I don’t know if every team playoff in LIV will be a big deal, but the one at Adelaide was fun to watch. First, it was the first time ever for it to happen. Second, big crowd in Australia. Third, the Australian team was in it. It was almost like watching a football or basketball crowd where they were loudly rooting against the opposing team. The South Africans had good chances to win on the first hole, missed, and the crowd goes wild. The Australians had to make a pressure putt to stay in, made it, and the crowd goes wild. Personally, I thought it was great fun. Certainly brought a different and fun element to golf. On a side note, watching with the LIV+ app was much better than watching any kind of live broadcast. Watching non-stop golf, no commercials, and no periods where we watch the featured group walk from one shot to the next where the announcers just talk gibberish while we wait.
It would, Steele had 10-20 thousand following him up his final hole, he’s not Australian. We just love sports and if there is a dramatic finish or playoff hole whether team or singles it would be packed. People were there to see good golf, not a particular player like happens in the US.
Shoey was started by Dave Reynolds from Australian V8 Supercars after his first win, which has been around for years and a stapple of Australian sports now
What you guys score as TH-cam creators matter not to me. All of your games are so much better than mine. The fact remains you’re all very good golfers and your channels are great.
So Loved Liv at Adelaide BUT the playoff HMMM. The one thing you would not see on PGA is the way the spectators were so loud when the South Africans were playing in the playoff and quiet as a mouse when the Australians played and you could see the miss shots from all the shouting at the south Africans as they played during their shots. Lets be honest here. If this would of been say at a PGA course and these same teams were playing I truly believe the South Africans would of won. just a opinion.
On the if Brenden Steele can win on the pga tour saying it would never happen. I feel like if Scottie's not winning some random no one cares about has won. I don't think it's a stretch to say steely on a great week can win a pga event. Especially this year. Pga competition isn't that much diff than liv except for scottie really
Well he won 3 times which is more than a great percentage of PGA Tour players. He was consistently top 100 at least. Trust me if Malnati can win Steele certainly could...
This is a great episode. I love Rick and Guy giving Pete his props for how well he played in the Myrtle Beach vid. It's a nice change to the "mean girls" style sniping at Rick that Pete's staff do on the Rough Cut.
You mean Mick. This all started when Guy was such a wee cretin about Pete trying to qualify for the Open. Both Channels would be without both Guy and Mick, but Rick and Pete have a different opinion. So...
Shoey's started in motor racing in Australia & became popular when Ricciardo started doing it in f1. Apparently it started in the early 1900's in Chicago, where a gentleman used a dancers shoe, filled it with champagne & drank from it.
Didn’t really see much of the Zurich. LIV golf going ballistic down under. I think a second event will be in Australia soon. Rory and Shane beat no one and sang to get interest
Stingers had the tournament won at the start of the first play off hole... Didn't put it away.. And choked on the 2nd playoff with both short sided bunker shots. I loved watching it because I'm Aussie..... But what if it was 4aces verse fireballs in the play off... Would be interesting to see what the dynamic would be without a home team in it
Aussie here too, after the first one went in the bunker the last thing they needed was some boofhead yell out during the other guys down swing For me that was a fair bit crap
Nefyn is stunning. The green fee is phenomenal value for a course in that setting and surrounds. I've played on a super sunny day there and it's amazing. I've also played there with my cousin as Storm Agnes blew in last autumn and it was still a phenomenal experience.
I didn’t expect to like LIV as much as I do… I actually prefer watching LIV Golf many weekends. Sure, the team aspect is forced and needs to evolve but LIV have the villains (more interesting personalities) and as a TV show the format better. Only 54 holes with shotgun start means a shorter event with much quicker “jump cuts” in coverage. A good LIV event is better than most PGA events save the majors and a few of the signature events.
I think there’s room for both, Rory and Lowry looked like just buds playing it was fun to watch them because they looked like they were having fun. I agree changing the formats might be the most interesting.
I am the only one with problems with the C4 Ecco Shoes? They are very comfy, but the left side of my leading leg (the left) broke after a few rounds of golf. Incredible! I changed with no cost the first ones, but it happened again with the second pair!!
Regarding Shoey’s, in South Africa, in Field Hockey, it is often customary to do a shoey after a game in your boot if it’s your first game for your club or if you have gotten brand new shoes
Mammoth Dunes @ Sand Valley in Rome Wisconsin was designed to be very playable (easy) for all handicappers but is still one of the finest golf courses in the United States!
Another amazing podcast! Love you guys. I do have one suggestion for how to organize the Monday podcast and the Friday clubhouse podcast from a listeners point of view. Currently, y'all are just adding the Clubhouse podcasts to the Monday podcast total count. Podcast 238 was released yesterday and the Clubhouse podcast released this Friday will make the total podcast count 239. I think it would make a ton of sense to differentiate between the two types of podcasts so people can easily tell how many normal podcasts vs Clubhouse podcasts there have been. I also think this would be great for y'all to archive and count the two types of episodes as they are made to easily reference yourself. An example of this format is the Joe Rogan Podcast. He has done 2141 normal podcasts, but he also has a separate list/count for all of his MMA podcasts, of which he has 155. As a listener of his, I like seeing the two counts, easily seeing what I can expect content wise based on which list the podcast is a part of, and I can easily scroll through all of his podcasts to find older MMA podcasts that I want to relisten to or send to friends. Once again, love the podcast, main channel, and HIT channel and appreciate everything y'all do!

