So, this one definitely isn't on the same level as the first three. Those three were a complete trilogy and journey of the soul for Po, going through struggles that represent body, mind, and spirit. Still, this one feels like the right next step for the story as a whole. I can even respect scaling it back to not include the Furious Five. As much as I love those characters, I think that they would have made the story overcrowded. One of my favorite things, though, is that Po really has come into his own as a warrior, fighting with skill and his own kind of elegance, rather than stumbling through things. Also, fun fact: the Myth Busters tested bulls in China shops, and they actually did find that bulls are very careful, rather than just running into things and knocking them down.
My son and I love Kung Fu Panda and rewatch them frequently. We were so excited to go see this in theaters and neither of us cared for it at all. No desire to rewatch. So sad that Hollywood takes an awesome franchise too far and ruins it so many times.
@@CasualCat64 Yeah honestly I don't understand why some people straight up hate this movie. Of course it's worse than the first three but that doesn't mean it's so bad, it's just that the trilogy sets high standards
@@tmtorsmth Okay, I'll try and list all of the reasons out: - The Villain: Chameleon has cool concept, but it doesn't work on so many levels. First off, how do you steal kung fu? From the looks of it, she's stealing moves and the training of the victims, but how does that work?! It looks so similar to stealing chi, but how do you steal years of training, discipline, and strengthening of muscle memory. Additionally, the backstory doesn't make sense; The Chameleon is small, sure, but it seems like the writers forgot about characters such as Mantis, Viper, and Shifu. - Secondary Protagonist: Zhen was not well thought out. First off, she's played by Awkwafina, who plays the same bland character every time. The character was not needed, ruined good moments, and is overall a terrible replacement for the people who deserve the dragon warrior title and would have made the story come full circle, such as Tai Lung, Tigress or any of the Furious five. - Staff of Wisdom: At the end of the third movie, the staff of wisdom was made out to be just a symbolic artifact to represent Po's completion of his journey. Heck, Oogway even said "i have a bigger one" which just goes to show it's not very important. Suddenly, it's just the most important artifact in the world and can summon chi dragons, open portals to different realms, and do cool moves in the normal world?! Even Kai didn't have that power in the mortal world, it was only in the spirit realm that he was able to do those crazy moves. - Resurrection and how it was handled: Tai Lung was done dirty. He should have had a full redemption arc, but instead, the writers made him go "Po, you're useless" to "Po, you're not useless" after seeing him beat the Chameleon, which is so lazy. Also why would Chameleon need Shen? Shen was a person who fought with brains, not with brawn, which is what the Chameleon is looking for. Finally, General Kai. In the third installment, he was obliterated to atoms in the spirit realm, he shouldn't be alive. Ignoring the obviously impossible premise, he could have easily stayed in the mortal realm after the Chameleon was defeated. There are probably lots more, I'm just being forgetful
Kung Fu Panda 1 - Strength, Believe, Never Giving Up Kung Fu Panda 2 - Mind, Inner Peace, Letting Go The Past Kung Fu Panda 3 - Spirit, Growing, Being Much More Than Before Kung Fu Panda 4 - Heart, Change, Doing The Right Thing Kung Fu Panda 4 is an amazing movie as the other 3 Kung Fu Panda films and I love them all with my Heart & Soul cause the Story & Message/Lesson is so Beautiful & Meaningful~ ❤🥲😃
the pacing is awful, the new fox character is just straight up insufferable and annoying, and the character arcs for the revived villains at the end were absolutely terrible.
