Berlin has been on my radar for a while, so I was glad to hear your thoughts. I do love that ‘Moshfegian’ seems to be a legit adjective these days 😂

So excited to hear your review of Oh Sister. I have been wanting to read it since it came out. I’m a former Jehovah’s Witness (left the organization when I was 21) and lost everyone from my past and have always been kind of bummed that our experiences have been so little reflected in literature where I think there’s more room to explore the impacts of groups like the witnesses. If you want a really good book on Witnesses highly recommend the memoir The Last Days by Ali Millar. Got to interview Ali when the book came out and she’s fascinating. Loved hearing your thoughts on all these books 😀😀

Wow Chris I’m so glad you made it out. I absolutely loved Ali’s book and also interviewed her for work last summer. I am so looking forward to her debut fiction too. I agree, it feels like an underrepresented group when we think about high demand religious experiences that cause trauma. I hope Ali and Jodie’s book will open the floodgates for plenty more to be written. ❤️

Even though you said it was not really your favourite but from the way that you described it i NEED to read Mrs. S. as soon as i get my hands on a copy. It seems like it would satisfy a craving i have inside me. And do you think id enjoy the book Berlin as someone living there?

I think Mrs S will work for a lot of people, I hope you enjoy! Re Berlin I think so, I think you’d find the mocking of stereotypes funny and perhaps enjoy recognising the geographical references x

I also loved The Lost Daughter. I loved the part where she refused to move from the sunbed and when she would get nasty haha.
