I think the reason the Dark Knight trilogy appeals to so many, is because it is a realistic interpretation. You see Batman and The Joker and Bane and none of them have supernatural abilities or powers, and that's what makes it special. It hits closer to home because it is not as far off as other comic heroes.
Thank you Nolan Thank you Ledger Thank you Bale And everyone else involved, my all time favorite trilogy and i got to experience it in my youth/young adulthood. THANK YOU!
Christopher Nolan and his people finally did The Batman and the Bruce Wayne story the proper way, with class, incredible directing & production, outstanding cinematography, great writing and a brilliant cast of outstanding actors. Filmmaking doesn't get any better than this!
I wouldn't say they're fucking it up. We got a realistic take on batman and it was cool I guess. The story was great the emotional attachment was there, but the fighting/gadgets/detective part of batman was not nearly done as good in the Nolan movies. I feel that's where zack Snyder where shine, now we get an comic bookie version of batman. I want to see a 6'4 250lbs badass throw thugs through tables and walls and actually use his utility belt and detective skills
I think that's how Affleck and Snyder are going to show their version of Batman. A bare knuckles brawler, so it should be hopefully a good time watching Batman kick some serious ass..
Canaan B nah i would give depth to the dark knight. The complexities of the morals between the joker and batman made it one of my favourite movies of all time
Few months late, don't know how I missed this post, but here I am. When I said Begins was the deepest, I meant that it went deep enough without going to dark. TDK pushed the boundaries of just being deep and went dark. And plus, I feel Ra's 's motives in Begins to be deep and, dare I say, justifiable. He's not your typical I-want-to-destroy-this-city-just-for-the-heck-of-it type villain. He actually believes his mission is to help society be removing all the filth in Gotham by destroying it. To him, it's like a crusade. A necessary evil. And all the things Ra's said about the League of Shadows carrying out missions like this for thousands of years, it really got me wondering what else they caused in history. Maybe they were the ones who started the Reichstag fire. Maybe they killed JFK. Batman begins is the movie that gets me thinking about it every time I watch it, so maybe it should be "the movie that made me think the most."
+Briar Robbin Agreed. Lotr and Original Star Wars set the standard way too high. Dark Knight Rises fell short of that standard in my opinion which is why I favor those trilogies more. However, this was a fantastic trilogy.
+Huuss Reacts To be honest, Star Wars OT is more iconic and ahead of its time rather than 'well done', LOTR however is just a plain up masterpiece. And I agree with you that Rises lets TDKT down but it provided a perfect ending, in my opinion.
Briar Robbin Well put man. Ya Star Wars for me is better than TDK trilogy because of the fact that it was ahead of its time and really set the standards for future sci-fi movies. LOTR is, just WOW. I do agree with that last point, TDKR ending was FANTASTIC, however the movie as a whole fell short of those high standards. In no means was it a bad or mediocre movie. It was well done, just didn't reach the higher standards that's all. If I had to choose my top trilogies 1. LOTR 2. Star Wars 3. TDKT
Scarecrow challenged Batmans fearlessness. Joker challenged Batmans code and his intellect. Bane challenged Batman physical and mental strength. And Batman beat every last one of them. In my word even though Batman is just only human he is beyond anyone. He has never been broken beyond repair and he even challenged the god named Superman and came out on top.
Mr Js INC The Joker has won in the end of tdk, when batman killed harvey dent to save gordons son. Because the Jokers Intention was to force batman to breake his one rule to kill someone.
The ending when Gordon says, "They know, it was The Batman." And it shows his statue gives me chills. It's so empowering. Makes you feel like after his long journey to become the symbol that the people needed, he finally became the hero they deserved.
Best Batman story ever put to Film. Thank You Mr. Nolan, Mr. Bale, Mr. Caine, Mr. Oldman, Mr. Freeman, Mr. Murphy, and everyone else that worked on these films. This is an epic masterpiece that I can see one day being very important to film, if it isn't yet.