The fact that there were corn ferry tour players taking part against content creators, I feel helped legitimise the event and also gave an insight in to the standard of the 8 creators under pressure. Pete really done phenominally well and as Rick states could of gone under par.
On the LIV teams being hard to get into or feel a connection with. Ripper GC and Stingers GC being Aussie and South African respectedly certainly helps create a connection between players and fans. But as one get used to the teams there are other teams that have also created an identity around themselves. Either they have some big stars in or they jave been winning or in the mix often like Smash and 4Aces, Fireballs, Torque etc. The teams no one knows about are the ones who are never in the running and neither have had a member in contention in the individual. It will only get better and better
Not a huge team golf fan but I would not be opposed to a more varied format to PGA Tour events. IF it were up to me, I would do 4 Majors, 4 signature events, 4 team events, then at least 2 match play events. Also would like to see one of the team events involve LPGA players. I would also like the Ryder Cup to be every third year. US v Europe, US v Rest of World (President's cup), and Europe vs Rest of World as a rotation. Why not? As far as LIV, the reason it was well attended this past week was the fact that Australia doesn't get golf events. That has to change. PGA and/or DP World Tour needs to go visit Australia at least once a year.
If you ever get a chance to visit Cape Cod in Massachusetts USA please try to play Eastwood Ho in Chatham. It’s been called the Pebble Beach of the East. Wonderful.

Zurich Classic pay out has it where the winning team splits 1st and 2nd money, second place team splits 3rd and 4th place money etc. etc. I definitely count it as a PGA Tour win. It can't be anything else.
Stenson has been the only player performing well over the past two years, with his last competition being his first significant setback. As a Swede, I'd love to see Stenson in a real team, not just a retirement home for players. However, what we think doesn’t really matter. It’s painful to state the obvious, but the captains own a part of the team, and that’s the crux of the problem. No one will leave unless they’re offered a better deal. Additionally, no team can succeed if it has two or three captains who don’t pull their own weight week after week. To me, the Majestics are finished unless they overhaul their team structure and improve their ability to make roster changes.
Another great episode had a listen. Whilst i wouldnt say Wales has the best golf courses. I certainly think it has the best value golf courses. Ive played some unbelievable courses for under £30 I like the idea of team golf during a 6 week break. Almost like the IPL

It’s a bit of Aussie slang. A ‘schoiie is a schooner of a beer. that’s standard beer. A shoiie is the same but in a shoe because a pint wouldn’t fit most shoes.

What if you guys established an official scoring methodology for youtubers. Rick could have a site that keeps all posted rounds and determine points based on # of holes, match type, etc. You all could create a youtube leaderboard for the year or season that people could follow and a certain # of points would qualify them for the Rick Open?
Daniel Ricciardo is widely credited with popularizing the "shoey" in Formula 1 racing. He first performed the celebratory act of drinking champagne from his shoe on the podium after securing a second-place finish at the 2016 German Grand Prix. It is therefore an Australian thing, haven't done one myself. 🤣👟🍻
The PGA is missing a great opportunity to have a TH-camr in every PGA event. Not as a competitor but as a barometer to measure the pros against. So Pete Finch "wins" and goes into the PGA event with a special slot. One TH-cam creator and one scratch golfer as a pair.
Only team golf I could accept is Team Shiels vs Team Finch. 😊 I think golf is more than anything mental game. Team play reduces the mental difficulty, which makes it easier, and therefore not as great. I hope the game system that is in majors stays (Individuals 4 rounds), because it is a better test of players than for example LIV golf. Open is a good goal for you Rick Shiels, I believe you are good enough to be successful. You need to handle only the mental side, focus better, and you can win. But brake 75 is also a good goal. Perhaps you should actually take it as a goal and think, what should you do to break 75. Goal usually needs a plan and an idea what should be done to achieve the goal. Now it seems you don’t have clear plan for the goal usually. What if you would make a game plan, how would you play some course, if the goal is to go under 75? It is interesting that for example 7000-yard course you could have 36 puts, 14 drives that are about 260 yards, and 22 shots that are about 150 yards. None of those are impossible for you, so you should easily go under 75. 😊
People talk about having a regular player play the course in tournament conditions to show how difficult it is. . . Having YT qualifiers and let them play hits two points: 1. Viewers get to see a non pro card player play the course in a tournament setting 2. The PGA could potentially pull in more of the YT golf demographic. They don’t need to do it for every event , but 2-3 per season? Color me interested.
I think if a YT golfer played in a tour event and came dead last it would go some way to helping us normals appreciate just how good pro golfers are. I think it would be a good thing personally…
Even the players say every so often about how monotonous individual 72 stroke play is.... Team golf is great New Orleans was a fantastic event. The crowd was great hardly any stupid shouting and the golf was captivating a lot more so than even the Masters. As for LIV don't watch won't watch... Also agree that tough pins and even stupid pins can massively impact on your experience of playing a course. I have played a few places where you have to forget the pin positions as they're just stupid. Personally i think some of these tracks have huge egos and want to make it as hard as possible for visitors.
It’s fun because there are so little events that break up the normal format. I’m talking about tournaments like the Zurich. Not like LIV (which is still just individual golf… mostly).
Rick: "I need something bigger to aim for" Guy "How about beating me?" Thats bloody murder, Guy. (Love it.) That said, Aim for whatever you want Rick. The Ecco will keep you grounded, right?!
C'mon guy. George had to beat seven other pros and turn it on during the back nine. The idea was a chance to get through and see how good the youtube players are. Finch did really well...Horvath not so great...real tournament the cream rises to the top...
Regarding chugging beer from a shoe... I went to a Nashville Predators (NHL) playoff game on Sunday. The lead singer of the band performing at intermissions poured a beer down the throat of a real catfish. And then chugged it straight from the fish's mouth! Oh god. I watched it with my own eyes. Please look it up and give me your thoughts.
Of course the win at the team golf counts for McIlroy. if it doesn't count, and we are saying it's not real golf then why do we all love the Ryder cup. he's played the same format as everyone else in the field. and been part of a winning team to not credit him with the win as it was a team situation is to say no individual football player has won a trophy as it's a team game.
I don’t know if every team playoff in LIV will be a big deal, but the one at Adelaide was fun to watch. First, it was the first time ever for it to happen. Second, big crowd in Australia. Third, the Australian team was in it.

