A friend purchased an 830 recently and brought it over for a basic set up. I was quite surprised. We agreed to put a few more dollars into it. I cut a new nut and saddle for it made of bone and then I slottled the bridge and added a set of ebony unslotted pins. It really came to life after that! The tone and sustain are incredible. The absolute best lam back and sides guitar I've ever seen, thought or heard about. Next he wants me to install a K&K Pure Mini. I think it's worth it.
I just had a bone nut and saddle installed on my yamaha 830 CE as well as a set of new strings. I’m looking forward to playing it once I can get someone to take me to my local music store
I now have my Yamaha back and the bone nut and saddle really make a difference in sound. The guitar sounds amazing. The guitar is just so much fun to play. Grab yourself the Yamaha fg830 CE if you don’t already have one. You’ll be glad you did.
Hey gratz ! I was about to buy a 2k$ Guitar, but finally this one looks way nicier and sound way better than most guitars (and god know I've checked out all models of all brands that could exists in dreadnought/GA)! I'm still blown away from this cheap price and so high Quality Control :-O. Which active pickup would you suggest me to buy ? I want to play worship on stage with it regularly. Thx ! I was thinking LR Baggs models, but dont know which one and if there is better idea.
I have the CE version of the 830 which already has a good pickup in it. So you wouldn’t have to spend any additional money. The yamaha fg830 CE costs only $550 not including a case which will cost extra. Good luck. 0:03
Bought a FS 800 Yamaha for my granddaughter last Christmas.l for $350. I Put a bone saddle, nut and bridge pins in it. Sounds fantastic. And just rings forever.
@@gimpyjwilliams Only real noticeable difference is a bone saddle but this guitar sounds good with stock nut saddles and bridge pins' strings are what makes the biggest difference. EB aluminum bronze are what I use on mine.
I’ve got the CE version of this guitar, and it is really a great guitar. If you don’t already have one, then you should grab this one. You won’t regret x!!
The Yamaha FG830 is one of the best guitars on the market. They play as well as some guitars 3X its price range.
Just orded mine 😊

Seeing as you have swapped out plastic set to for bone. Would you recommend bone saddle and nut over tusq on this guitar?

I have one. Properly set up it's a keeper. ❤
This is going to give the high end a run for their money!
Why do they say $599 did the price drop recently?

Ive had 2 Yamaha guitars and 1 dirt bike 😂.
All great, reliable