People say these movies are dark and edgy. But whoever says that is completely blind to everything these movies offer. These movies are full of hope, with lessons for everyone to be learned. Sure the situations are dark, the people broken, the air tense, but even with all that hope rises. It’s a beautiful trilogy and should send everyone a message about takin action. I will always love these movies.
Bale is the best batman in my opinion because you learn things from him, things you can relate to real life( Thank Nolan for that). While in Affleck's case, he’s just a good cinematic experience.
@@joshuacarpenter7447 Ben’s Batman is also suppose to be a tortured soul after he has experienced and seen shit in Gotham for 20 years. He became a killer after Robin’s death
@@joshuacarpenter7447 early is not what affleck represents, he was more like a The Dark Knight Returns batman, who, although was ruthless, did not kill! And the comics explicitly shows that!
What a masterful, epic, dramatic, thought provoking trilogy. Breaking the mold of crafting an incredible story to go hand and hand with a comic book. A level of complex story telling usually reserved for other genre's. Christopher Nolan broke the mold, it's too bad it had to come to end, but all things must.
@Gideon CA I remember a "quote" from someone else on another video "You either die The Dark Knight Trilogy or you live long enough to see BvS and Suicide Squad"
Gandalf yes it is; ppl will always find smth they dont like; Rises has still many great, emotional scenes so doesn't matter; everything cannot be perfect , but looking at the bigger picture - yes, this trilogy is a masterpiece. Even Star Wars trilogy has many flaws. Still masterpiece.
Naticzka Kamińska No, it really isn't a masterpiece. BB was pretty forgettable. TDK however was fantastic. But then we were hugely let down by TDKR, which was also pretty forgettable and was riddled with plot holes. The only trilogy I would consider a masterpiece is the lotr trilogy (easily the best trilogy of all time). Each movie was fantastic and they just got better and better. I wouldn't even class SW OT as a masterpiece because of the ewoks in return of the Jedi. But yeah, with people calling this trilogy a masterpiece it just shows how overused that word is. Also imo: LOTR SW OT The godfather TDK
the Godfather is my fav of all time. LOTR - disagree, I didnt even like it&yes, I read the books first, I think LOTR is overrated. As for DKT I respect yr opinion, but I have different one. Mainly coz I think superhero movies are particulary hard to make - the foundations of a superhero stories are too schematic, hackneyed, the same or very similar over&over again . So to make it good let alone great is very hard job yet for me Nolan did smth so original with it& he did fantastic. So we have to agree to disagree. Cheers!
It’s 11:32 PM on a Saturday night as I sit in the Walmart parking lot for the past hour reading all the comments, let me just say this one in particularly get me teary-eyed and I’ve got to put this car in drive because I could sit here all night and read all of this because I care about it that much. Well said everyone…… And if you put the dark Knight down, fuck it go…. Go watch suicide squad 2016 for the 100th time and swear it’s the best,,,, hahaha EVERYTHING BURNS.. Including every other Batman movie Joker movie ever made except for the first to Michael Keaton Did his thing. Got to go People totally think I’m weird in an empty parking lot at Walmart 🃏
The best comic book movie trilogy of all time about the best super hero of all time with one of the best directors of all time with one of the best producers of all time with one of the best musical geniuses of all time it was great.
Thank you Nolan for such great masterpieces. Your movies will pass from one generation to other ones and will live in people`s hearts forever. I wish I could meet you someday and thank you personally.
"As a man, I'm flesh and blood; I can be ignored, I can be destroyed. But as a symbol.... As a symbol, I can be incorruptible. I can be everlasting." Modern marketing in a nutshell.
The Dark Knight trilogy is not simply a collection of three masterpieces forming a cohesive narrative that redefined a genre, instantly became a classic trilogy, broke boundaries and did something that may never be matched in the film industry, but pieces of art that show us the true meaning of our world and the lessons we all must be taught in order to live by good, solid principles every day whilst hoping for a better tomorrow...