@@hichewies For you the pacing is terrible but I didn't see anything wrong with the movie, Secondly I don't find Zhen "Insufferable or Annoying" as you said and for the past kfp villains. It was short but well written for Tai Lung besides for General Kai & Lord Shen.. I didn't see a point in them talking at all in the 4th KFP film... :/
@@djvenom2.0Bro what are you saying if you like the movie just say that don't say it's good as the others, ain't no way this one is even remotely close to other three, this was just a cash grab poor writting and pacing the new character zhen was not deep or developed even the previous kfp villians have better character Arc then this new so called "dragon warrior" character. If you did enjoy the movie then good for you everyone have different taste but in reality it is the weakest entry to the franchise if you can see that or not
it’s very underrated, here’s why: all of the movies have a recurring plot where po’s experience, training, and failures pay off, which happens once again in this film. the theme of the movie is what po told zhen, “it’s never too late to do the right thing.” it applied not only to zhen and tai lung, but also to po it started with the same formula of shifu telling po he has to step out of his comfort zone and learn something new to better himself, but just like po, the movie changes. po has advanced in kung fu, inner peace, and chi faster than anyone, even oogway himself. shifu wanted po to be like oogway, but po didn’t want to change. but on his journey he took his own advice and decided to do the right thing and choose a new dragon warrior. and he had amazing character growth along the way oogway could have defeated tai lung at any time. but instead, he let po, his successor, defeat tai lung. in kung fu panda 4, we find out po could’ve beaten the chameleon any time with the staff, but instead, he let zhen, his successor, defeat her (or at least get a good hit in) but after po revealed he could’ve broken out and beaten her himself, he gets the final blow and returns the kung fu to all of the masters she stole it from. this movie was po’s movie, he got more time to shine and prove that he was a more than worthy successor of oogway. like i said, shifu wanted po to be like oogway, but po didn’t want to change. in the first kung fu panda, shifu was mad about oogway’s pick for the dragon warrior because nothing about him said dragon or warrior. po’s pick as the next dragon warrior had the same affect on shifu. like oogway says, “one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it.” po went on an adventure with zhen so he wouldn’t have to pick a new dragon warrior, yet on this adventure he realized that zhen was destined to be his successor and the next dragon warrior as for the lesson that po taught zhen, it went perfectly with the theme of this film. people can change. po changed, zhen changed, the villain changed a lot, and even tai lung changed. this is one of my favorite plots from the entire franchise. po of all people would know it’s never too late to change, because in the first movie, he was a nobody. he even told shifu “every time you threw a brick at my head, or said i smelled, it hurt, but it could never hurt more than it did every day of my life just being me.” po thought it was too late for him to change, so he tried to escape the jade palace explaining why he stayed, “i thought if anyone could change me, could make me not me, it was you.” and shifu was able to change him and even put him on the path to being equal to oogway. this is not how it was for chameleon, who i thought was a great villain. hear me out, chameleon is basically the reverse of po, people thought po was too large to do kung fu even though he wasn’t, and people thought chameleon was too small to do kung fu even though she wasn’t despite being beaten and rejected so many times, po pushed through and became a legendary kung fu master, while the chameleon took rejection too personal and went on a rampage because of it because she most likely didn’t have someone like oogway to inspire her po is all about being himself and doing his own thing, which was made very clear in the first movie. but the chameleon is all about being jealous of others and doing other people’s things. tai lung, lord shen, and kai all committed genocide, but not chameleon the worst thing chameleon did was push someone down the stairs, which wasn’t meant to show us what she could do, it was meant to show us what she couldn’t do and what she was willing to do to be able to do what she wish she could do. she had no talent in kung fu, so she would do anything to make her way to the top she knew what po was capable of, and he was the final test of her strength after she stole the kung fu from all the other masters she gave po the staff that way she could fight the dragon warrior at his best. which is why she called it “a final face off between formidable adversaries alike in so many ways.” there, in the final battle is where they showed us what she could do. she’s like no other villain the first villain was a student, and the villain of his teacher, shifu’s past, the second villain was the villain of po’s past, and the third villain was the villain of oogway’s past. but this time, the villain was the teacher rather the student, and the villain of zhen’s past. speaking of zhen, her dynamic with po was one of the best parts of the movie. her redemption arc was conspicuous yet satisfying, as it brought po’s wisdom from kung fu panda 2 to life. her and po seem incompatible since she’s a thief, yet they make a great duo, and zhen makes a great successor the “dragon warrior” title is an idea of taking nothing and making something out of it. like how shifu made a great warrior out of po and po made a great inspiration out of a blank page. zhen was nothing before she met po because she was a thief and a lying traitor. zhen was raised by an evil villain and betrayed everyone who loved her, yet po was so pure of heart that his kindness helped her get on the right path, and genuinely made her care