You work right off of your freaking decalomania… unREAL!
Max Ernst would be proud

Спасибо!
I've been fascinated by decalcomania since I first saw the art of Max Ernst. Beautiful work, thanks for sharing your process.
I think the correct word is "Frottage"... Leonardo da Vinci docet 😉
@@tonykeith76I first learned about decalcomania when i was studying Max Ernst, and found the technique fascinating! The term i used is accurate, by definition, but feel free to use other interpretations, as you see fit.
Look amazing good job I feel Max Ernst touch

Wow, no words!😲😲😲😲😲😲😲
wow! "j'adore" !
Wow! All of your artwork is stunning. But this - this is more like the effect I'm trying to achieve! Been trying to figure out a way to get more variation. Looks like you may have cracked it!
Just watched your Decalcomania video again and it's so satisfying to watch! As you probably know, acetate works well but patterns created can be a bit uniform and predictable. it's hard to get more varied, organic effects with it. I may be wrong but think the surface to be pulled needs to be uneven, lots of lumps & bumps. Scrunched up paper, strong tissue paper, various plastics and polythene materials like carrier/shopping bags and cling film. All can be cut or torn into smaller bits for smaller details. A balloon might be interesting too: I know paint pouring folks get pretty good results with balloons.
One thing I do politely request is: can we have a bit more info, please? I know we should all experiment - and I do, believe me. But it would be so helpful (and a great starting point for some) to learn a bit more. For example: what brand of paints you used and prefer. There are sooo many different brands on the market. I'm guessing Golden acrylics with a slow dry medium, or Fluid or possibly their OPEN range. But I'm just guessing. And that earthy green colour is gorgeous. I just love it! Sap Green possibly? It looks transparent (or semi): is this best for this technique?
Anyhoo, thank you so much for an excellent demo and beautiful result! Would really love to see more of this technique and your creations!
Thank you for your comment! I'm using acrylics from Lascaux, Amsterdam and Old Holland. I don't remember how I mixed that green, but I'm pretty sure that "gold green" was involved. For decalcomania acrylic inks are also a good choice - I'm using Schmicke Aero Color. For decalcomania I use only water, no retarder.
@@petergric Thanks sooo much for your prompt reply Peter, and for the info! Amsterdam and Lascaux are both good quality paints. Aero Color is too but a bit pricey in UK. Good thing is my room is like an art shop! I have an abundance of brands, mediums and materials and it's about time I used them so I'm pretty confident I'll get the desired results eventually. Thanks again for your info - you are an inspiration!
I love it!!
Thank you!
took a while to get to the final shape. The intermediate steps are interesting also. Now I am motivated to do some more like this. Interesting too that we are both into AI: but however you write prompts, AI cannot even come close to these results. Correct me if I am wrong. I had taken earlier decalcomania paintings of mine into AI and instead of building on it and improving, it actually just screwed it up.
What's your surface choice please? Is is canvas, paper. Also the one above?
Awesome Demonstration Peter !!. I`m wondering if there is a specific kind of paper you are using to interact with the surface. Thanks a lot
Thank you! The paper should have a glossy finish, something like a magazine cover. Alternatively you can also use backing paper, plastic, transparencies,...
@@petergric sounds great.keep rocking Peter 🔥🔥
Fantastico, grazie