I love the dark knight trilogy besides bales voice but I still think Spider-Man 2 is a better movie but i do love these movies don't murder me so I agree
+TooCoolForYou well Spider-Man focuses on how Spider-Man or a real person who was a superhero would deal with everyday life he dark knight focuses on a chaos a psycho killer and man who dresses up as a giant bat their different superhero movies
the best of the best psyco killer who dresses up as a giant Bat? Then Spiderman dresses up like a giant Spider. Dude Batman Begins is enough for you to capture Bruce Wayne.
I think we always forget to mention what a tremendous job Cillian Murphy did with the Scarecrow. His costume may have been a bit dull compared to other versions, but that does not undermine his incredible acting. His role as the Scarecrow was more subtle than Ledger's role or Hardy's role, but all three roles were just perfect. Murphy brought this level of cocky iciness to his role of the scarecrow in Batman begins, but he also transitioned extremely well from well put-together psychiatric doctor to crazed madman roaming the streets. I feel his performance is very under-appreciated. This is probably obviously because his performance is followed by Ledger's brilliant joker, but I still believe Murphy did a wonderful job as well.
I've always felt that the Scarecrow character was somewhat underdeveloped and needless in Batman Begins. Cillian Murphy's performance was great but his character didn't really contribute too much to the film. It felt like he played a really important role at first but if you think about it, you can easily write him off without changing much of the primary plot of Batman Begins. That's never a good sign.
What saddens me the most is the dark Knight rises original strip had heath ledger the joker in it for three force of the movie and it saddens me that I and no one else will ever see that can you imagine Tom Hardy is bane Cillian Murphy as scarecrow and heath ledger as the joker and two face I guess to and cat woman….. she did fine, I guess whatever, ALL IN THE TRILOGY’s FUCKING CLIMAX, I could seriously cry thinking about that loss, Just like I do every time I see heath ledger win the Oscar and he’s not there to except oh God I’m emotional back to the tributes
@@Angyali yesh but we WANT MOAR!!! The ending was awesome, and it was a wise move to just end it then like this but loving the films and the cast and crew and wanting to rewatch it and loving the films and wanting MOAR are two different things
His terribly stiff fighting, that ridiculous voice, never really felt intimidating like batman is suppose to be, and more...Affleck’s was a lot better and more like the comics
These movies will only get better with time. Time will make these even better as younger generations are like "Damn they knew how to direct movies back in the day! I don't want to compare this to anything else but as far as comic book movie adaptations go this is the most original by far. Nolan wanted Batman to be his own man. When I say these as a young boy I was like "Not enough fight scenes." Twelve years later I'm totally in love with it. I don't see how these didn't receive at least one award. These movies revived Batman and made way for the new DC movie universe. I'm sure they would have but these mad people a lot more receptive to Batman.
Only two Oscars were given to this trilogy. Heath Ledger won the Oscar for his portrayal of the Joker, and The Dark Knight also won best sound editing.
No other trilogies besides this one and Lord of the Rings have three movies that I consider great. Other ones like Star Wars, Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, and Captain America have one or two films that are great and the rest are only good. Nolan's trilogy is in exclusive company because it is comprised of three great films.
The Dark Knight Trilogy is one of the greatest movie trilogies of all time. All three movies are in my list of favorite movies. They are definitely up there with the original Star Wars movies and Lord of the Rings when it comes to trilogies.
Josh Vance i totally agree, LOTR trilogy, original star wars trilogy and TDK trilogy are the best 3 IMO, i dont have a particular order bc there so different in there repected styles, like space movie, fantasy and comic book movie, all amazing IMO
Raghav Rangarajan Infinity War and Endgame showed what a cosmic comic event would look like on the big screen. The Batman movies were grounded in reality and almost all mystical elements were gone. You’re comparing things that are aiming at vastly different goals
While you are off being salty, most fans like us will be satisfied knowing that we have received movies like the Dark Knight and Endgame in these two decades
I will not take anything away from marvels fantastic success they started a movie in 2007 called the hawk with the story already written to Captain Marvel it would come out over 15 years later it’s brilliant movie making every movie I’ll 29 million of them link up together and make perfect sense to the story. But…… No Marvel movie even compares to three Christopher Nolan films about Batman 100% well said fax
This is one of the only videos on TH-cam I keep coming back to. It's amazing. Sometimes all I do is just listen to it, it captures all the tones and emotions of the trilogy so expertly and I honestly don't understand how someone had the editing talent to make all the music fit in, all the best lines, all the best shots - it's brilliant.
