Guess which EU country had the lowest inflation when gas prices soared? France. Guess which EU country has the most nuclear? France.

You do realise France is in a total mess with its nuclear right. It’s sending an absolute fortune keeping dangerously old plants on while repairing plants five and six at a time. They even emitted they have went so far down the rabbit hole on nuclear that they had to plough on. Four of the newest plants had to be shut down because cracks were found and didn’t generate for over a year and still have ongoing problems. They had to close units 1 & 2 at Fessenhiem before we had another Chernobyl in Central Europe on our hands. Nuclear done right I’m all for but France is not the shining example and it’s turning into a nightmare.

France gets its nuclear fuel from Russia!
This is why France was very hesitant about supporting Ukraine!

Scotland's green paradox... knock down 18 million trees to put up wind turbines.

Greens are watermelons...thin green on the outside, and solid mass of red under that.

Gas is clean, and modern coal is clean, the problems are only political. Modern nuclear power stations don't produce the quantity of waste that early ones did 70 years ago.

The snp with the greens banned fracking in Scotland, but at the Peterhead gas fired power station they use imported fracked gas from the USA,whats the word I'm looking for "HYPOCRITES"

So the SNP was happy to have an energy policy that simultaneously decried nuclear power on their territory but welcomed the energy it produced and also promoted independence?? I will be interested to see how they expected to have economic independence whilst being heavily dependent on energy sources abroad.

Swinney chained himself to the gates of Torness during construction as he has always been against nuclear. He isn't going to change his mind now.
We need a party in Scotland that is willing to look after the countries interests and energy security. not a party, because their own personal feelings in nuclear should dismiss it.

The stored nuclear fuel waste will eventually be nuclear fuel for advanced reactors.

The modular nuclear reactors don’t get hot enough to have a meltdown so are extremely safe compared to the large scale old unit we all fear

Meanwhile £800m (claimed, but we know it will be more) is being spent on battery plants. Good idea in theory but these batteries will be just as 'disposable' as the ones in iPhones, electric cars etc. So it's not a one-off spend.

The UK must prop up all the EU owned electric company’s that now own the generation and distribution networks, how on earth can these EU countries survive without our support via huge electricity bills…….

It's a national power grid but the SNP mistake is in killing off base load power which is nuclear hence the grid goes unstable and battery storage facilities are needed to try and stabilise it.

We got the subs in Scotland only fair we get some nuke energy from England thought we were equal partners in this union thought the broad economic shoulders off the union was going too help us if we voted no?
So that was a lie then?

They could build hydro energy in the 1960’s at cruachan. What is going on with the level of intellect we have with people in gvt nowadays who have no interest in moving the country forward

Scotland is integrated into the power systems of the UK so there will not be any power cuts. This is a load of bullocks, look at the facts not the hyperboli.

So your stating if Scotland doesn’t build its own nuclear stations don’t think your getting energy from us (England) . Hypocrite. Scotland is exporting energy to England should Scotland turn off the tap ?? I think we should considering your opinion , support yourself & stop stealing Scotlands energy.
