I can't decide whether this is a good thing or not. I had Gemini 1.5 Pro "correct" my transcripts when extracting topics yesterday...prioritised pre-knowledge cut off over transcript data, which were all incorrect, this is despite being prompted to only refer to the transcripts, and why. Explaining that it should faithfully reflect the topics and opinions in the transcripts, explained about its knowledge cut off, no matter whether it believed it or not. Once I'd got the prompt sorted it had been working for 1500 transcripts until yesterday! There's a lot of dross in Google Search and interpretation needs nuance, it could make Gemini worse! The grounding against curated data sounds so much better.