Batman Begins - An amazing origin story to Batman. This movie is bad ass. People who complain about Bale's voice are idiots. This movie sets a good tone for the trilogy. The Dark Knight - Obviously the best Batman/Comic Book movie ever. Heath Ledger as the joker is gold. This movie is my personal favorite movie of all time. The Dark Knight Rises. Not as good as the last 2, but overall a kick ass movie. Bane is a badass, or at least until the end (Talia's bitch) and a good ending to one of the best damn Trilogies ever.
I remember receiving Batman Begins on DVD for my birthday in ‘07 as a surprise gift from my Uncle. I probably played that disc at least 30 times… I was ecstatic for The Dark Knight in 2008 but my Mom wouldn't let me see it at the time. In January of 2010, she finally let me see it with my dad. Even though I practically knew the entire plot of the film from watching so many clips on TH-cam, it was still one of the best movie experiences Ive had. My dad and I are huge hockey fans/players and upon hearing the hockey pads quote we were both dying in laughter. It was a very special time for me. Two years after that I saw The Dark Knight Rises at 11:59 P.M. July 19, 2012. Ever since the closing chapter, I try to revisit the trilogy at some point each year. Overtime I have became attached to the score, the writing and the acting/directing of these films. This retrospective perfectly wraps everything I love about this trilogy into a nice bow and brings back so many awesome memories from my childhood. Thank you Mr. Nolan for bringing this brilliant character to life in such a fantastic way.
Seriously one of the best trilogies ever, I'm so proud of Christopher Nolan work ethic and determination of redefining what Batman's character is like from the comics. This video is so incredibly well done, great acting, so moving from the soundtracks makes the video even better and very inspirational all the way until the end. Very satisfying trilogy, and as for the haters out there just stop. For those who claim any movie or any trilogy should be perfect, you either have these dreams or in your own fantasy land. Not every movie is going to be perfect, you can always find a problem with a movie regardless how good it is.
That was one epic video, the reason this trilogy it stands out so much is because its more then a superhero movie, it's a gritty crime drama with emotional depth and a deep philosophy of one man's journey to safe his city from the criminals that corrupt it and to let everyone know Batman is symbol of justice and that a hero can be Anyone. The Avengers saved the world they got praised and cheered for, Batman saves a city, his home,Gotham, he gets a metal statue of himself erected in the city..........''A hero can be anyone, even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy’s shoulders to let him know the world hadn’t ended.''
This trilogy is unique, special and just a masterpiece, best film adaptation of Batman at his purest. The music, the atmosphere, the cinematography and the whole feel of the film, dialogue and characters. It’s so Batman to the core and I don’t think we will ever see a Batman/Bruce Wayne as good as this again.
The Dark Knight Rises, despite being less critically acclaimed. I really love the message and symbol theme it represented. People deep down truly long, wish for death because they hate enduring the hardships, responsibilities, and going through mental, physical pain. Bane as a villain represented by Nolan is truly ingenious. Bane challenges what people long for and its easy shortcuts. Bane forces society to go through shit, hardships, making the people suffer mentally and physically to achieve success. To rise against apathy, but his methods of doing that is unethical compared to that of Batman. Batman gives society hope while Bane tortures society. Even with hope, it's still not enough to rise against that of what lies deep down in everybody. Society has to keep continuing to stop bad people, but people don't like that. They don't like taking responsibility to clean their own city. They depend on the Batman because they can't take responsibility, think for themselves, don't want to face the harsh reality. The 3rd movie of the Nolan trilogy comes in full circle. Leaving the clear message metaphorically, near the end of the movie as a reminder to people that only we, the people can change our lives, keeping the peace and order. So long as we endure the hardships and continue to hold onto that will to survive.. Finding the meaning to life, we can overcome anything, even among the greatest of sufferings. We can't keep depending on the Batman, we have to do this ourselves. So in my opinion, the 3 Nolan Batman films are truly among the greatest of all times. No comic hero films can achieve to that level of thinking or deep messages. Well maybe except Persona but thats an anime JRPG game.
