Thank you so much Greg. I cant get the hang of it with other tutorials but I'm following along super easily with your great instruction. cant wait to crack on with part 2. Great study piece too. More of this please. 👍
Great tutorial. Side note, at 21:52, 3DS Max can do the same thing. Just grab any face and Shift+Drag it through an object and it will boolean the same way.
@@sketchfields Yeah, there's certainly an advantage to working with solids. I do miss a lot of my poly tools though...would love to duplicate and slide some edges around sometimes.
You told about NOT micro-filleting in Plasticity because of the render of Modo, But, if we want to go in Real Engine, is possible to Render Soft Rounded Edges in it ? Thank you for the tutorials.
mm, I don't think so. Rounded edge shading requires ray tracing - and I don't think that's been incorporated into game engines yet. You can BAKE rounded edges though. Here's a tutorial (old but relevant) th-cam.com/video/pFZLITaAsS8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Jw-mEKsWgrol6AyI

Thank you, glad it's clicking. Yes, more to come.
"G" for the translate tool shortcut means Grab I believe. in blender it simply "grabs" the object in screen space
Thank you it's the perfect timing for me, wanted to try out plasticity!
no problem. 😀
Oh! Look at the time 35 minutes!!! Now my man isn't Vaughn in 50 seconds. 😂
Gotta love your long tutorials 🥳🥳🥳
Thank you!
Thanks, yeah - good to have a mix. I watch his short ones all the time while I made these, lol.

Yeah, Max has some nice tools. Modo can do it with one called polyhaul - but it would be better to incorporate into the move tool with a modifier key.
But there is a huge BUT - 3DS Max does it with polygons and Plasticity with "real" shapes and "real" volumes.

good format.

Why can’t you make the background white?
@@michaeldavis8259 you want the 3D workspace to be white?
Yes if possible
@@michaeldavis8259 Yeah, I don't think we have those options yet.
G for Grab
That's it!
