The reason I want to learn Korean.
So I met with these wonderful boys from South Korea this March, yeah they are the lovely BTS. And although they provide Eng Subs for their video now, I still get frustrated when I watch their vlive because I can't understand what they're saying at all. Of course, just watching them talking already making me happy but still. I used to think Korean language sounds a little weird, and I seldom watch Kdrama for that very reason. But loving Bangtan making me try to love what they love too and slowly I found out about the beauty of the language they spoke. And also every time I see their speech I always found a comment such as "I am Korean, and I hope the International ARMY could understand how beautiful our boy's words." Those comments would always make me a little sad because although we know what they are trying to say to us, I think we still miss a lot of things in translations. I really want to understand them and their beautiful message so I want to learn their language.
It is true that music has no barriers... but I truly believe that for better communication and understanding is sharing, at least on some level, the same language. As someone that already learned 2 languages (English and French), I really wish to make the third one be a FUN and ENTERTAINING experience... and well, how can it be better than learning with BTS💜💪. Understanding their songs without looking for the lyrics, the motivating messages that they always share (without becoming crazy looking at them and subtitles same time😆🙈), and after the pandemic is over, be able to travel 🛫to South Korea knowing already the language!!! Wouldn't it be so much fun?🤩
Learning Korean wasn't specific to me at first if I'm being honest. I have a love for languages and wish to learn the most of it, but there aren't enough resources here except the internet to fulfill that wish. When I found BTS, my curiosity about what they're saying, to trying to not be dependent upon translations got much more, which was a beginning for me to learn a language, as I've always wanted to. I want to experience a culture in its own beauty, in its rawness instead of depending upon someone else to give me a bit of what it may mean to the natives. Searching through short stories, websites I've been working hard to learn as much as I can (plus let's be honest looking at the screen whole time is painful to eyes :'''')) , having this package will mean a lot to me since instead of just moving through scattered topics, I'll start to build up knowledge in a specific pattern.

The reason I would like to learn Korean is so that I could understand what the K-Pop songs I listen to actually say, without having to look up the lyrics the whole time. And it would be so great to be able so sing all of my favorite songs 😻
I also love watching K-Dramas it would be awesome to be able to watch without subtitles and then I could finally understand the puns they always make, which only make sense in Korean 😂

As I can remember the reason why I got into K-culture is because while I was at the young age of 11, K-pop was introduced to me by watching too much TV, because as a kid I like randomly clicking channels to watch, but at that time I came into the MTV channel and did not expect for a K-song to air and the song was Gangnam by Psy is being played. By hearing the song I got hooked instantly because of the hype it gives me that is why up until now that I am 18 I cannot resist but to fall for K-pop and K-culture more. Because of that such reasons I really wanted to learn Hangul, the fact that I can be able to know the language and speak the language makes me feel comfortable in watching K-drama, in singing, and talking in Korean, also because of almost 7 years being such a K-culture "fan" I still have not got the chance to properly learn Hangul itself though I learn some few from watching K-dramas but with this tool I can say it would make my learning much faster and easier, and also this tool is made by BigHit and I cannot resist to give it a try. 💜

I really want to learn Korean because I need to say the members of BTS how they save my life, for real; through their songs, they gave reasons to live, to love myself and accept me like I am, and all this things are a reason to say how much they help me with my anxiety and depression. I am now learning Spanish and Japanese. I really want to learn how to speak in korean. I want to get to know more about the culture before visiting a new country. I will be moving to Korea so I really want to know more about the culture and get to know the language. I feel like learning korean with BTS will help me very much 💙. I want to learn korean because of two reasons. One, ever since I was young, language has been always been my interest. I love it when I can understand what people are trying to tell me in their own native language. I'm currently working as a nurse now. I have met some Korean patients here before at my workplace. Even though they are fluent in English, I believe that if they had communicated in Korean language, they may actually express their concerns better and I may have done a better job in making them more comfortable. Two, before covid-19, I would travel to Korea yearly. I love the culture and the scenery there. I would usually book airbnb and stay in the host's house. I do speak and understand basic Korean but most of the times, I prefer to use a translating app to prevent any miscommunication. However, I do feel a bit embarassed every time I whip out the phone for translation in front of seniors. So I hope by learning Korean with my favourite boys, I will be able to communicate more respectfully to the seniors. I can't wait till it is safe to travel again. I have been wanting to learn Korean since 2012. At first, K-Pop was the biggest influence for me. I want to be able to watch BTS’ live videos, listen to their music, and watch their shows without relying on subtitles. Also, after watching videos about them in Korea, I want to learn it for the culture as well. 💜