Well said. I enjoyed your comment. It is definitely a running motif through the trilogy that Bruce has appointed himself a savior and protector of Gotham when the people weren’t even willing to work and sacrifice to save themselves / their City. It’s clear to me that Bruce’s love for Gotham came out of loyalty to his Father and he simply picked up that torch - and carried it not as his Father had - through philanthropy and by example- but in a way that gave Bruce what he himself needed too - an outlet. What is less acknowledged is the fact that Bruce is not Batman entirely for Gotham’s sake even though he convinces himself he is. Batman is the personification of his childhood trauma playing out into the real world instead of festering on the inside. Batman is a coping mechanism and a symptom of his trauma and unresolved grief and survivor’s guilt for not dying with his parents especially since he was “to blame”. The toll on his body, soul and spirit from being Batman is Bruce’s self-imposed punishment and atonement. This pattern is shown again when Alfred laments that Bruce never moved on to another woman after Rachel’s death and Bruce replies that Rachel wasn’t there to be able to move on so how could he? Bruce ties himself to the ghosts of those he loves, putting a hard stop to pursuing his own life happiness instead pursuing his loved ones’ goals. That is Bruce’s arc in this trilogy - he finally learns how to best honor the lives of those he’s lost - by living his own and not feeling guilty for doing so. Very powerful lesson indeed. That is how Nolan’s Bruce Wayne is able to leave Batman AND Gotham behind at the end of Rises - because he resolves the trauma of believing he was responsible for the deaths of the two people he loved most in the world. Even if he did still believe himself to be responsible a little, he forgave himself. And he realized he could live his life away from Gotham, free of the obligation of the Wayne Legacy of self-sacrifice in service to Gotham. This Trilogy was about a man moving past his demons and putting himself on a path to discover who he could be free to become if he only chose to give up the past and look forward into his future. Truly inspiring and excellent craftsmanship on the Nolan Brothers’ and Goyer’s part; but I think we can all agree this was Christopher Nolan’s vision most of all. Kind of interesting to note that Nolan’s Inception was also about the protagonist (Cobb) not coping with the deep grief he felt losing his wife in a healthy way. Maybe a bit of a recurring theme for Nolan. Powerful theme also exemplified by the movie Gravity.
One of the greatest movie trilogies of all time and three of the greatest superhero movies ever made. What elevates them above great movies into the legendary category is that they are all grounded in realism. There are no "metahumans" in sight and the mythology behind the villains is more realistic. Take for example the Lazarus Pit. In the comics the Pit contains a liquid that can give the gift of immortality but in its appearance in The Dark Knight Rises it is portrayed as a prison in an unknown country in which only Talia Al Gul and Bruce Wayne were able to escape from. Christian Bale, raspy bat voice aside, is outstanding as Bruce Wayne/Batman and all of the villains used are incredible, with the late Heath Ledger's Oscar winning performance as the Joker one of the greatest portrayals of a villain the world has ever seen. Christopher Nolan really saved the Batman franchise after the Joel Schumacher films weren't well received, leaving the character stuck in limbo until Nolan's trilogy elevated him into greatness.
There are so many layers to this trilogy that it doesn’t even feel like a film trilogy. It feels like one consecutive story, like the Arkham Games It’s phenomenal
Major credit to Hans Zimmer for making this incredible soundtrack. I actually saw Hans Zimmer perform live, and he played a lot of these tunes in this video, incredible to hear, just amazing! The Christopher Nolan/Hans Zimmer duo is a once in a lifetime duo!
The story of the Dark Knight trilogy is enough to be told for generations. It’s story is rememberable, almost like a classic story like Peter Pan. The story starts with a beginning, and it has an inevitable end. The quotes and lines from the film are like something out of a fable. The Dark Knight trilogy will always be remembered.. “You see only one end to your Journey” - Alfred Pennywise
The only thing that could have made this any better in my opinion would have been if they included parts of Batman's dialogue with Gordon and his speech at the end of the Dark Knight, and also Bruce's father asking "why do we fall?"
