Don't get me wrong, I love him for it but asking Vegeta to work alongside his enemy, change his battle tactics or attitude, or ignore his Saiyan heritage for even a second is going against his nature. Frieza on the other hand tends to play along if need be, or straight up manipulates everyone if he feels he can reap the benefits later.
We did see it one slight instance on Namek when he sided with the earthlings. Remember at that point he was still pretty much the savage that arrived on earth, but I do get what you're meaning as the question remains if he would have sided with them if Kakarot was there on Namek at the time.