about po. before this, zhen was given “rules” of the street by the chameleon zhen recites 2 of these rules after betraying po. but after the chameleon pushes po off the edge, zhen is upset by this and the chameleon tells zhen about a third rule of the street, which was “nobody cares about your feelings.” and it’s the first time zhen heard it. the reason why zhen never knew about that rule up until that point was because she never had feelings for anyone or cared about anyone else until she saw the chameleon hurt po, which is why the chameleon never had to tell zhen that rule until then. the pendant that the chameleon gives to zhen is supposed to be the equal opposite of the peach pit that po gives her. they’re the same size and shape, and the pendant had cost due to it being a gem, but it served no purpose besides looking nice, nor had any fundamental value. the pit, just like the dragon scroll, seems like nothing, but has real value to zhen because it holds the promise of actual growth, which she takes to heart in the final battle. all po truly needed to stand up to tai lung, his first villain, was his faith in himself. all zhen needed to stand up to the chameleon, her first villain, was po’s faith in her. the start of the first kung fu panda trilogy ended with masters who didn’t like po at first bowing to him, the start of the second kung fu panda trilogy ended with masters who didn’t like po at first bowing to him (except lord shen since he still hates pandas) in the first 3 movies, the b plot was ping being afraid of losing po, but they switched it up this time. i think everyone can agree that the b plot in this film is the best b plot in any kung fu panda movie li shan pretending to be a master of kung fu to scare the thugs, while they’re only scared of him because he’s fat and could make the building fall, yet he thought they were scared of him because he thought that they thought he was a kung fu master was a stroke of genius. the furious five may have not been in it, but li and ping were a good substitute. they had a bigger connection to po which allowed him to have the most spotlight in this film. li and ping were the ones who helped made sure that po had his heart in the right place. which seems to be a theme of this film. in kung fu panda, po strengthens his body by learning kung fu, in kung fu panda 2, po strengthens his mind by finding inner peace, in kung fu panda 3, po strengthens his spirit by mastering chi, in kung fu panda 4, po strengthens his heart by letting zhen in it after she hurt him
@@eddiebautista5674 “Yapping” about Kung Fu Panda? Yapping?! Really? Listen bud, you don’t have the right to accuse someone of speaking out of turn or talking too much when you took time out of your day to tell someone that they’re “yapping” simply because you don’t like what they have to say. If you don’t like what I have to say and how much I have to say about it, why bother reading it? And if you didn’t read it, how do you know that what I have to say isn’t of convenience or worth reading? Why even bother commenting? Are you looking for a response despite being anti-yap or are you trying to have a one-sided argument ironically making you the yapper? Why waste your time if it’s not to explain what makes my “yapping” of little value? Almost makes me think that it’s not! It’s not, Kung Fu Panda is an important topic, and if not being too scared to speak up about it when others may not like it makes me a yapper, then so be it. I am a proud yapper.
@@KFP_Fanboy you did yap a lot, a whole lot, it's not a bad thing, I tried to read until 75% and got tired lol, but I also like the perspective/explanations you gave, helped me think differently about the movie too
Of the 4 movies, this one probably had the weakest villain in the way of motives. While the Chameleon has interesting powers, her whole motive was basically "I was told I was too small to master kung-fu." but yet you have a character like Mantis who is smaller than her and is a kung-fu master and member of the Furious Five.
Y’all were extremely nice with your ratings on this movie… You know, it’s OK to not like a movie right? (Or maybe ya’ll really did like it.) For me, this movie was BAD! I mean did AI write this script?? Here are MY issues with this movie: 1) The motive behind the main villain made no sense given the variety of KungFu masters in the KFP universe. I mean, HELLO, Mantis is small! I think he’s even smaller than the Chameleon!? It’s made prominent throughout all the films the KungFu masters have come in all different sizes and shape. There’s even a Master Chicken in this universe, “and HE’S A CHICKEN!” 2.) No Furious Five?! We spent 3 WHOLE ASS MOVIES building up Po’s and the 5’s relationship. Seeing them grow together and especially Tigress and Po’s relationship grow stronger. And now we’re just gonna 86 em? Looks like there were obvious budget cuts. 3.) Speaking of budget cuts-looks like they could only afford Tai Lung’s VA and none of the others which was PAINSTAKINGLY obvious. 4.) I could not get invested in the fox’s character. It seemed like she was thrown in there just cause they didn’t have everyone else. And I like Awkwifina but they use her WAY TOO MUCH in animated movies to the point it’s just flat out annoying. 5.) This movie did not grow with its audience. This movie seemed more catered to little kids as one of y’all kinda pointed out. Which is perfectly fine, I mean it is a movie about a talking panda that does kung fu right? Lol But my point being is that this franchise started 16 years ago! The primary audience who have been a loyal fan base since the first story are now much older. Shrek is a perfect example of growing with your audience WHILE still keeping it a family movie for all ages. But this seemed to revert to a much younger demographic than it previously started with? There’s many more reasons but these are the main ones and are MY PERSONAL reasons for not liking this movie. If you liked it, great-but if not, I understand. Lol They should’ve just stopped at 3 in my opinion. But it is what it is.