I want to learn korean language because i’m a huge fan of korean music, arts & culture. I love watching korean dramas & shows, but it’s somewhat hard to read the subtitles while watching how the characters act. I want to focus on watching their emotions and not being disturbed with reading the sub just to understand the scenes or the whole story. I am also a huge fan of BTS. I never liked kpops before, but only BTS made me have a change of heart. I can’t let a day pass without watching their shows/mvs and listening to their songs. They really served as a healing therapy for me after a life breakdown, and i’m so blessed that i’ve met them (even just thru the internet). Their songs are soooo comforting, but i also wanted to understand every lyrics so as to easily memorize their songs, but learning Korean is really quite hard. Time & focus are needed, but this Learn Korean with BTS is definitely the most helpful way, i guess. I also want to understand their weverse posts/comments without having to translate it because copy pasting it on google translate kills the excitement.🙈 I really find korean culture amazing in so many ways, because they value respect. So to be able to fully understand them, i’d like to enter their world and learn new things which i can apply in my values for personal growth.

I want to learn Korean because of two reasons. The first one is my love for language learning, I really like to know how it works and how each one of them is different in its own unique way. The second reason is that I want to study in Korea animation, which is a career that I really really love with all my heart. I’ve been doing research with my friend and we’ve found that there are great universities in Korea that teach animation and also illustration as a career.

Me, I want to learn Korean to finally break the language barrier between me and my idols. Maybe it's just a simple reason but I really mean it. We all know that it's hard to understand someone especially the person that you want to talk to because of language barrier and that goes the same for us😊💜
Learning a language's not only about the language itself; it's about learning about a new culture and the people who speak said language. Apart from that, checking BTS videos has been helping me go through anxiety for one month now. It would be the cherry on top to be given the opportunity to learn Korean and everything about the culture and the people.
One year ago, my professor told me that he got the master degree in Oceanography in South Korea with a sholarship. He told me that taking the degree there was the best choice he made in his entire life. He said that his professor take him to the middle of the ocean for truly studying how ocean works. Studying there makes me who I am now he said, by who I am means that he have hundreds of publications about oceanography and respected by the whole university. So I decided to follow his paths, I'm searching about the university that may suit me, looking for the scholarship, starting to learn Korean even before I love BTS. But then pandemics happen, my father got fired and my planning after all this time is suddenly feels a waste of time so I quit learning. And then I discovered BTS hilarious interview and starting to love them and watched more of their content but there is no subtitle in the video so I decided to open my book again to learn but this time for understanding BTS!! A few months passed, I'm starting to think I really should take the master degree in Korea, who knows I'll meet them and they really become my motivator. And with the learn korean with BTS package I definitely could learn korean faster. that's a long reason to learn Korean. Okay so I want to learn Korean because of the following ( it's really long haha) :
1) I want to learn Korean because of BTS (I'd be lying if I said otherwise). As an ARMY, I want to understand the people who I love and care about so much, I want to be able to understand them without any walls in between.
2) I just love learning languages, it's my hobby to learn new languages because I learn so much about different cultures and it amazes me.
3) When I first saw BTS videos, I was genuinely amazed by how much respect this language gives to one another. Also, this language sounds super sweet and friendly!
4) I want to talk in a language which no one but me understands lol. This is a really weird reason... But it's still a reason haha

I love watching K-dramas and being able to watch them without subtitles would be great and alot of interviews of idols that I follow don't have subtitles so I wish I could understand what they are saying.
Its because at school my teacher and friends always be like "why do you even like them you dont even understand what they r saying" "you cant even speak korean" "how can you even go to korea?you cant even talk fluently in korean" so i want to prove to them that i can learn korean and speak them fluently😆

Because I am someone who loves watching Korean movies, so this is another way or reason for me to learn Korean. Even though it is possible to turn on subtitles when watching most of the films, but for me, knowing original language can give deeper understanding of the content. Also, in Korean music it can be one more reason for me to be interested in studying this Korean language. Even though it is also possible to find translations of most Korean songs, trying to figure out meaning of each word can cause distractions, because I or you can’t focus to the music video or the series or movies because I’m or you're looking at the scene at the same time at the subtitles. So, as a true fan of K-pop, it is definitely important to me to understand their original language in order to enjoy it fully.