Surely the greatest trilogy in cinema history....I am greatful I witnessed it all! Chris Nolan has inspired many with this and hans zimmer has provided flawless music. 9.5/10
I was skeptical when I first saw the trailer of Batman Begins. I was not disappointed after the movie. The whole trilogy was awesome! Christopher Nolan, thanks!
Batman 8/10 Batman Returns 6.5/10 Batman Forever 6/10 Batman & Robin 1/10 Batman Begins 10/10 The Dark Knight 10/10 The Dark Knight Rises 9.5/10 IMO: Batman Begins is the most comic accurate batman movie so far
These films...they have gotten me through some tough times. The personal connection you have to a film is a truly wonderful thing. This tribute...I have been coming back to this video for years. I thank you.
This Trilogy, the score, the portrayal!!! It set a new era. I am saying this in 2019. This is still and will always be close to my heart!!! Thank you each and everyone involved in constructing and making this beautiful masterpiece!!! ..and thank you so much for editing and making a remarkable video!!!
I cannot describe properly this video. you have taken some of the most impressive scenes in all cinematography in just one video. Steven Thomas, i can't thank you enough for what you have done for TH-cam.
"The idea was to be a symbol. Batman could be anybody, that was the point." Spectacular job on this compilation. This and mederecords dark knight video are the best I've seen
I love this trilogy so much, I can't explain it fully. It created so much thought-provoking images and quotes with only three movies, it will be studied in the future in schools.
Each time I re-watch the dark knight’s ending scene it leaves me speechless. This movie has EVERYTHING! From the action sequences to the drama and psychological messages. I am absolutely astonished by what Nolan and his crew had achieved. In comparison to Endgame, which was rather disappointing, TDK does not focus on being a box-office movie. Instead, it tries to showcase how deep the development in the characters can be by making them suffer things which the audience can relate to. This realism in a sci-fi context is what I like most about this trilogy. The MCU lacks this human side and sometimes it feels too forced. Apart from that, absolutely loved the video! Great work!
Dont you just love hose fine epiphany moments.. Depicting the life of a renegade leader from different vantage points, yet to deliver this fantastic cinematic trilogy it requires a collective team effort. Props to Steven Thomas for compiling this epic extended trailer in such a concise sequence.
Batman Begins- Changed the way people saw reboots and how superhero movies are rebooted. It revived the people's love in Batman after the atrocity, "Batman and Robin." It's also just a badass movie. The Dark Knight- The best superhero movie to this day. Heath Ledger's Joker is one of the greatest villains of all time and he won an oscar for his performance. The Dark Knight Rises- The first "third sequel" in a superhero movie that was great. It surpasses Begins and is as good as "The Dark Knight." It allowed the trilogy to be consistently good and it provides the perfect/monumental end to this brilliant franchise. P.S. Bane = definition of Badass These are the achievements of *The Dark Knight Trilogy* and the reasons why it is not only the BEST superhero trilogy, but also the one of the best trilogies. Period.
Minh Quan Neeson's Ra's al Ghul was actually one of my favorites. The way he sounds so calm, charismatic, and filled with malice at the same time. I also like how he's antithesis for Thomas Wayne by being a father figure for Bruce.
Minh Quan I actually prefer Bane over Ra's. For me, Bane and Joker are neck and neck because Bane systematically destroys everything Batman fought for. Bane sets up a corrupt judicial system and runs/ruins the city through fear, which is what Bruce stopped in BB. He also pulls Gotham into complete chaos and frees every criminal Harvey put away, which is what Batman tries to stop in TDK. What makes it worse is that Bane is doing all of this with Wayne tech. Bane is also a dark reflection of Batman. He's what Batman would be if Bruce was completely consumed by his pain. This is made very apparent when it's revealed that Bruce escaped the Pit, but Bane didn't.