I went and saw this in theaters - had the whole theater to myself. LOVED this movie, but definitely missed the OG Five, I’m fully expecting the whole team together in Kung Fu Panda 5 lol
Havent seen this movie myself but idk why so many people hating on it. It looks and feels like all the other kung fu panda movies from what ive seen. Anyway u guys should really consider watching Gravity Falls :>
The movie wasn’t bad, it’s a bit different from the first three. I’m sad that the Furious Five wasn’t in the movie but considering that this 4 movie is about change, it kinda makes sense that the Five isn’t in this one. Plus Tai Lung changed too. It was nice to see Tai Lung and him changing for the better and accepting Po as the Dragon Warrior ❤. Really heart warming and the cameo of the Five at the end.
Lurved all your reactions there at 26:05 hehe ☺️ & they did a good job of making chameleon a villain character you dislike & glad we got to see all our fave characters again & that final fight scene with Po & Chameleon was top notch animation there & nice message conveyed of not being afraid of change or let others use you for their gain.
Haven't seen an unneeded movie like this to ruin a trilogy in quite some time. Sure, it had some fun parts, but it's a movie I'll easily forget about and never watch again. Other than a few YT reactions to see what others think 😂
I liked the movie, its humor and art is always amazing but I think comparing to the other three this one just lacked something. I think as an ending to the series (I think its the last one) it wanted to bring a really powerful bad guy but the character they had didnt seem that fleshed out like the others. The ending kinda just happened if you know what I mean. It was still a fun watch tho :) Also you guys should REALLLLLLYYYY watch Meet the Robinsons it was one of my favs when I was younger and still to this day it is just soooo good^^
I hope it will be not. If they wanted to finish this series it should have stopped by the 3rd movie. This however is a very weak ending. Ending a series without the Furious 5 involved would be so painful. Same with the other villains. They only got the VA of Tai Lung. Shen and Kai were both non-existent in the movie...
I love your reactions. It took this video for me to find out there a Kung Fu Panda 4. How did that happen? The first 3 movies were so good. I don't see there reason they needed a 4th movie (other than to make money). Also, I don't understand why Po had to choose a successor. Oogway had to choose a new Dragon Warrior because he knew his time is coming to an end and he needed a successor. What's Po's reason (other than to make this movie)? And if he chose a successor, why does he/she have to take over immediately, and not in case the Dragon Warrior gets unalive?
This movie was horrible. My youngest grandchild wanted to see this for his 8th birthday. Fifteen minutes in he told me it was boring. I had to agree. He loved the other movies.
There is actually a for shadowing in the Chameleon speech where he said you need at least ten dragon warriors to be able to break the cage. That's tru there are actually more than 1 dragon warrior in the dream works kung fu panda cartoon series and of course just like transformers where there was a bad Optimus prime here there be bad dragon warrior. Who knows maybe they'll expand the lore from there.
The main reason I was excited to watch this is because Brian Cranston and Jack Black are in it--2 really good actors. Honestly, it made me laugh at the fact that grown ass men are enjoying a kids movie. 🤣
Tai Lung: groomed and trained for a single position his entire life, only to be told that he wasn't meant to have it and it was given to someone else. Lord Shen: tried to forestall a prophecy of his own destruction by committing genocide, and was disowned by his family. Kai: betrayed by the one he cared for most and was banished to the spirit world, while all memory of him disappeared from the mortal world. Chameleon: too small for school.
Po and his powerful rogues gallery ends up being sidelined while 2 women (who were unknown in the series before the start of this movie) fight the final battle of the KungFu Panda saga. Huge disappointment in how the whole thing ended. My son was not impressed.
Its really disappointing how much potential there was for this movie. A tai lung redemption arc/reunion with shifu, po passing down the dragon warrior title to tigress and becoming grand master, Poxtigress(more controversial one lol) Po passing the torch to a random theif over one of his closest friends doesn’t make sense to me There are rumors for 2 more movies so hopefully if thats true they will step it up
The Chameleon became villain just because she is small and not meant to do Kung fu. There’s literally 3 movies with MANTIS , who is far smaller than Chameleon and does much better Kung Fu, kind of a legend actually. This is lazy writing. Give me a break
Personally I think this movie was horrendous considering it's predecessors. The villain was stupid because Ig we're just gonna ignore the existence of mantis and viper, the furious five were no where to be seen and Awkwafina's character was extremely annoying. Obliously the animation was stellar and visually the movie was beautiful, but this was by far the worst movie in the franchise even tho saying this pains me so much. Also please react to The Road to el Dorado
The fact that they never considered any of the furious five as the next dragon warrior is wild. And tai lung was completely out of character, and had no arc or redemption. Shen and Kai would never bow to Po. They brought back all the villains and did nothing with them. Huge wasted opportunity. Why was kai even there? Wasn't his soul erased from the spirit realm! Wasn't he dead like dead dead?
