Yay someone else who cleans the glass. The portrait silhouette looks great. Love the cutting board. All my favorite products. You should sand down the surface then paint and I use my heat gun to dry. I have not used ultra bond yet.
I am a little partial to the laser cut silhouette and I love what you did with it on the glass bottle. 😊 I feel all of your projects are wonderful-even the chippy tray!- but if I have to choose my favorite is probably Mistletoe Kisses. So sweet. Thanks Connie!❤
That’s happened to me before when I used milk paint on sealed wood. I ended up sealing the paint and painting with a different milk paint. You can also scuff sand the wood first (or seal with matter clear spray paint.
Great projects! I’m with you on cameos. Not my favorite. However, your cameo project turned out great. Actually, the cameo on the jar was nice as well. The cameos wher you thought it was hair coming out was actually plumes from the hat. So glad you included the tray disaster. I think it is a good start for a Halloween piece. Happy retirement!
I love milk paint and have experimented with it on different surfaces. For that tray, I would suggest either painting it with Fusion paint or DIY Cottage Color 1 step paint. OR- spray with shellac. You need a paint or spray that seals in your surface and provides tooth for the milk paint to adhere. Let the first coat of milk paint dry on its own. The second coat you can use a heat tool to dry it faster causing the milk paint to “shrink” for a nice crazing/crackling effect. Then seal it with a wax, oil or topcoat. I love the lantern color. I used it on a raw wood frame a couple weeks ago and used Fusion as a base coat first so the milk paint didn’t soak into the raw wood too much.
Merry Christmas and thank you for sharing the milk paint fail! I was beginning to think I was the only one ro get no chipping or everything chipping off
Congratulations on your big announcement! How exciting! You get to paint and play for your day job now!! Woo hoo! I do agree with you about the silhouette paper. It's not my favorite and I'm a bit stumped as to what to do with it yet, but I WILL figure it out! I think it's a cool concept, but the "styles" may be putting me off a bit. Oh, that one hair "poof" is actually feathers on her hat, I believe. Thank you for sharing your projects! They turned out great! Best wishes for a merry Christmas and a happy New year!!!
Connie, I have to agree with you, I don't like the silhouette paper at all either. Not my cup of tea. But I love your papers in the Makers Box. But I can also say I love anything you draw of make. You are awesome. I love watching your video's when you paint. It is so inspiring. Thanks. Well, you did it, you made the silhouette look vintage and amazing. Even when you don't like a image you can make it awesome.
That tray is the very reason that I still haven't used the milk paint that I have, lol. Eventually, when I don't have a rush going on, maybe I'll get brave. Don't feel lonely, the silhouette paper is not really my jam either. It's a pretty paper, just not my style. You gave me hope after your project came out so well. Merry Christmas!
Connie, I’m so happy for you! Well deserved. I can’t imagine doing TH-cam on top of my two booths and my ‘real-time’ job. And you’ve been doing this for years. I can’t wait to see what 2025 beings! Happy holidays to you and your family.
Oh my gosh - congratulations!! I am beyond happy for you! Thank you for always providing such wonderful content. I have learned so much from you and are so grateful for you.
Oh my goodness the milk paint issue. humm well I just don't know what to say. LOL> this is why I haven't used the milk paint I have. Very nervous to use it. For others I have watched can't get it to crack either. But I have never seen anyone lose all the paint on the object. LOL Ok lets see what you can do 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Hi Connie, love how that round piece with the silhouette, came out. I was a little bit disappointed in you for how you came onto Royce about her design for this makers box. I think Royce's designs are next level and you could have just skip using her paper in this video, instead of criticising her design.
I'm sorry that it came across that way, I love Royces papers and designs, however this one didn't capture my heart but I wanted others to know you can make them fit your style. Thank you for watching
Oh Connie! So happy for your retirement. Enjoy your Christmas! :)
thank you very much
Omg 😍 I know you aren’t a fan of the silhouettes but you definitely gave it the perfect Connie touch!!! Incredible!
I appreciate you saying that, I'm always trying to figure out how to make things work.
I love the cutting board …the stenciling is perfection and I love that you filled in the gaps
Stenciling looks so much better with those gaps filled in. Thanks for watching.
I actually really like the finish chippy tray. Very unique!
It's growing on me too, I like it more after staging with it.
Happy Retirement Connie , on to the next adventure 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you, I'm excited for this next chapter!
OH MY GOSH!!!! CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR RETIREMENT. I'm so happy for you. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥃🥃🥃Cheers to you.
Thank you so much, I'm excited for this next chapter!
Love your style very much. Your videos and your voice makes me feel as though I can accomplish any project you demonstrate. Thank you!
Thank you so much, that means a lot!
Connie- you are amazing! So talented- everything looks great😊
Thank you so much!

