    Thank you for sharing your experiences. I remember when we were in Italy four years ago and being so excited that our car rental had been upgraded to an SUV. The excitement was short lived when we got into Rome and found that most of the parking spots were tiny. Everyone was driving a tiny car and zipped around without a care. Us, not so. In addition, when we got home to America, we received a traffic ticket for driving in a restricted zone in Firenze for a few hundred dollars. Oh no! Anyway, I plan on studying traffic signs before we return in March.

      We heard that so many times and it happened to us as well.
      I made a video about it which might help you be prepared before you return, specially when it comes down to the ZTL areas

    Love your videos Fiorella! You are EXCELLENT accomplishing the job as you move fast through them and provide "quick and easy" information. I try to follow other You Tubers doing what you do, but they take FOREVER and their videos are SO SLOW moving, they become quite "boring" very quickly. They "linger" or repeat the same stuff over and over...You do not do that at all! When you show us a house, you move swiftly with your camera. THANK YOU for these gems of information!!!I am an Italian woman from Udine living in Pensylvania. GRAZIE!!!

      Depending on the CCs you might be able to use a car licence

    In France you have 90 days to transfer your licence or you have to do your driver training hours all over again, is it the same in Italy?

    What's the best car to drive considering the narrow streets in some towns?

    • @rossinniandco
      @rossinniandco  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't just take the size of the car into consideration. Having a responsive car with good pull has been more helpful than the size itself.
      Most of the time, most people drive in regular size streets because the historical centres are ZTL (Limited Traffic Zones) areas any way and only people who live there or are delivering something can access them.
      We initially thought that having a 4WD was going to be difficult to get around or park but we haven't had any issues.

    Can you ship an american car there? Or is it cheaper to purchase a car there?

    • @rossinniandco
      @rossinniandco  ปีที่แล้ว

      The issue is not really the price of the car. The issue is being able to get insurance for it if you don't have the appropriate residency papers.
      I believe you can ship a car from the US. No idea how much tax they would charge though and what the process would be to register it

    Thank you for this video. It gave us a lot of information about buying a car.in Italy. It would really help to know how much you paid for insurance on each car because probably most of your viewers would not have a history of driving in Italy. Thank you

    I’m thinking about moving to Italy, but the problem is most of the small towns where I want to live don’t supposedly have a way for me to get to the closest major city

    I am guessing that the letter from the insurance company about our past driving experience will need to be translated? Do you know where would be the best place to do that that would be accepted by the insurance companies in Italy? Great information in this video ... Thank you!

    • @rossinniandco
      @rossinniandco  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I think it would need to be translated and probably sworn.
      Make sure you shop around.
      When the time comes, happy to share the details of our insurance guy with you.

    Very informative video! Thanks a lot!
    I knew that it is complicated and expensive, but a fee of 450 EUR for "transfer of ownership" is really a rip off!
    Sometimes I wonder, how the people in the poorer regions of Italy can afford this.
