Never was an AG fan, but the accessories? YES. Same scale, (18"-24") as the dolls I DO collect, so I've acquired quite a bit of furniture, musical instruments and props from AG & similar. Beautiful detail. 🥰

I own one of the og Molly in her debut outfit. My mom’s bff helped my parents get her for me for my birthday many years ago cause at that time she was my favorite AG. She’s now at number two while Samantha is my number one favorite because I like that while she tries to fit in with her time period, she still does things that girls at that point wouldn’t do like climbing trees and sticking gum into a bully’s hair. As the saying goes Samantha’s an icon and the moment. I also want to get the sporty twin since I grew up in the 90’s and she basically looks like me from when I was a kid.
American girl dolls were such a huge part of my childhood. By far the biggest part I miss about being a kid is getting to pick out a doll once a year and the excitement and love I felt towards the dolls every time
AG is what got me into collecting dolls!!! I have around 60 of them, and would be happy to help with any questions you might have. Nanea is my absolute favourite doll, so you have good taste. 😁
(NGL I was SO jealous when I saw you found that Truly Me #86 at the thrift store because she is one of my dream dolls!!! She's so much on the secondhand market 😭)
They do not stop selling the girl of the year doll for at least 2 years after her release. Probably it is to generate more sales. I am not mad about it, because once the doll is retired, her price in the secondhand market will skyrocket. This gives collectors like me an advantage because their price will not be too high (especially since I mostly buy secondhand).

So cute. I still collect rainbow high, monster high and Barbie in-box, but I always play with my AG dolls (I own over 40 AG dolls plus over 60 outfits). Have fun!! ❤

My granny had a small tradition of getting my sister and I an American Girl doll for Christmas for a few years. I had Josephina, Felicity, and Kit (who was the newest doll at the time) and my sister got Molly, Kirsten, and Samantha. My cousin got Addy, so between us we had the entire set pre-Kaya. Unfortunately, the only doll know I still have is Felicity; I think Josephina and Kit were commandeered to Goodwill during one of the annual toy thins when I got older, but I’m not sure. I also have no idea what my sister and cousin did with their dolls. But Felicity is safe in storage for now, and I have no intention of getting rid of her anytime soon. She was always my favorite in the books.

i just restored my childhood gaty Isabelle doll so love the ag content its bringing good nostalgia :) i bought her this cute pink velour tracksuit from a 18 inch doll brand called "sophias" for like 20 for jacket and pants so honestly other 18 inch doll clothes are way better deal unless it's a licensed collab

coming from someone who has 5 american girl dolls, you definitely chose well! she looks so good & is such a cute doll (+ OG molly fan here 💗 she is probably my favorite since she my first doll when i turned 6) i remember having to haul the kaya sets home from the AG doll store for my sisters birthday one year. They all hold such a special place in my heart

I kinda wanna collect the mini versions of the dolls, they’re more affordable and I just like minis. Maybe you can try and get mini Nanea and Laya before getting the full size ❤

The Girl of the Years used to be only avaliable for a year, but in 2018 they still had some leftover and were still selling that Girl of the Year in 2019, it didnt happen in 2020 but then in 2021 it became the normal for the girl of the years. Which is kinda sad because it's not as special, but it is good to still be able to buy them later on.

I really wish I could have gotten the Corinne doll bc it’s my name but also bc I love Corinne’s hair with the blue streak in it and her outfit.
She was one of the few AGs that caught my interest. That and the fact she had a little sister. I love when dolls have family members. (Well, when they are pre-established. I'm looking at you MH G2.)

I’m personally a more historical gal, but man, I wonder if my childhood Samantha could wear the Harry Potter and Wicked outfits if I actually had American Girl money. Still mad the Columbus store literally just closed this year, I only went once and got nothing. 😢

The regular wired brush straightens out curly AG hair. You should’ve gotten the wire pic.
If I'm being honest some of us are confused about what is happening with the previous Gotys and what they are doing/ how long they last also A lot of people use these dolls for customs which is why some of them are basic. I have been to the American girl store and I am actually a collector.

Sadly , the girl of the year is available for the year and beyond . Usually they last about 2 years until they are retired
Never liked baby dolls even as a kid. I had one that can with a spoon and it had berries on it that would disappear to seem like the doll ate it. I loved that thing 😂

I currently because they’re the main thing I collect like you and Monster High. I do collect Monster High when I was younger and I’m thinking about collecting like the original like the creep production ones that they came out with again because I don’t have any originals. I was little when they came out with those. But I currently have 7 truly me, 3 girl of the years 1 contemporary Evette 3 historical, which are the twins and the Nanea recently got her a once upon a Child I was so excited she’s in really good condition
Ps if your American girl brush ever breaks because they’re prone to doing that you can get a really good one and cheap one from target in the OG section and it comes with a spray bottle and it a lot cheaper