this movie is absolutely not up to the quality of the first 2 lol. 4.5/5 and 5/5 for quinn and answer for this movie while giving spirited away a 1/5 and 2/5 is absolutely insane
@marcusMakoT I like the thid one way more just because I feel like it's the end of a story. The fourth movie feels like a cas grab. I feel like the third movie is the culmination of Po as a person. I also just like the third movies' aesthetic way more
What's with the need to take a perfectly ended trilogy and ruin all the best memories and legacy with unnecessary 4th one..(I am looking at you, Matrix, Toy Story and now Kung-fu panda). I rue the day they'll want to make 4th movie of How to Train your Dragon..
It was plan since 2 that there would be a second trilogy after 3 so this is not a cash grab 3 was never meant to be the last film is just this one had a awful Director which was why it fail
Yeah 4 just didn't hit. I really wanted Tai Lung to be brought back and be given a second chance to be Dragon warrior. Or atleast fight side by side with Po. Also at the end i highly doubt 2 of his 3 previous big bads would ever bow to him. They hated him
cant wait for you guys to watch the newest Godzilla movie! There's this one and then theres ANOTHER one coming who knows when. Godzilla is BAD AAAASSSS
I won't say I didn't enjoy this movie but I didn't liked it as much as I would like to. Chameleon's backstory (being rejected because of her small size) looks really stupid when you consider Mantis exists in the same universe, is one of the greatest kung fu masters around and at the same time he's much smaller than her. There was even a chicken kung fu master and he was smaller or at the same size. It would be more believable if rejection came from her ability to shapeshift, maybe it was too unstable or masters found it unhonorable to cheat with shapeshifting to gain more power? Either way, this movie is the weakest from all 4 in my opinion.
This is my first time watching this movie here and I think it would have hit me more in this movie if the character Po chose as the new Dragon warrior was younger. Same beats and all that but it would have felt like he was adopting the character like his dad did for him. And the furious five would've been the uncles and aunty's. A great found family.
Fightning scenes were awesome as always. However the rest was a mixed bag. Plot was bit bland especially for The Chameleon. It literally had no back story at all. Also really weird why Shen is bowing when he literally wiped out a whole Panda village including Po's mother. And then Kai that somehow lives when he should have been erased for good after he was killed in the Spirit Realm as a Spirit warrior. I kind of understand Tai Lung because Po gave his kung fu back. And also showed why he is the Dragon Warrior. However the rest was very inconsistent. And having a film without The Furious 5 was already questionable. Hopefully the 5th one will be better.
There was a 5th and 6th movie announced during the creation of the 2nd movie. I’ll just wait in the corner and see how many haters will spawn from hearing this fact… 😂
I am disappointed by this 4th instalment. I’m so sick of this almost ubiquitous trend in entertainment of a beloved character passing the torch to a new underdeveloped character that nobody knows and nobody cares about. Companies have ruined entire IPs with shit in the past 10-15 years. Look at what happened just with Star Wars and Indiana Jones! Po was never *A* dragon warrior, he was *THE* dragon warrior. He went from a prophesied warrior to a link in a chain in a boring and streamlined martial arts franchise.
You should totally watch the 2022 Elvis movie! Such a rollercoaster of emotions and one of the best biopics out there! It's so sad that not many people are reacting to it....

I loved how, when Po got promoted to Spiritual Leader, everything came back full-circle.
I loved this I think the final enemy was cool and watching the spirits of the past warriors giving Po that respect that was a huge moment in my eyes
Also, fun fact: the Myth Busters tested bulls in China shops, and they actually did find that bulls are very careful, rather than just running into things and knocking them down.
this one was notoriously made with profit over continuity in mind

@@CasualCat64 Yeah honestly I don't understand why some people straight up hate this movie. Of course it's worse than the first three but that doesn't mean it's so bad, it's just that the trilogy sets high standards
@@tmtorsmth Okay, I'll try and list all of the reasons out:
- The Villain: Chameleon has cool concept, but it doesn't work on so many levels.
