uhh since it was supposedly written by Einstein so I took the shortway and assumed that the dude with the fish has to be german but ofcourse its a chance but it was a detail that would be extreemly ironic if it worked out
This riddle was hard but didnt use common logic, it used problem solving technics and clue finding. I really enjoy these kinds of puzzles and this one was the most difficult one yet.
J Girl I resolved this riddle when I was in 3rd grade and it took me about 1h. Yes, it's a lot but I was 8. (Sorry but english isn't my native language)
I got it! The hard part was knowing what I had to find first, so it just took a lot of rationalising and concentration. In the end I did it by myself. I feel proud!
I managed to figure it out too! I got stuck at first because I didn't immediately understand what "the green house is *directly* left of the white house" meant. Partially because when I looked up the clues, a version of it stated that it was only to the left of the white house (which to me meant ANY house to the left).
What I ended up doing is drawing up a chart of houses numbered 1-5, and drew lines to separate each house, as well as each category: Nationality, Color of the house, pet, drink, and Cigar. Then on the side I wrote down each article in each category, like Norwegian, Milk, Pall Mall, etc. Then I went through the clues until I could find something I could place on the list, starting with 9: The Norwegian lives in the first house. I then wrote down Norwegian under the column for the first house, in the row dedicated to Nationality, and I crossed Norwegian off my list on the side. I then systematically went through each clue, filling in what I could, as well as putting in possibilities, until I ruled out all but one option. I did this until I filled in everything but the Fish, which I placed in the final empty slot, and deduced that the German in the 4th house with Green walls who smoked Prince and drank Coffee stole the Fish.
I'm posting what i got before I read the answer. This took me 20 minutes by the way, but it was fun! house 1: yellow, Norwegian, Dunhill, water, cat house 2: blue, Dane, Blends, tea, horse house 3: red, Brit, Pall Mall, milk, bird house 4: green, German, Prince, coffee, FISH house 5: white, Swede, Blue Master, root beer, dog i wonder if i got it right... gonna check now. update: this is the only TED riddle i've ever solved omggg
Did it a long time ago, and this is simpler then lots others, this is exactly a sudoku game. It nothing very fancy with hard to think of mathematical tricks and this is why I love this quiz.
There are 9 squares with 9 numbers in it ranging from 1-9. Which means there are 9 lines horizontally and vertically in a sudoku puzzle. In a square there can't be same number twice, also in the general there can't be same twice in a collumn and row. Sudoku gives some of the numbers, and wants you complete the rest. Numbers do not have to be arranged orderly by the Sudoku, it can be random like it can go like 5 8 7 1 2 3 9 4 6 but it has to have every number in both vertical and horizontal without having the same number twice in a row or column.
I know I'm late to this video by a few years but does anyone know where to find more riddles/logic puzzles like this one, it was super fun to work out!
@ OP, The best I've found are the old school printed puzzle books (shout out to my mom for getting me hooked!). You can find logic problems in puzzle books put out by Penny Press & Dell. They have variety puzzle books that are released monthly, quarterly, etc, that will have like 4 to 8 logic puzzles included in the book with other puzzles. You can also find special editions by the same publisher that are books with only logic puzzles in them instead of a variety puzzle book. You can find these in the magazine aisle in some grocery stores, or you can order them online. Brain Games also makes printed books that are decent. Best pencil to use IMO- Pentel twist erase mechanical pencil size 0.5 😁

"The Best detective in town"
*calls in Sherlock Holmes from across the street*
The Brit doesn't drink tea? I don't trust him. It was definitely him.
+Mr Pebbles Lol
I'm British and I still laughed at this
Getting more cops to bust down all houses at once ❌
Taking time to write up a plan while the thief escape 💯 💯 💯
Well if I was the detective the theif would already have been gone cause I took so long 😂
Same lol😂
uhh since it was supposedly written by Einstein so I took the shortway and assumed that the dude with the fish has to be german but ofcourse its a chance but it was a detail that would be extreemly ironic if it worked out
flying detective
Same but I did solve it so I'm excited to have solved something that Einstein created
So true
If Sherlock Holmes answers this, he doesn't need the column. He definitely have answer after reading the clues 😅
This riddle was hard but didnt use common logic, it used problem solving technics and clue finding. I really enjoy these kinds of puzzles and this one was the most difficult one yet.
Lisa Lachance do you know how these puzzles usually are called?or if i can find them on internet
their called logic puzzels and their a favorite of mine heres a site that i sometimes use www.logic-puzzles.org/
this riddle was way easier than the others they've showed. we did this in Spanish class in middle school. the only difficult part was the Spanish lol
got it on the 2nd try after 7:54
J Girl I resolved this riddle when I was in 3rd grade and it took me about 1h. Yes, it's a lot but I was 8.
(Sorry but english isn't my native language)
Utente Anonimo hi (sorry for my english)
cuatica la wea I don't uderstand what do you mean.
Am I the only one that never tries these? Just me okay....
Me 2
nope
+Art_lyddie 0_0 same here its really interesting...
IVE BEEN WORKING ON IT FOR 2 HOURS!!!!!!
Nope
I solved this puzzle twice online, and it felt so satisfying to finish it both times.
Is it a riddle or a promoted ad for 5 different cigarette brands? If yes, I'm *S T O K E D*
Plot twist
Einstein didn't write it
That was what was said.
Then why is called the Einstein’s riddle then
Shy Guy The Great because the riddle was made for Einstein
Shy Guy The Great Good question.
Because the person who wrote it was smart like Albert Einstein.
The Brit should drink TEA!
No?
