Here for my boi Revan. Super shocking twist first time. A lot of past conversation (especially with the council; Vrook specificly) make more sense with the new context.
This year's also the 25th anniversary of the entire 'Resident Evil' video game franchise.
Remember how I thought that I failed at the ending of Rdr, and that I could have saved John... That's really been a shocking ending haha

The plot twist for KOTOR was definitely one of the most shocking gaming moments I've ever experienced. I remember when I first played through that scene my jaw dropped especially when it does the flashback scene revealing the clues they dropped along the way.
The rule of rose happy ending after letting the last boss to kill himself is fucking brilliant
A couple of games with plot twists that made my jaw drop was Master Miller was Liquid Snake in Metal Gear Solid, and in Jak 3, the precursors are actually ottsels.

To me, the best plot twist I ever experienced was in Jade Empire. We made it to the Imperial Palace, defeated Emperor Sun Hai and rescued our dear Master Li... only to be suddenly struck down and killed by him! A game hasn't quite made me drop my jaw since this one.
I have NEVER seen someone comment on JE's plot twist and I am so happy to see this! I remember thinking while fighting through the Imperial Palace, "we already made it to the end? This is pretty disappointing..." I was so glad to be wrong!

I think they should have included that instead of Joker's death, because that's more of a shocking moment than a plot twist
What makes Shepherd’s betrayal more impactful is the soundtrack composed by Hans Zimmer which fit perfectly the sadness of the scene.

I started Halo with 3 and learned about the Flood, and I figured out the original appearance in Combat Evolved. Shocking.
In KOTOR, when I found out I was Revan, and the love interest was tortured to join the dark side, I had switched from being the on the light side and chose the Dark Side of the Force.

Master Miller turning out to be Liquid Snake in the original Metal Gear Solid definitely should have been on this list. For that matter, the fact that Big Boss is alive at the end of MGS 4 should have been on this list as well.

The death of Aerith wasn't a plot twist, it was purposeful punch to the heart that time hasn't fully healed. Even all these years later

- Aunt May dies (Marvel’s Spider-Man)
- Haytham is a Templar (Assassin’s Creed 3)
- Eivor, Sigurd, & Basim are the reincarnations of Odin, Tyr, & Loki (Assassin’s Creed Valhalla)
Did no one else feel like Black zips Cold War’s twist just felt like a rehash of Bioshock’s “Would you kindly” twist? Instead the trigger phrase was “We’ve got a job to do” but they even had flashbacks of every instance of the phrase being used on you

Doom 2016 should've been in honorable mentions, the reveal of the crucible being a sword and Hayden's betrayal was a big plot twist for a lot of people
Hayden still continues to shock us in Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods
What about in Call of duty black ops 2 where David thought that Menendez killed his father but Woods told him that he (Woods) shot him.
Or in Dead Rising 3 where you find out that Annie is actually Katie the daughter of Chuck Greene.
And also that Nick Ramos is the child who is immune to zombie infection.
Or in Batman Arkham city the healthy Joker was Clayface all along.
Or in Batman Arkham origins the Black Mask was Joker all along.
You can name more that weren’t mentioned if you want to.
I would add some more twists to the list, respectively:
- Ace Attorney Trial and Tribulations last trial
- Ghost Trick
- Danganronpa V3 first trial
- 999 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors
- Detroit Become Human (Alice)
Really any Zero Escape or Ace Attorney game. I’d say Investigations 2’s last trial and Virtue’s Last Reward have the most shocking twist villains out of both of the series

Reznov being dead is a lot more impactful than Ghost And Roach's death in my opinion.
I know it wasn’t as big as these were, but finding out the truth of The Dark Lord in DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods - Part Two was pretty wild.
Still not as much as the Dark Lord being revealed to be YOU in Part One
Shepherd's Betrayal was shocking, but what about the revelation that Reznov had been dead the whole time after "Vorkuta" and had sabotaged Mason's brainwashing to kill Dragovich, Kravchenko, and Steiner instead of JFK in BO1?
#1: when you make all the resident evil 4 enemies believe that you're helpless and you don't have a rocket launcher and handcannon with infinite ammo.
One that I remember and still love came from an xbox 360 game named jade empire
You go on this long mission to rescue your master whom you thought had been kidnapped but then it turns out plot twist he betrays you and you actually have to defeat him to beat the game

Concerning the Dead Space Entry it's actually foreshadowed in a very clever way. Basically if you play close attention to the titles of each chapter prior to the reveal specifically the first letter it'll spell out "Nicole is dead."

Joe saving Ellie was not a plot twist, I saw it coming from miles away
And it was the only logical decision from a group that were going to murder and young girl if she agreed to or not. I played the game 3 times before stumbling on to idea on a thread. Felt worse about the lie than saving a girl from a terrorist group.
Wesker being a double agent wasn't really a surprise twist. It is revealed by one of the other STARS team before their death there is a traitor. Seeing that the most of the other STARS members were killed off and the only ones that were left were either playable or support it only left Wesker as the only choice.
I haven’t watched the video yet but I guarantee that “SNAKE! Did you like my sunglasses!?” is on here somewhere lol
I think a big one you missed was the Twisted Metal Black twist that the entire game occurs as a figment of Sweet tooth’s imagination
I feel like the plot twist from Persona 5 Royal at least deserves an honorable mention. What I mean is when we find out that the Kasumi we knew is actually Sumire, her younger sister who's been masking herself as her older sister ever since she died. Dr. Maruki being the final palace ruler is somewhat of a shock but as well but not as much as Kasumi's true identity.

Plot twist, you can go to hell and revive Aeirth from the dead as a ghost character.
There's also Black Ops when you discover Reznov was all in Mason's head. Then Black Ops 2 when Woods is tricked into shooting Mason.
The most shocking twist was that Reven wasn't one of the top 2. That and the Bioshock twist were both on another level. (Also Aeris dying should have been much MUCH higher)
Alys of phantasy star 4 sacrifice herself to protect the main character and her death was more painful because she died and the science can't do shit to save her.

You missed the twist in Wing Commander where your Kilrathi ally and friend was a sleeper agent with planted memories and, when he is reactivated, you have to kill him.

I disagree about the Scott Shelby twist. For the most part, it works. If you go to the scene where he kills Manfred, the camera is away from him when the killing occurs and he synchronizes the death blow with the sounds of clock chimes going off all over the shop. His assistant is not paying attention when all this occurs, so it is doable, though a bit of a stretch, I have to admit.
Aerith's death and John Marston being gunned down weren't in the top 3? WTF?
The Spherimorph wasn't the only thing that I remembered either because I also remember playing as a guy with Sandals, short jeans, big sword and yellow jacket. During one of your lists, I don't remember which one, but that's when I realized it was Tidus my uncle played as in the game. So Tidus and the Spherimorph. Clear indications that it was FF X I played and not any other
BioShock is the 2nd most underrated game ever imo. My dad put me onto it and I was expecting to not like it, but now it's one of my favorite games ever along with Uncharted 2 and Silent Hill 2. I legit cried during the plot twist and it really flipped everything about the game on its head. I wish more people would play it and see how fantastic it really was.

Now you see as I was talking about Final Fantasy X that's an honourable mention for shocking plot twists. I totally forgot about it....or did my uncle get that far? Damn I'm getting old and I'm not remembering my childhood very well. I'm legit 23 this year WTF? I do remember playing an Avatar the Last Airbender game. I even remember a couple of the bosses. Dreadnought and Ultimaton. I know my uncle had trouble beating the latter and of course Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 1 and 2