Kung Fu Panda 1 - Strength, Believe, Never Giving Up
Kung Fu Panda 2 - Mind, Inner Peace, Letting Go The Past
Kung Fu Panda 3 - Spirit, Growing, Being Much More Than Before
Kung Fu Panda 4 - Heart, Change, Doing The Right Thing
Kung Fu Panda 4 is an amazing movie as the other 3 Kung Fu Panda films and I love them all with my Heart & Soul cause the Story & Message/Lesson is so Beautiful & Meaningful~ ❤🥲😃
the pacing is awful, the new fox character is just straight up insufferable and annoying, and the character arcs for the revived villains at the end were absolutely terrible.
@@hichewies wow you suck
@@djvenom2.0Bro what are you saying if you like the movie just say that don't say it's good as the others, ain't no way this one is even remotely close to other three, this was just a cash grab poor writting and pacing the new character zhen was not deep or developed even the previous kfp villians have better character Arc then this new so called "dragon warrior" character. If you did enjoy the movie then good for you everyone have different taste but in reality it is the weakest entry to the franchise if you can see that or not
@@creeder99 I can say what I want to say and it's called an "Opinion" so deal with it... :/
it’s very underrated, here’s why:
all of the movies have a recurring plot where po’s experience, training, and failures pay off, which happens once again in this film. the theme of the movie is what po told zhen, “it’s never too late to do the right thing.” it applied not only to zhen and tai lung, but also to po
it started with the same formula of shifu telling po he has to step out of his comfort zone and learn something new to better himself, but just like po, the movie changes. po has advanced in kung fu, inner peace, and chi faster than anyone, even oogway himself.
shifu wanted po to be like oogway, but po didn’t want to change. but on his journey he took his own advice and decided to do the right thing and choose a new dragon warrior. and he had amazing character growth along the way
oogway could have defeated tai lung at any time. but instead, he let po, his successor, defeat tai lung. in kung fu panda 4, we find out po could’ve beaten the chameleon any time with the staff, but instead, he let zhen, his successor, defeat her (or at least get a good hit in)
but after po revealed he could’ve broken out and beaten her himself, he gets the final blow and returns the kung fu to all of the masters she stole it from. this movie was po’s movie, he got more time to shine and prove that he was a more than worthy successor of oogway.
like i said, shifu wanted po to be like oogway, but po didn’t want to change. in the first kung fu panda, shifu was mad about oogway’s pick for the dragon warrior because nothing about him said dragon or warrior. po’s pick as the next dragon warrior had the same affect on shifu.
like oogway says, “one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it.” po went on an adventure with zhen so he wouldn’t have to pick a new dragon warrior, yet on this adventure he realized that zhen was destined to be his successor and the next dragon warrior
as for the lesson that po taught zhen, it went perfectly with the theme of this film. people can change. po changed, zhen changed, the villain changed a lot, and even tai lung changed. this is one of my favorite plots from the entire franchise.
po of all people would know it’s never too late to change, because in the first movie, he was a nobody. he even told shifu “every time you threw a brick at my head, or said i smelled, it hurt, but it could never hurt more than it did every day of my life just being me.”
po thought it was too late for him to change, so he tried to escape the jade palace explaining why he stayed, “i thought if anyone could change me, could make me not me, it was you.” and shifu was able to change him and even put him on the path to being equal to oogway.
this is not how it was for chameleon, who i thought was a great villain. hear me out, chameleon is basically the reverse of po, people thought po was too large to do kung fu even though he wasn’t, and people thought chameleon was too small to do kung fu even though she wasn’t
despite being beaten and rejected so many times, po pushed through and became a legendary kung fu master, while the chameleon took rejection too personal and went on a rampage because of it because she most likely didn’t have someone like oogway to inspire her
po is all about being himself and doing his own thing, which was made very clear in the first movie. but the chameleon is all about being jealous of others and doing other people’s things. tai lung, lord shen, and kai all committed genocide, but not chameleon
the worst thing chameleon did was push someone down the stairs, which wasn’t meant to show us what she could do, it was meant to show us what she couldn’t do and what she was willing to do to be able to do what she wish she could do. she had no talent in kung fu, so she would do anything to make her way to the top
she knew what po was capable of, and he was the final test of her strength after she stole the kung fu from all the other masters
she gave po the staff that way she could fight the dragon warrior at his best. which is why she called it “a final face off between formidable adversaries alike in so many ways.” there, in the final battle is where they showed us what she could do. she’s like no other villain
the first villain was a student, and the villain of his teacher, shifu’s past, the second villain was the villain of po’s past, and the third villain was the villain of oogway’s past. but this time, the villain was the teacher rather the student, and the villain of zhen’s past.
