I've wanted to eat at 'Ohana for decades and just a couple weeks ago my wish came true! My daughter got a last minute reservation and surprised me with a birthday dinner! It was amazing...loved everything! My only disappointment was that it felt very rushed especially because I am a slow eater. I understand they have a lot of people seat...just wish I could have relaxed a little more.

My Aunt and I went to Ohana for breakfast in 2018. It was my first time in Disney and I wanted to see Stitch. We had been staying off property so we drove to Ohana first thing just before the parks opened. Not only did we get a big meal with characters for $50 (which is hard to find at Disney) but we got to pass security because they had it at the hotel AND we left our car there and didn’t have to pay parking, which is $20 on it own. It was a great little hack that made breakfast there sooooo worth it.

We stay in the Boardwalk Villas; on our first morning, we walk into Epcot at the International Gateway, head over to Les Halles at the French pavillion and have a heavenly breakfast. A breakfast sandwich for my wife and a baguette for me - avec cafe, s'il vous plait! We sit outside under a (hopefully) blue sky and just soak it in. Wonderful!

Calling someone cousin feels so distant Dx I live in Hawaii and have never heard anyone call someone else cousin/cuz unless they are their cousins. People usually call each other sis, brah, or auntie and uncle. Sis and brah are usually used when calling out to a stranger. Auntie and uncle is basically anyone that’s significantly older than you even if they’re a stranger.

Soooo you kinda just admitted you’re not open to any criticism towards the restaurant?

@@NinthShinigami I'm very positive about Disney overall. WDW, DL, DVC resorts, as well as off-site DVC resorts have brought my family and I great pleasure for over 15 years when we purchased our 1st of 3 DVC ownerships. We've also frequented many other amusement parks/resorts, but for us nothing else compares.

    • @NinthShinigami
      @NinthShinigami 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@dvcray4826 first of all, how come no “DVC Ray here”? (I actually love that you do that lol)
and second I’ve been to Disney for 13 years of my so far 16 year life. I used to think nothing could compare. I always preferred Universal as a kid, but always knew Disney was the untouchable golden standard. Now, it’s honestly hurt me to see how the parks are today. For me at least, Universal actually does compare nowadays, as does Busch Gardens.
Im glad that for 15 years you and your family have been able to have fun and enjoy yourselves. I hope for you and your family’s sakes it stays that way. Unfortunately for me and my fam… everything’s starting to compare. Still love the parks tho. Just wish they could do what they were doing when I was younger, and even before I was born.

Nice video summary of OHana. We've been many times, hope they haven't ruined it with post pandemic changes.
Our tradition, since we always stayed at Riverside, was to hang at the pool to unwind after driving from NJ, then take the boat to Disney Springs for dinner, relax with margaritas at Dockside Margaritas, then begin park madness the next day. The first day usually seemed like the best as there wasn't much rushing around to do things at the parks. Not sure when we'll go back, too many negative changes since re-opening, and waiting for more normal times.

Watched an Australian vlogger who was over there a few months ago, walk up and they said they'll text them when there's a table available and they were text within 30 minutes. If you feel rushed at Ohana nip it in the bud.
When they start bringing the next course when you've barely started on the one you have give them a firm no.
They'll look startled because nobody does it (except me) but they'll move on.
You are in control and they depend on you being too polite to object when ironically they are anything but.
I myself can't get past the fact they have ruined their great dessert by replacing the bananas foster topping with cheap supermarket caramel sauce.
Oh to have the Ohana of 10 years ago where the food was excellent across the board, you were never rushed and service was impeccable.
Instead of building that motel next door they should build another Ohana so as to double the capacity and return it to the quality it once had. But that might cut in on some top executive's multi million dollar yearly bonus.

However, we were all so full and drowsy, we didnt really feel much like doing anything. While we made our Rise of the Resistance booking, it was really a wasted day. We headed back to the hotel for naps and pool time. Tip = have the breakfast in cool weather and as early as possible. We thought it might be better to have it on our departure day when we wouldn't be in the park as much.

