Where would you rank early 2000s Utah among non-Power 5 programs all time?

They were are up there with West Virginia, Boise, UCF and TCU as non-P5 schools that were really good for a few years

Not before 2004 auburn tigers but up there with the best non national champions

They are arguably #3 or #4
      1. 2010 Boise State 12-1
      - Ranked #1 in the country in 2010 by FPI, SRS, SP+ and Colley
      - statistically #2 in total offense, #2 in total defense
      - 28.6 average margin of victory
      - 6 games of 45 or more points
      - 4 shutouts
      - 4 Top 25 wins including over the ACC champion
      - went 35-1 in 3 seasons
      - only loss was in OT on the road against #12 Nevada and they missed 3 FGs in this game.
      2. 2010 TCU 14-0
      - back to back undefeated regular seasons
      - back to back #1 defenses in the country
      - back to back Top 10 offenses
      - Recorded 5 shutout wins
      - 3 Top 25 wins including a 40 point road win over #5 Utah
      - beat statistically the best Wisconsin team to ever play the game in the Rose Bowl
      #3 Arguably 2008 Utah
      - Finished as the ONLY undefeated team
      - 4 Top 25 wins, including 2 Top 10 wins, and a road win over Michigan
      - Destroyed #3 Alabama in the Sugar Bowl
#4 Nearly equal to #3 is 2004 Utah
      - 5 wins against the Power 5
      - Nobody came within 13 points of them all season
      - destroyed Big East Champion Pitt in Fiesta Bowl

Eric Sigersmith It’s close. 2004 Auburn played arguably more tougher competition, but 2010 MWC and WAC were no joke and arguably should have played in the national championship long before Oregon...

Legends! Coaches! As a Utah fan since my youth I So much gratitude to you both. It was at that Cal game that my wife let down her guard and fell in love with Utah Utes Football, and Alex Smith. She has been my season ticket companion and ultra die hard fan ever since! Going to our first Rose Bowl this year! Go Utes!

I still wish we could have played Ohio State in 2019 Rose Bowl in Urbans last game.

Thanks for your time here at Utah, Meyer! You'll always be remembered with love. Although, I have to admit, I'm happy we ended up with Whit. I'm excited Meyer went on to do great things. But Whit is as Ute as you get. Two great careers for two great coaches.

I had no idea Aaron Rodgers first snap for Cal was in Rice Eccles.

We may never again see a D-1 college football coach accomplish what Urban Meyer did in 6 years at 3 different schools.

I'm sure he will be at USC eventually

Yep, Urban is a coaching unicorn. One of a kind. Saban is great too, but Urban is just different. Everywhere he went, he exceeded expectations. Ohio State was in turmoil and was under sanctions when he took over. It was supposed to be a five-year rebuilding job to make the program a title contender. Urban won a title in his third year. Heck, he went undefeated in his very first year, but the team couldn't play in a bowl game due to a post-season ban. That kind of turnaround is miraculous, and Urban has done it multiple times.