speaking of zhen, her dynamic with po was one of the best parts of the movie. her redemption arc was conspicuous yet satisfying, as it brought po’s wisdom from kung fu panda 2 to life. her and po seem incompatible since she’s a thief, yet they make a great duo, and zhen makes a great successor
the “dragon warrior” title is an idea of taking nothing and making something out of it. like how shifu made a great warrior out of po and po made a great inspiration out of a blank page. zhen was nothing before she met po because she was a thief and a lying traitor.
zhen was raised by an evil villain and betrayed everyone who loved her, yet po was so pure of heart that his kindness helped her get on the right path, and genuinely made her care about po. before this, zhen was given “rules” of the street by the chameleon
zhen recites 2 of these rules after betraying po. but after the chameleon pushes po off the edge, zhen is upset by this and the chameleon tells zhen about a third rule of the street, which was “nobody cares about your feelings.” and it’s the first time zhen heard it.
the reason why zhen never knew about that rule up until that point was because she never had feelings for anyone or cared about anyone else until she saw the chameleon hurt po, which is why the chameleon never had to tell zhen that rule until then.
the pendant that the chameleon gives to zhen is supposed to be the equal opposite of the peach pit that po gives her. they’re the same size and shape, and the pendant had cost due to it being a gem, but it served no purpose besides looking nice, nor had any fundamental value.
the pit, just like the dragon scroll, seems like nothing, but has real value to zhen because it holds the promise of actual growth, which she takes to heart in the final battle. all po truly needed to stand up to tai lung, his first villain, was his faith in himself. all zhen needed to stand up to the chameleon, her first villain, was po’s faith in her.
the start of the first kung fu panda trilogy ended with masters who didn’t like po at first bowing to him, the start of the second kung fu panda trilogy ended with masters who didn’t like po at first bowing to him (except lord shen since he still hates pandas)
in the first 3 movies, the b plot was ping being afraid of losing po, but they switched it up this time. i think everyone can agree that the b plot in this film is the best b plot in any kung fu panda movie
li shan pretending to be a master of kung fu to scare the thugs, while they’re only scared of him because he’s fat and could make the building fall, yet he thought they were scared of him because he thought that they thought he was a kung fu master was a stroke of genius.
the furious five may have not been in it, but li and ping were a good substitute. they had a bigger connection to po which allowed him to have the most spotlight in this film. li and ping were the ones who helped made sure that po had his heart in the right place. which seems to be a theme of this film.
in kung fu panda, po strengthens his body by learning kung fu, in kung fu panda 2, po strengthens his mind by finding inner peace, in kung fu panda 3, po strengthens his spirit by mastering chi, in kung fu panda 4, po strengthens his heart by letting zhen in it after she hurt him
WOW! This makes me see the movie/franchise in a whole new way. Thank you for this long explanation!
Holy yap
@@KFP_Fanboy you did yap a lot, a whole lot, it's not a bad thing, I tried to read until 75% and got tired lol, but I also like the perspective/explanations you gave, helped me think differently about the movie too
I have long claimed the first three as my favorite trilogy, that being said I still had a blast watching this, better than I was expecting for sure.
21:52 I hope y'all watch the Ice Age movies please 👉👈🥺 Huge fan here 🤍✨
I second this!
Here are MY issues with this movie:
1) The motive behind the main villain made no sense given the variety of KungFu masters in the KFP universe. I mean, HELLO, Mantis is small! I think he’s even smaller than the Chameleon!? It’s made prominent throughout all the films the KungFu masters have come in all different sizes and shape. There’s even a Master Chicken in this universe, “and HE’S A CHICKEN!”
2.) No Furious Five?!
They don’t lie about ratings if a movies bad they’ll say it’s bad they’ve done it before with the twilight movies
@@CasualCat64No, they just say if they like a movie or not.
@@noneofyourbeeswax01 so a rating
This is a mentally retarded mindset. you can also like a movie people hate aswell.
What if they just like all the Kung-fu Panda movies? They normally say if they don't like something
(At 27:25) FINALLY! After 16 "LONG DAMN" years of waiting… Ian McShane, The G.O.A.T. of the _Kung Fu Panda Franchise_ has finally returned!
