I feel like this happens a lot in communities that we don't see. They sit and have extensive conversations about homosexuality and Trans identity with not a single person who identifies with that and come up with their own assumptions as fact. Like theres litterally still people out there that say being gay is a choice with full confidence and zero facts.
I can't agree with the furry thing. The majority of furries are just people who dress up as animals and or people who see the embodiment of themselves in an anthropomorphic character. While there is that side of the furry community that contain less than safe for work stuff, it's not the whole community and it shouldn't be treated as such. Tiana and Kelon said that they disliked the people wearing animal ears/tails in public, and while it's understandable, they're not harming anyone (unless they're wearing actual tail buttplugs, then that's pretty disturbing.) The furry community has been a generally safe and welcoming community especially to neurodivergent people and people who identify within the LGBTQ+ community. As for They/Them pronouns, they can be used both plurally or singularly. "Leo and Katy went to the mall, THEY had a good time." and "I brought a friend over, have you seen THEM?" are both plausible and grammatically correct ways to use they and them. Also to the person who was invited onto the live. They/Them pronouns did not "come out of nowhere." They've existed various communities. But it's obviously going to take time, acceptance never occurred over mere seconds. I was happy to hear Tiana's willingness to understand Furries and They/Them pronouns, but was disappointed to hear people from the LGBTQ+ community being ignorant.
