HUGE Glass Elevator Renovation-Arden Fair Mall-Sacramento, CA

This elevator has changed a lot over the many years. In 2014, the mall decided to completely redo the center court glass elevator. This used to be a regular glass elevator, but they turned it into a pretty cool LED display. The TV screens and LED lights were put up to show different videos and pictures submitted by people, and to occasionally advertise. It's a pretty awesome idea! The elevator looks best at night. Nothing about the elevator itself was really changed aside from the shaft. The few changes were: replaced down call button, ADA compliant phone, music and cameras added, and a new capacity sticker (which is wrong btw, as the actual capacity is 15,000 lbs) The motor has gotten quieter through the years. Also, all of the videos are from 2014-2016. Before pictures are from 2013. This will forever be an epic elevator, but it just got even cooler! I remember when phase I of the mall renovation was complete in October 1989 and had to ride this elevator each time. Funny, but it’s been almost ten years since I’ve last been to Arden Fair.