- TaiLung should’ve been the new dragon warrior
- TaiLung and Shifu should’ve have a scene together.. imagine their conversation
Tai lung was sent to the afterlife he shouldn't be dragon warrior
@@ethenstokes7608 He was skedush by Po (not killed) just like Po skedush himself in KP3. If Po can return, Tai Lung should too.
Hit me Badd Medicine one more time 😂😂😂😂
The 2nd one is my favourite one
I love all 4. I really enjoyed this one most. Even my son said this his all the time favourite one
What this movie did with Lord Shen and General Kai was ridiculous !💔
Haven't seen an unneeded movie like this to ruin a trilogy in quite some time. Sure, it had some fun parts, but it's a movie I'll easily forget about and never watch again. Other than a few YT reactions to see what others think 😂
lol did you forgot matrix ressurection
i don't think it RUINS it at all, sure it was the weakest but not close to breaking anything.
@@imposter3811 I just didn't want to leave a list of other movies haha
The original 3 will stand the test of time. This one is just a grab for attention or no new ideas with a great cast.
The third one already ruined the trilogy. Everyone should stop watching after 2
Badd Medicine at it again, liking absolutely everything.
Have you watched Madagascar?
Since you spoke about Ice age, you guys should really watch it if you haven't !!!
I love kung fu panda movies it's true that it's not that good like the first series but it's still enjoyable to watch
This channel puts in work 💪
awesome reaction i wait for kung fu panda 5 i hope it comes
The main reason I was excited to watch this is because Brian Cranston and Jack Black are in it--2 really good actors. Honestly, it made me laugh at the fact that grown ass men are enjoying a kids movie. 🤣
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that in every video Quinn is wearing a white shirt? 😂😂
I mean it as a compliment. You guys are like Powerpuff girls.
Man our boy Baek Hynn Woo needs to be save and I don't know how he is going to get out.
ive been waiting for this lets go
Its really disappointing how much potential there was for this movie.
A tai lung redemption arc/reunion with shifu, po passing down the dragon warrior title to tigress and becoming grand master,
Poxtigress(more controversial one lol)
Po passing the torch to a random theif over one of his closest friends doesn’t make sense to me
There are rumors for 2 more movies so hopefully if thats true they will step it up
There are still several series in this franchise as well.
You’ve never seen Ice Age?! Please add that to the viewing list, true nostalgia and entertaining films
After this we have 2 more Kung Fu Panda movies since the creator said the original plan is 6 movies
The Chameleon became villain just because she is small and not meant to do Kung fu. There’s literally 3 movies with MANTIS , who is far smaller than Chameleon and does much better Kung Fu, kind of a legend actually.
This is lazy writing. Give me a break
Zhen is my favorite Kung Fu Panda 4 character?
They could’ve done so much more with this movie, I enjoyed it regardless and absolutely love hit me baby one more time with jack black!!!
Womp womp
I like the fourth one more than the third (my opinion)
I also just like the third movies' aesthetic way more
Didn't pray for this but glad someone did🔥🍻
idk if im the only one but i would love to see you guys watch bridgerton
What's with the need to take a perfectly ended trilogy and ruin all the best memories and legacy with unnecessary 4th one..(I am looking at you, Matrix, Toy Story and now Kung-fu panda). I rue the day they'll want to make 4th movie of How to Train your Dragon..
It was plan since 2 that there would be a second trilogy after 3 so this is not a cash grab 3 was never meant to be the last film is just this one had a awful Director which was why it fail
i liked this one more than the third one.
Wooow is that awkwafina???
The voice of the Zhen ??
those are durains. they got spikes. so it definitely hurt like hell. but he's bouncy panda.
Yeah 4 just didn't hit. I really wanted Tai Lung to be brought back and be given a second chance to be Dragon warrior. Or atleast fight side by side with Po. Also at the end i highly doubt 2 of his 3 previous big bads would ever bow to him. They hated him
Random invasive thought for the next animated movie reaction: Have you lot watched Rango?

You guys should watch the Ice Age and Madagascar movies
This movie was ok, but definitely my least favourite. Hope you guys enjoyed
This a an okay movie if we compare to the previous films from this franchise. But never the less I had a good time watcbing this
I won't say I didn't enjoy this movie but I didn't liked it as much as I would like to.
60%, sounds like our government.
I Did See Ku Fu Panda Back In March 9 2024 At The Theater Overall Its Just Okay Not Bad Sequel Its Just Okay
Nothing compared to the first two, but not as bad as the third one
