Burano owner here. My biggest (and most easily fixed) issue with the camera are the sdi output overlay options, or lack thereof. On the Venice, as well as nearly all Arri, Canon, or RED cameras, there are simple options to have all of your shooting information (Media, Timecode, Framerate, ISO, shutter, etc.) displayed in a "safe area" outside of the image seen through the lens. This is every professionals preferred way of shooting because the information is readily available, but does not impact the frame through the lens. The FX9 lacked this ability, but the Venice has it, and the Burano HAS TO HAVE IT AS WELL. The LCD screen and SDI output (for an onboard monitor, Teradek, etc.) need to be COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT of one another. The home screen is the saving grace of this camera, and puts it right up top with any Alexa body in terms of easy of use and operation. Turning the home screen ON (and thus displaying "The Big 6") should in no way impact the image that is being put out of the SDI or HDMI outputs. The fact that Sony calls this information "unwanted clutter," tells me they did not look at what other models are doing, and did not actually inquire owner/operators as to what they would like to see with SDI/HDMI output options. This information is incredibly relevant and needs to be readily available during shooting, whilst not impacting the frame seen thru the lens. The Big 6 needs to always be displayed for ease of changing the main settings on the camera, and each needs to be handled INDEPENDENTLY. If Sony mimicked exactly what the Alexa does, everything would be perfect.

Nostalgic! I remember when FX6 was released 2 years ago and Alister was doing this exact type of video!

Sometimes I order at the Mexican restaurant a Burano instead of a Burito. Silly me….

What’s needed to effect a loupe mount for us left-eye dominant operators-particularly for shoulder mount use?

The AC control needs to be wireless, enough of this "left side", "rear side" business.
