      Welcome to someone just posting to complain about a camera they will never buy or use. This is one fantastic tool that does the job for PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS, unlike yourself. It's all about getting the shot. I see people out there using mirrorless and they still can't get the exposure right.

    It’s new but not all new. It’s for those with no poverty issues and always wanting to be ahead of the pack with something new.

      Most photojournalist like myself either live in poverty or have in the past at some point. There are very few staff photographer positions and when one does come up, usually the newspaper or outlet will rehire people they had to layoff in the past. Or it goes to a friend or colleague of the editor or what have you, it's more about who you know sometimes. Talent usually rises to the top, but unfortunately we do often see privileged kids getting jobs with Getty. There are literally son's of Billionaires who work for Getty, who I won't name, but whom I have met and I was friends a sibling. However most photojournalist live just below or just above the poverty line. I still have a pair of D6's and 500mm f/4E VR FL, all the lenses I need, but I got this kit and upgraded over the years. I'm also fortunate to have connections and I often get new Nikon or Canon gear at dealer cost. We also get 50% off repairs or service and we have NPS priority for new gear. A lot of my colleagues use the Z9 and Z8 now, but I love the D6 and I plan on continuing to use mine for years to come. Battery life, wireless transfer abilities with the WT-6A transmitter is what keeps me away from mirrorless. If you noticed in this video the WT-6 transmitter is golden, you can send files to an editor or your iPhone, or laptop within 2 seconds at up to 650ft range! Plus I've been using these starting with the D4 in 2012 and the previous WT-5...and I've never once had a failure or issue.
      They just work, 100% of the time and at that range, whereas the built in wireless on the Z9 fails to connect or send and only has a very short range, for maybe a studio environment, whereas I can send images at a professional sports stadium from the field level to the press boxes and my editor can send them out immediately! My D6 battery lasts about 10x longer than the exact same battery in a Z9, I've shot with both. My D6 batteries are usually charged once per week, if that, whereas you'll need two EN-EL18d's for the Z9 just to make it through one day of heavy shooting. Plus the EVF is just not for me, yet. I did love the experience of the Canon R3's OVF simulation mode...and the R3 more fits with my needs and wants. I know it was a software issue, but when I tested the Z9, when we first got a few...the noise performance was atrocious and far worse than the D5/D6 sensor performance. I shoot in low light all of the time and this is an important aspect for what I do, so Im sticking with the D6! I've had a D6 for about 2 years or more and it's unbelievable as far as AF reliability and AF speed, it just doesn't miss! I've even shot an US Navy F-35C coming head on at me while doing a high speed pass, going 700mph and every shot in the 78 image burst was sharp. Every single image was perfectly sharp! Action does not get much faster than that it and if it handled that, I know it can handle anything. Anyways, I had three D5's when I first got a D6 and I wasn't too sure about it at first...but overtime I see how much benefits there are, it's faster and more reliable in AF, the JPEG and RAW files are nearly perfect straight out camera! After the D6 firmware update 1.2 the AF abilities were further improved and honestly no other DSLR is as reliable AF wise than the D6! I get it, the D5/D6 are not for everyone, most people would be better off with a Z8/Z9, but for what I do and because of my past...I prefer DSLR and OVF over EVF.

    Nikon could have it all :Take the D5 concept , if they did , add IBIS , they have it and it is impressive in the z6/7 , rip out the OVF , replace it for a EVF, repace the mirror for a half length lightweight carbonfiber flipping arm with a small transulend AF mirror.. for the DSLR AF system, the mass inertia is far lower then the full mirror, so 16/18 maybe 20fps with mecanical shutter must be possible .
    75% of the sensor will be uncovered, the AF flipping mirror is small, so the onsensor AF sytem can help tracking when this mirror is "up" , you will have a dual AF system that tracks the subject.
    When the transulent AF mirror is downwards, the center is a bit darker, this can be fixed with the EVF, EVF shows the image trough the lens on the sensor, now this small mirror absorbs some light and needs a +1/3 stop for the middle.. Not 20Mp, that is useless for wildlife, we need to have more pixels at a distance, you can not crop.. 24, 30Mps at least..I have sended this idea to Nikon Japan( 3D CAD models, calculations, a written explanation) If they had done it, Nikon was in the mirrorless ballpark with a DSLR !! ,with the most lenses at release ...a total game changer , most of the componens are allready on their shelfs.. as I indicated, they do not responded on this idea.. D780 is half way...

    Development of a new camera is expensive. i know, and i think of a technology perspective, this is high end and build camera.
    i don't see the reason to pay 7200 euro's for a camera whit this spec. I know, its not out yet. on paper sucks, an i think, in real life its sucks as well

      How so, both Canon and Nikon pro DSLRs do the job for the professional photographer. You spec geeks are pathetic. I see people use mirrorless and they still can't get the exposure right. It's not the tool, it's the person using it.

    • @jfphotography69
      @jfphotography69 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And your point here exactly is what. Only spec geeks look at the number of camera. Heck if nikon decided to just stick with the D5, professional photographers "which does not include you" would be just fine using it until they are six feet under. The D5 did not stop taking great images, heck, the D4s is still a great tool, and the D6 with slight "of you want to call it that" updates "faster cards, better autofocus system and a slew of other small upgrades" from the D5, will be a great addition to for the professional photographer.

    Nikon, you had it all , but failed on this one. This should have been the D5s in 2020. This is not a new iteration camera at all, certainly not from a D5 perspective. This is embarrassing except for the new card format. The D5 intro in 2016 in camera technology is a long time to be replaced by a worthy successor, but certainly not the D6... Get your act together Nikon !
