I can remember being very impressed with Kabiavanska’s singing of Butterfly in London many years ago. I guess because she didn’t make recordings for the major companies she was not as well known as some other sopranos of her era who were certainly no finer.

It is criminal that she only got the respect she deserves from the connoisseurs only and not that mass stardom that far less talented singers got.