Also he won 3 times on the pga tour 🤦🏽♂️
Great players you must not know alot about golf he beat a field of washed up players
I think they are referring to the prize money

He first performed the celebratory act of drinking champagne from his shoe on the podium after securing a second-place finish at the 2016 German Grand Prix. It is therefore an Australian thing, haven't done one myself. 🤣👟🍻
dead on take with LIV. if teams were countries / locations it would be absolutely huge.
Was Pete the only creator that had a proper caddie?
The PGA is missing a great opportunity to have a TH-camr in every PGA event. Not as a competitor but as a barometer to measure the pros against. So Pete Finch "wins" and goes into the PGA event with a special slot. One TH-cam creator and one scratch golfer as a pair.
Only team golf I could accept is Team Shiels vs Team Finch. 😊
I think golf is more than anything mental game.
Shoey came from Dani Ric in F1.
I 100 percent agree with Guy regarding the myrtle beach video 37:32
Can we get a whip round for some Just For Men beard colour for Ricky Shiels? 😂
I think Pete Finch combs Vegemite through his ! 👍
Scramble format is the best.
People talk about having a regular player play the course in tournament conditions to show how difficult it is. . . Having YT qualifiers and let them play hits two points:
1. Viewers get to see a non pro card player play the course in a tournament setting
“Don’t watch, won’t watch”…
Tell me you’re arrogant, ignorant and old without telling me…
SMH
@@-TheDevilsAdvocate Yep, childish ignorance. The same moronic attitudes were around when cricket was transforming.
the shoey thing is just an Aussie thing, don't know how it originated though
It’s fun because there are so little events that break up the normal format. I’m talking about tournaments like the Zurich. Not like LIV (which is still just individual golf… mostly).
You put the marathon in as a goal- how did the training go for that 😂
Rick: "I need something bigger to aim for" Guy "How about beating me?" Thats bloody murder, Guy. (Love it.)
That said, Aim for whatever you want Rick. The Ecco will keep you grounded, right?!
15 YEAR OLD Tyler Watts finished in third place at 1-under 71!
Ryder cup always has me locked in the tv
2000 pounds for a putterfitting?! (That most be the biggest scam ever.) Are you f-ing kidding me?! Twotousand pound?!
C'mon guy. George had to beat seven other pros and turn it on during the back nine. The idea was a chance to get through and see how good the youtube players are. Finch did really well...Horvath not so great...real tournament the cream rises to the top...
Australian Open must have LIV and PGA players on the best courses in the world and the best fans,,5th major ?
Can't believe we're not enough for you to put the effort in 😢
Of course Ecco shoes are the comfiest! Ecco were originally made for old people and they still look like grandma's soft orthopaedic shoes!
You need to get Louis Oosthuizen on show for a 10 under challenge
Of course the win at the team golf counts for McIlroy. if it doesn't count, and we are saying it's not real golf then why do we all love the Ryder cup. he's played the same format as everyone else in the field. and been part of a winning team to not credit him with the win as it was a team situation is to say no individual football player has won a trophy as it's a team game.