I asked our server about it and he assured us that Disney has contacts who pick up the untouched, uneaten food and disperses it to those who need it. I don't know about their policies since covid. Our favorite foods were the noodles and the pot stickers. ( We couldn't take food back to our room because of not really having a place to keep it, plus we had the full dining plan, so we wouldn't need leftovers. )

My tradition is to eat a leisurely snacky supper at Epcot, take the monorail to MK to watch the fireworks, take the bus back to the Boardwalk, and then go to Abracadabar and sit outside and enjoy the view and think "Yep. On vacation."

We are headed to WDW in July! We live in the Rocky Mountain West, so I had to be up at my computer at 3:45am this last week! We weren’t going for dinner, but breakfast, and we got it! Yay! We went for breakfast in hopes that characters might come before mid-July! Hopefully they will even add in someone playing Moana. In any case, characters or not we will enjoy (and need to find Stitch somewhere else since he is my kids’ and wife’s favorite!)

If I went, it would be by myself or with a super picky "adult." So I would probably just try for the lounge, tbh. That price point 😳... I would rather just try the "must haves" as part of an à la carte menu.

It’s just insane to wake up at 5am just to TRY and make reservations for a restaurant that you can eat (and it be much better) elsewhere! How on earth does all of this stress and work when you make it to the park, the sheer cost, crowds and endless waits for EVERYTHING make for any type of an relaxing vacation? Why do so many keep on going here like it’s a drug you just can’t let go when there’s other places you can visit?

FINALLY ate there today, it was incredible, we naturally got sat at the perfect seat that they show a dozen times in this video haha table for 2, right next to the window in front of the pool with the castle view. Unfortunately there was a hurricane today so no fireworks 😅 our server was perfection, the ukulele player made me tear up plucking classic Disney songs. And the food…the bread pudding is the best I have EVER had, that caramel sauce??? It is not too sweet it is packed with flavor and salty as well I was SHOOK. 2nd & 3rd place go to the potstickers & steak, respectively, even though our steak was a tiny bit overdone (they didn’t ask how we wanted it which was fine). I was a teeeeny tiny bit disappointed in the noodles, only because they’ve been soooo hyped up, but I still loved them! They were delicious. There was only 1 thing I did not like: the wings. The meat was perfect I just really wasn’t a fan of the sauce, too salty, but to be fair I’m not a big soy sauce fan and my husband loved the wings. Honorable mention, the crispy skin on the chicken 🤤
Edit: wow Dinner is now $60 only 6 months after this video 😂 geez Disney, nickle & dime

I ate at Ohana for Dinner back on 6/15. I tasted some of everything, and it was GREAT.
HOWEVER, I wish I never went to Disney in June for one thing. Even more so I wish I didn’t select Ohana. 6/15 it was SUPER hot, and that was SIMPLY too much heavy food. I barely ate. I sampled everything though. I felt incredibly guilty for wasting soooooo much food. I hate food waste. I definitely did NOT get my money worth at all. It was just my Daughter and I.
Word to the wise try to book your Ohana reservation for your rest/resort day if at all possible.
The service, Atmosphere, and music there was PHENOMENAL though.
It also allowed me to see the Polynesian resort which is way out of my budget!

I loved Ohana without the characters. They don't need them. It made it more reasonable in price so we were able to eat there twice. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. Loved the food and loved the cheaper price without characters. If they just want to put a character in the hallway instead for people to stand in line to see; that's fine with me. And this way anyone could see a character without having to get a meal there.

I liked the wings better than the noodles and the beef was a bit too spicy for me. The dessert was pretty good, but I prefer the one from Liberty Tree.

Last October my husband and I went to dinner and was overwhelmed (we historically always do breakfast as a family). Anyway we had so much food and asked if we could take away. They said yes we could take what was on the table. I asked if I could get an extra noodle. Originally hesitant the staff came through with a huge helping. Needless to say when our kids and friends got back from the park they had a huge midnight snack. I think I’m one and done and will try the lounge going forward

This is awesome. I‘m hoping to take a solo trip later this year and hesitated to try Ohana due to the large portion sizes even if I never ask for a second helping of anything. Hopefully that was more than a one-time courtesy they extended to you, since I would hate to waste so much food.

We have been coming here for years. Now, it just was not as good as it used to be. Our shrimp were so salty, and much smaller. nobody could eat them. The meat was not the same. The noodles were very good. But, for 55.00 a person, i can get noodles elsewhere. Cape Mae was so much better.