Thanks for the tip, I'll try it out with the next color
I giggle but I think they are old fashion hats with feathers sticking out.. just my thought.. lololo ❤❤❤❤
You're right, thank you
I am a little partial to the laser cut silhouette and I love what you did with it on the glass bottle. 😊 I feel all of your projects are wonderful-even the chippy tray!- but if I have to choose my favorite is probably Mistletoe Kisses. So sweet. Thanks Connie!❤
Thank you, I'm so glad you like the projects!
Connie you REALLY surprised me this is fabulous news. Good luck with your new venture I can’t wait to watch what you create
Thank you, it's been in the works since September, it's getting closer and more real.
Great save on that silhouette! It turned out great!
Thank you so much!
I loved them all, even the mistakes. HEEHEE.
Thank yo so much
WOW actually I love that you just went with it as it is. I kind of like it. It kind of looks like a globe map. LOL
I thought the same thing....
That’s happened to me before when I used milk paint on sealed wood. I ended up sealing the paint and painting with a different milk paint.
You can also scuff sand the wood first (or seal with matter clear spray paint.
I used the lantern on a side table and it chipped very little, I love the color and it's fun to use a new product.
My favorite are the cutting board and the Joy sign!!!!!!!!
Thank you, I loved them as well

Makes sense, thank you

I appreciate the helpful advice, it's great to hear how others use milk paint!
Merry Christmas and thank you for sharing the milk paint fail! I was beginning to think I was the only one ro get no chipping or everything chipping off
You are definitely not alone in the milk paint fail! 😄 I just keep trying
Congratulations on your big announcement! How exciting! You get to paint and play for your day job now!! Woo hoo! I do agree with you about the silhouette paper. Thank you, you are right that is feathers, I can't wait for you to use the paper and come up with something that fits your style.
Congratulations Connie! I have done no wrapping or baking. That starts tomorrow.
I usually wrap a few days before.... I'd like to be more organized and have it done as I buy them.
I like the cutting board. ❤
Me too, thank you

Love everything you do!
thank you that is very sweet

Merry Christmas to you also. I didn't mind my end result of the paper, it did take me out of my comfort zone.
I don’t have ultra bond. I just use the clear spray or sand first.
That’s a great idea, I'll have to try that!
Connie, I’m so happy for you! Well deserved. I can’t imagine doing TH-cam on top of my two booths and my ‘real-time’ job. And you’ve been doing this for years. I can’t wait to see what 2025 beings! Happy holidays to you and your family.
That is so kind, I appreciate that. Happy Holidays to you also
Maybe use salvation solution on the tray before the milk paint.....
Great suggestion, I'll have to add that to the list!
I think they are hats in the silhouettes.
Oh that makes sense but I still don't understand them. LOL.
Oh my gosh - congratulations!! I am beyond happy for you! Thank you for always providing such wonderful content. I have learned so much from you and are so grateful for you.
Awww, you're so sweet! Thanks for watching.
Is the “goofy” hair actually a hat with feathers 😂❤
That is what others had said, I never thought of that.
You seem to have the same luck as I do with milk paint. I gave up on it a long time ago. It is not my medium.
I won't give up, one of these days it will work the way I want it to.
Is that Wilson on the couch in the background?? 😂😂
It sure is :)
Hi Connie. Loved your ideas on. Box..would love to know where you got peaceful joyful stencil. Any chance you remember and could share a link? Thanks!
Thank you so much. I got the stencil in a group on Amazon. Great stencils for the price. amzn.to/3BVrMJW
@ awesome. Thank you. Just ordered.
Congratulations on a big decision! As to the hair, I think some of them are wearing Victorian hats.
Thank you, yes I never thought of that being a feather in a hat. Makes sense now
Oh my goodness the milk paint issue. humm well I just don't know what to say. LOL> this is why I haven't used the milk paint I have. Very nervous to use it. Yeah I won't give up, one of these months will work like I want.
I am not a fan of the silhouette paper, on two projects I just used the frames and put something else in the middle .
I thought about that but decided to think outside my comfort zone.
Hi Connie, love how that round piece with the silhouette, came out. I was a little bit disappointed in you for how you came onto Royce about her design for this makers box. So Connie, the hair I would say is representative of an African American hairstyle I would be carful to call them goofy you just might offend someone
I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone, I had no idea, thank you for letting me know about the silhouette. Merry Christmas