Batman Begins - It’s not who I am under the mask, but what I do defines me. The Dark Knight - You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. The Dark Knight Rises - A hero can be anyone. Even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy’s shoulders to let him know the world hadn’t ended.
"It's not about what i want... it's about what's FAIR!' man I love that line and Aaron Eckart is so underated, my favourite trilogy and movie of all time
I still get goosebumps when i hear Hans Zimmer' s music for all the 3 movies. Inspirational & Epic. Cant believe that 7 years have already passed. It still feels like yesterday.
For me, the structure of The Dark Knight trilogy is the absolute perfect way to do a series of films. They feel connected with each other by having an overarching story, yet they still can be viewed as separate, stand-alone movies. For example, you can just watch The Dark Knight, not having seen Batman Begins and still be able to follow what's happening in the story. Sure, you get an extra sense of pleasure when you HAVE seen the others, but I'm just saying you don't have to. Also, just to add to that, each movie feels so different from each other, to the point where it's reasonable to assume that they were made by three separate directors.
The best of the best comics adaptation movies; the best of the best Superhero movies; the best of the best The Batman movies; the best of the best trilogies and one of the best movies. God bless to Christopher Nolan and the whole The Dark Night Trilogy Movies' team! Awesome! Classic! Epic!

best trilogy of all time
My favourite behind LOTR and Star Wars Original Trilogy
+Briar Robbin fair enough, those are definitely up there for me as well, both of them are AMAZING trilogy's
If I had to choose my top trilogies
1. LOTR
2. Star Wars
3. TDKT
This is not just a superhero film, This is about the philosophy of life...
Batman is the culmination of man's true potential.
The Darkfrost he didnt beat the joker
Linklas Yeah he kinda did buddy.
The Darkfrost not really lol hes the only who won, joker won for 8 years mate till batman "sacrificed himself to/saved" gotham
Mr Js INC The Joker has won in the end of tdk, when batman killed harvey dent to save gordons son. Because the Jokers Intention was to force batman to breake his one rule to kill someone.
''They know, it was The Batman...''
Got goosebumps while watching this
just rewatched the trilogy. watched this and i have to watch them again...

Same lmao
Same
Same, man. I’ve rewatched this trilogy lord knows how many times
The ending when Gordon says, "They know, it was The Batman." And it shows his statue gives me chills. It's so empowering. Makes you feel like after his long journey to become the symbol that the people needed, he finally became the hero they deserved.
Hans Zimmer...I love you!!!!! The music for the Dark Knight Trilogy is beyond epic!
Don't forget James Newton Howard ! Some of his melody are so beautiful.
Oh shit you're right. Sorry James...love you too!!! :-)
The problem with this trilogy is that it never can be beaten its quality. The Batman story is fixated in time. Nolan is one hell of a story teller.
very true!
So true
Best Batman story ever put to Film. Thank You Mr. Nolan, Mr. Bale, Mr. Caine, Mr. Oldman, Mr. Freeman, Mr. Murphy, and everyone else that worked on these films. This is an epic masterpiece that I can see one day being very important to film, if it isn't yet.
You forgot Mr Hans Zimmer.
Shit! I knew I forgot someone. And Mr. Hans Zimmer and his epic music!
Jared Wignall The combination of Nolan + Zimmer is a guaranteed blockbuster. Eg. Inception. Can't wait for Interstellar!
The Fapman Yeah, I can't believe I left out Zimmer. Thank you for bringing that to my attention.
And what about Mr. Ledger??
People say these movies are dark and edgy. But whoever says that is completely blind to everything these movies offer. These movies are full of hope, with lessons for everyone to be learned. Sure the situations are dark, the people broken, the air tense, but even with all that hope rises. It’s a beautiful trilogy and should send everyone a message about takin action. I will always love these movies.
Bale is the best batman in my opinion because you learn things from him, things you can relate to real life( Thank Nolan for that). While in Affleck's case, he’s just a good cinematic experience.
