her up! 😂😂
This has been one of the most entertaining/hilarious reviews of this game I’ve seen.
I dumped the entire weekend into this game on ps5. Im about 50 hours in amd the community and most other players are great. My only complaints are.
Melee in pvp is way to strong
When cooping with someone their needs to be some kind of damage reduction.....me and a guy tried to melee the same enemy and i killed him in one hit.....as a friendly player.
When put into the "bounty target lobby" there is alot of pvpv teamup groups farming money without any kind of oversight as well as it being an entire lobby of bounty targets.....they are supposed to be intersperced in normal lobbies i believe
How to use EQS ?
@
Boosting, Jumping and a sort of quick dodge step are the options.
It's a much slower stompy style of mech game
@@im50yearsold thanks for the feedback. I'm downloading it now.
@@DougieFresh93
It's a fun game, but the risk of full loot pvp isn't for everyone.
That being said it's the most chill extraction shooter I've played. If you're nice to fellow assoc players they'll be chill to you but there's always a small risk of betrayal
I enjoyed the anime so I was looking forward to this but the marketing seems to be non existent. I’m going to check it out
Not m y usual game but it looks cool
This game didn't advertise at all. it makes me worry that the devs don't have long-term confidence in it.
I don't care what this game is about I can't wait for this to come to Xbox
Came for a decent review stayed for the reviewer, ive struck gold and im not telling anyone
Is it possible to hide the magus? I want to buy this game. But that floating chick is super distracting.
I'm fine with the floating chick being there. I'm not fine with her yapping over everything.
At least like a 50% payout of the gear you took out would be reasonable for a dc
i remember playing the cycle in the first beta and it was so good shame it died and went splat
The cost for making materials needs to be adjusted. I never use insurance because I can't afford that and the cost to make specific materials to uograde my base. I also think $150k cost to willingly leave the association is a bit excessive. The developer WANTS PK's in order to experience the other portion of their game loop.
Still think the paid for set of gear getting lost for good does suck alot for all the ones fn up
you already know I'll be leading bandit gangs
The game is fun only bug im kinda annoyed by is that the game randomly decided "hey you like that character you made well too bad were gonna change its appearance out of nowhere"
Do you to buy playstation plus to play this game
I've never played extraction shooters since the pvp part of it was a huge no no for me.
But seeing how pk is heavily punished and the mecha + girls theme,it seems really promising for me,i'll keep an eye on it
I will wait until the next day one patch and bug fixes.
So if you buy stuff with real money and get killed and looted, is it gone forever?
@wolfespaz yup unless you use insurance on your item or load out. It's just the loop in these games, you can go back out and try to get the loot you lost off your dead body or try and track down who killed you. But yes anything you take out and grab while out can be fully lost when you die if you dont make it to the elevator.
agree
The insurance payout covers the cost of the mech. Does not cover the cost to replace the weapons and extractor.
You can insure the weapon and excavator as well, however once you get into the blue rarity, you'll have to farm up the rare materials again to craft the new ones
@@Time_To_Solo I should have mentioned, insuring all the parts will not net you enough to replace everything. This is early game as well.
wasnt this game supposed to be free to play?
I do love the game tho
20:39 bro what did she do to deserve this😂