I want to learn Korean super when it start our quarantine here in our town I start looking for a course yeah I found a Filipino TH-camr which is sarangculture so I started learning Hangul but I think it's not enough because yeah I can read Hangul but I cannot understand it like LOL HAHAHHA and I just want to continue it learning because when my school start I haven't study Korean huuh and the ytber is done but cannot understand why I can't understand what I'm reading, I'm so sad huhuhu. And now I started teaching my sisters a little bit of Korean language yeahh they like it but I stop teaching them because that what i only know and know there are always questioning me "ate when we you are going to teach us" and me"i think next time huhuh I'm sorry my sissy "

I personally always wanted to pursue a degree related to languages (my country has one but directed towards English/French highschool teachers, I always wanted something more than teaching HS kids tbh) and recently, I found an opportunity doing so abroad, the degree I want to take specializes in Korean and Chinese, then after that I would want to get a degree in translation specialized in English and Japanese as recently, I discovered my passion for it when I translated the calls my family did with a doctor in the US because my grandpa had COVID and there was a language barrier, even though he passed away, this helped me realize how hard it is to be a translator but how happy I was to help my family as in, that was the only thing I could help my grandfather with, getting the books would be a great help but either way I plan to make this dream come true and looking into years into the future getting a Master in teaching Spanish as a foreign language so I can spread the love for languages, I want to learn and teach as many as I can before my brain becomes numb to new languages :))

I want to learn korean because im an avid reader and learning korean will help me complete all the korean books that is on my list. Exploring another language and reading it without translation is almost like spiritual journey to me. There are so many high quality books that's a must read and being able to read it is really something else. Im already trying to learn hangul. Now about my language barrier with my idols. Being able to understand them without subtitles would make it so much more meaning. I want to listen to their songs and understand right away. Being able to understand the meaning behind their songs without looking for translation would mean the world to me. Also learning korean will help me interact with my korean friends and i would be able to tell BTS what i always wanted to say which i have been telling in English all this time.

I have been dreaming of going to South Korea since 2016 when I was in college. For that I did enroll myself in online classes for Korean but eventually everything went above my head. This year I during lockdown I really felt the need the to learn Korean once again. I enrolled myself in the same classes once again😅And it was a little bit difficult in the beginning, but I was able to understand Hangeul perfectly. I can now read and understand only 10% of a full Korean sentence. I want to learn Korean diligently so that when I'll go to visit South Korea some day, I'll be proudly conversing in Korean while having Kimchi and Ramyeon :)

After being introduced to kpop and kdramas, my interest in the language really increased. So I would love to speak korean, BTS had brought me to another part of the world that i could never imagine. English is my second language and at first it was difficult, i started bc others where studying and bc it will be required in the future but not bc i wanted it. But then i started to listen music, series, movies in English and i started to love it! So now with BTS i love so much their music, i enjoyed a lot their runs, vlives, how active they're on wv, and with all of that i'm curious about the language, bc it's not the same, you have google translate or other but isn't not the same when it comes to slang, so that's why I want to learn korean, plus where i am from, my city is little compare to others and we don't have schools or people who can teach you korean, so it means you have to learn it by yourself and it's more difficult. I love the interactive pen so much!! Bc if you don't know how to pronounce a word you can listen to it hundred times! I will have to decide very soon what I want to study at university and I’m thinking hard about becoming a Korean-English translator. I’m not sure if I can success, but I’m not going to quit learning Korean anyway 💪
I wanna learn to communicate with people from different countries and break the language and inequality barriers . I wanna be a singer and I learned so much about singing from Korean so I wanna study Korean with other many languages cause I love their culture and country .
As I want inspiration to study korean and I have only 1 year after that I couldn't continue with studying Korean as this year also passed and I know with BTS I could learn more and complete one of my target language.As I couldn't use phone for hours to learn language and study too because of my bad eyesight and restrictions.

