  • The Amur tiger cubs born in Korkeasaari Zoo turned one year old on Sunday 27.8.2023. They have grown a lot, have learned to eat adult food, and can move from room to room and hop on a scale at the request of their keeper.
At around two years old, the tigers will leave their mothers in the wild to go their own way, and in zoos to new enclosures. Korkeasaari Zoo's Amur tigers are part of the EAZA ex-situ conservation programme EEP, which aims to maintain a genetically diverse and healthy enclosure population to safeguard the future of the species.