Also, EVERYONE drinks water.
Wow, when the Dane came in, he said, "Hi."XD
that's not the point but true
Danae Dang 😂😂lol
HE SHOULD
The sheet is at 1:37, description at 1:01, walls at 1:07, & animals at 1:11
I got it! The hard part was knowing what I had to find first, so it just took a lot of rationalising and concentration. In the end I did it by myself. I feel proud!
It's the German with the Green house who smokes Prince, drinks coffee and HAS THE BLOODY FISH!
Same it took me 1 hour and 7 tries but I got it
AGIDDLEY Asdfghjkl same
I managed to figure it out too!
I got stuck at first because I didn't immediately understand what "the green house is *directly* left of the white house" meant.
Partially because when I looked up the clues, a version of it stated that it was only to the left of the white house (which to me meant ANY house to the left).
ShadowVR2
I guess that's why they specified that in this version.
This is the first riddle i've solved here in TED-Ed, i feel so smart AHAHA
I feel you
But can you just get other policemen to divide in the five houses
surroung allthe hous3s
That was my first thought lol
They said they can't search every house at once
Or use the dog to sniff out the person
+Zied Kanzari But what about the rare fish?😒
This took me 20 minutes by the way, but it was fun!
house 1: yellow, Norwegian, Dunhill, water, cat
house 2: blue, Dane, Blends, tea, horse
house 3: red, Brit, Pall Mall, milk, bird
house 4: green, German, Prince, coffee, FISH
house 5: white, Swede, Blue Master, root beer, dog
i wonder if i got it right... gonna check now.
update: this is the only TED riddle i've ever solved omggg
Kim Nguyen same is here
sameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee oofy oof
Nice going man, yeh it took me about 15-20 mins to solve as well it was pretty fun!!
Kim Nguyen same
Did it a long time ago, and this is simpler then lots others, this is exactly a sudoku game. It nothing very fancy with hard to think of mathematical tricks and this is why I love this quiz.
i was high as fuck and took 3 hours and still didn't solve it, i woke up next morning and solved it in 10 minutes
jason cheng ftw hahahahhhh😂
jason cheng I know y because u high as fuck
jason cheng kkk
jason cheng I did this in school one year ago and solved it it 10 minutes too
jason cheng I love you
Solved this in about 15 minutes, using a spreadsheet
I feel so clever now
Hiyuke La Vie I envie your cleverness
@@sanyamishra2825 Thank you, I am happy to receive your praise
What’s a spreadsheet?
If you are lying then you are a very bad person
@@Fyyryf4r153 I doubt they're lying, I did it in about 15 minutes on paper too.
I thought this would be some crazy expert big brain mind riddle, but it was actually just a logic puzzle
Yey, I did it with the help of a table. I feel so smart, lol
+Oliver C Lol..
U must be a Bad Liar.
Lol me too
you can make a table with pen and paper, so it doesnt really matter if you used one. good job.
That's it, for me the table was the key to solving the problem
But..
I dont even understand how sudoku works..
same
Its easy you just havent had anyone to explane it to you
give it a try. its interesting
Same I dont even know how u win
There are 9 squares with 9 numbers in it ranging from 1-9. Which means there are 9 lines horizontally and vertically in a sudoku puzzle. In a square there can't be same number twice, also in the general there can't be same twice in a collumn and row. Sudoku gives some of the numbers, and wants you complete the rest. Numbers do not have to be arranged orderly by the Sudoku, it can be random like it can go like 5 8 7 1 2 3 9 4 6 but it has to have every number in both vertical and horizontal without having the same number twice in a row or column.
Is it just me, or is this the only riddle of TedEd that actually made sense?
True
No cuz they could've just called 3 other cops and searched all the houses at once
+Stfu5 but instead of doing that they call a detective 😐😐😐
Nah, the one about the resistance leaders made perfect sense.
yeah
I absolutely love these kind of eliminating the options types of quiz
3:07 am. I spent 2 hours on this. Kill me.
💣💣💣💣💣💣💣
+Zac Reagan thank you
Giulia Giulietta your welcome
🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪
👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿
The thief looked out the window and saw the police working on the clues, so he sneaked out and escaped 😑
Snuck*
when you solf like this when the robber ran away...
I know I'm late to this video by a few years but does anyone know where to find more riddles/logic puzzles like this one, it was super fun to work out!
There's an app called "Einstein's Riddle Logic Puzzle"
OMG IM SO PROUD OF MYSELF THIS IS THE FIRST RIDDLE IVE FIGURED OUT ON THIS CHANNEL!!!
Me too
But it took me 2 hours :( too long isn't it?
Why don't you just use a bloodhound?
SHUT UP DAMN
Because it’s a fish and they couldn’t get any bloodcats in their district budget, duh.
i solved ,maybe after 30 minutes but i did it
C K saaammmeee
C K i sat 1,5 hour at 1 am to solve it
C K same
Same, but not 30 mins. The drawing part was essential.
Awesome! So did I, it also took a while but I did it too :)
1: Say the fish has green eyes
2: Ask for the fish to leave
I spent a lot of time on this XD But I am so proud I actually got it!
Me too, but sometimes I thought to complicated.
+Alkiiis same
SAMEEEE
me too. took me a solid half hour though
me too but I only took 20 minutes
just send 2 people to look in each house
...the German didn't forget the riddler. He went to jail, served his time, got out, started a political movement, seized all of the riddler's property, put a literal price on his head and killed 6mio of the riddler's people...
I got it correct !!!!!!!
Tittle: Einsteins riddle
Last bit of video: nope 4:30