There's a lot of reasons why I want to learn korean. But my specific and most number 1 reason is because of BTS, cause we all know that they speak korean most of the time than English and also on their live. So it was really good if I will learn how to speak korean as well. 💜
Literally it has been a year that I have wanted to learn Korean but I had no idea from where to learn or from where to start learning Korean and I also lacked motivation. It would be a huge help of mine because I am about to learn Korean after my high school board exam.

I've been wanting to learn korean and go to Korea for the longest time. I want to watch bts videos, interviews and listen to their music without looking for the english translations & subs. And It would be nice to just easily understand them so I can just watch & enjoy their music & vids and just look at the members 😂🥰
I really find it interesting to be able to speak several languages because in addition to having the opportunity to communicate with more people than you can already, I think you can also learn about other cultures more easily through their language.
Speaking Korean has become one of my goals and doing it with 💜Learn Korean With BTS💜 would make it more interesting and fun.

Because learning the Korea language is certainly a good hedge. It could help make your career or business more relevant in the future. Korea is already one of the strongest economies in Asia, and if trends continue, learning korean could be just as important as learning Mandarin for business and career prospects. The MOST IMPORTANT is I can understand and feeling more about what our BTS talking and what their song about. It will make me more falling in love with my BTS 🥰. Thank you cokodive for this chance. Learning Korean would be a huge achievement and I would be using my time more wisely when learning. This obviously won’t make me fluent but it would be a fun start

I want to learn Korean because one day I would want to travel to Korea and talk in Korean to my friends and family. When I want to buy stuff in Korea, I can and understanding what they are saying. The Korea culture also amazed me. Learning a new language is in my bucket list. It will be an achievement unlock to speak a whole new language. I want to learn more about Korea because I want to learn more about their culture and language. I hope to at least understand Korean when I’m travelling to Korea:)

Before I got into this fandom, I used to watch a lot of K-dramas but since there were subtitles, I never bothered to look at the language.
Being an International Army who doesn’t know Korean, you’re always falling behind with the Vlives and the cute notes that they tweet (er…, the Microsoft translation isn’t always accurate). You have to wait until some kind fellow ARMY translates it for you, which may take up to days.
I was way behind on watching Bangtan Bombs because I was waiting for someone to translate it. I just did not have the patience!
I realised, I should be the one making an effort to understand them instead of cursing the company for not adding English subtitles. Learning the language would be the smallest of things compared to what the group was doing.
That’s when I decided, “Okay, you know what, I’m going to learn this language to at least understand the basics!”
I was pretty good with learning languages since I saw it as a hobby more than anything.
I think that’s actually the truth, like if you know more languages, then you can be more open minded because you have to accept the different cultural things when you learn new languages. So if you want to be more international, I think learning the language will be good reason to start.

The reason I want to learn korean as over this past year because of my introduction to the popculture I have grown an interest in the language, culture and history which influenced my will to want to learn korean as a few months ago I started learning hangul and some words and terms. As since I am a filipino canadian who only speaks english, I have an uncle who is Korean and doesn’t speak english, at any chance i meet him after the pandemic is over or go to Korea to see family members living there it would be an opportunity for me to speak to them and possibly translate it to my other family members. Just overall my idealistic goal is to immerse myself on a greater level to understand the culture and language to communicate with my uncle and create that family connection I can.
I would love to have this because I want to be able to understand the intricacies of the lyrics of BTS songs and understand what BTS is trying to convey without the barrier of translations
By listening to their songs, I could their emotions through them but, learning korean is one of my target to know more about them. Their songs, their cultures and new knowledge. It is one step ahead ✨✨

I might be nobody in real life but loving BTS makes me feel like i'm worth of every love in this world. two reasons. I like to travel alot and the language barrier sometimes make one not enjoy the trip and feel embraced by the culture. next reason, subtitles for BTS videos take a very long time; despite me not knowing what they're saying reading their body language sometimes make me feel like I do when I don't. So really to embrace the culture and avoid language barrier and to understand BTS fully