No, Affleck is not a good cinematic experience: a fat, neckless Batman who kills and brands people carelessly? Bad cinematic experience.
gordios79 Batman killed people in his early comics and affleck’s batman looked a lot like the dark knight returns batman soooo
@@joshuacarpenter7447 Ben’s Batman is also suppose to be a tortured soul after he has experienced and seen shit in Gotham for 20 years. He became a killer after Robin’s death

Well Said! :)

That is kinda the message throughout the whole trilogy....
@Gideon CA Nolan's Batman Trilogy died as a legend
@Gideon CA I remember a "quote" from someone else on another video "You either die The Dark Knight Trilogy or you live long enough to see BvS and Suicide Squad"
this trilogy is a masterpiece
Wheeler67 TDKR was a major let down. This trilogy certainly is not a masterpiece
Also imo:
LOTR
SW OT
The godfather
TDK
the Godfather is my fav of all time. Cheers!
Naticzka Kamińska I guess we will have to agree to disagree because I literally disagree with everything you've just said lmao
This trilogy is a gift to humanity by Christopher Nolan and people involved. Cherish it !

Only villian to be in all three!

MrGojira95 it is responsible for the change to the best picture category
No other trilogies besides this one and Lord of the Rings have three movies that I consider great. Other ones like Star Wars, Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, and Captain America have one or two films that are great and the rest are only good. Nolan's trilogy is in exclusive company because it is comprised of three great films.
And one of those great films is a cinematic masterpiece, The Dark Knight
the best superhero trilogy ever made
Godfather trilogy. ?
Godfather Trilogy: The first two films are solid but the third is utterly horrendous.
+kobretti88 I forgot that one. Toy Story does fit this category.
The trilogy that gave us one of the best Batman , Best set of Villians, unforgettable Quotes.

Raghav Rangarajan Infinity War and Endgame showed what a cosmic comic event would look like on the big screen. The Batman movies were grounded in reality and almost all mystical elements were gone. You’re comparing things that are aiming at vastly different goals

After so many years, he still gives me goosebumps.
No, people who complained about Bale's voice were giving out as valid an opinion as your shit-ass comment.
Raul Gofuckyourself No thanks. Muted.

***** Rises was good, but I hate how Nolan made Bane a bitch, to Talia Al Ghul.
BATMAN :- I never said thank you.
Christopher Nolan :- And you will never have to.
"You have nothing!"
"Dent is in there, we have to save Dent!"
"You can't give in!"
*Batpod explodes out of Tumblr as theme kicks in*
Thank you Nolan.
It feels like one consecutive story, like the Arkham Games
It’s phenomenal

The story of the Dark Knight trilogy is enough to be told for generations. It’s story is rememberable, almost like a classic story like Peter Pan. The story starts with a beginning, and it has an inevitable end. The quotes and lines from the film are like something out of a fable. The Dark Knight trilogy will always be remembered..

The only thing that could have made this any better in my opinion would have been if they included parts of Batman's dialogue with Gordon and his speech at the end of the Dark Knight, and also Bruce's father asking "why do we fall?"

The Dark Knight Trilogy themes 1 Fear 2 Chaos 3 Pain.
2 Pain
Great work!
This Trilogy is the best thing happened to any superhero movie! This has set standards so High!

P.S. Bane = definition of Badass
These are the achievements of *The Dark Knight Trilogy* and the reasons why it is not only the BEST superhero trilogy, but also the one of the best trilogies.

The greatest trilogy I’ve ever witnessed. The greatest films ever.
"It's not about what i want... it's about what's FAIR!' man I love that line and Aaron Eckart is so underated, my favourite trilogy and movie of all time
The best, no words, the best Trilogy.
And i repeat, THANKS FOR ALL THE PEOPLE AROUND THIS.
I still get goosebumps when i hear Hans Zimmer' s music for all the 3 movies. Inspirational & Epic. Cant believe that 7 years have already passed. It still feels like yesterday.
Bale was the best batman and there will never be another super hero trilogy of this perfection ever again
Awesome!
Classic!
Epic!
One simple word with a great meaning to describe all of this: “Epic”
