Thanks for the demo. It's really hard to find these specs in the US other than paying out the nose for a custom shop. The discontinued CAR one was gorgeous, and it looks like they are about to release one in black, the rarest of the custom colors.
Danny, love your content. A question for you: If you had the choice between one of these and a mint condition Ibanez Roadster RS 924 from 1980 (The PJ with the paddle headstock and the cream pickup covers), which would you choose?
Thanks so much. Well it is hard to say, completely different instruments with completely different sounds. I was very impressed with this though. Excellent work, even better than Fujigen era Fender IMO. An old RS924 is likely to need some work unless you buy from a pro shop, the price will be a bit less than this Fender is new, but with the Fender Japan, you will not need anything done for a while given the standard of QC here and the set-ups they ship with. Cheers!
I would not have time to do my work if every time i do a quick test video I record through the interface. On my full reviews on high end instruments I do make time for that...otherwise it is room mic on a smart phone. Sorry, but I have other priorities.
@@BassJapanDirect Thank you i have the same on my MIJ fender P bass. Luthier said that it is after a repairment that someone did before i started to own this bass to heal the curve of the neck. Noe i understand that he os wrong.

Great content as always! I'd love to see a review from a late 60s jazz bass, preferably in CAR. That matching headstock is gorgeous.
Oh that’s nice, Danny maybe I should have ordered this 😅

Hi!! What's the string action height? do you do a fret leveling? Nice playing !! Regards
about 1.5mm, no need for fret levelling, no
Hi, what do you mean "it tappers to ** up the frets"? Ssory , english isnt my language.
The fretboard is like 5mm thick at the nut, but about 2mm thick at the last fret. It gets gradually thinner the further up the neck you go
