She had a stroke in September of 2022, and then she got dementia. she passed a few weeks ago. we will missed her , she done so much for the family.

I know they make then a lot different now and safer to use, I just do what I was raised to do My kitchen my rules. never had anyone get sick or die from my canned food and I am 60 years old. I not a fan of baked beans they are too sweet for me, My family loves them. I have never tried a recipe of yours we didn't love. I am going to make these maybe cut recipe in half cause they will not last long enough around my family to be put in a can . Far as the butter goes, I will be canning me some butter up. I hate that prices are so high, I pray to the Lord to heal our nation. to heal out people. teach us all to love one another and realize that without Jesus in our life we have nothing and we are a lost country. I had an abundant garden by the grace of God last year and canned and froze and dehydrated so much. We gave away a lot of fruits and vegetables too. God is good! In December, I found out I had cancer and had surgery in January. Let me tell you those fruits and vegetables were a blessing! Not only did it help my husband with grocery shopping and saving money on groceries, but I was able to eat good healthy food to heal my body. I’m still going through all the treatments that you get after surgery and that good food is still feeding us. Yes, survival food blessed by the Lord! ❤
I've been canning non-stop. I'm helping a friend from church out as well with canning his garden because his 13yo daughter a couple of weeks ago found out that she has a brain tumor. So, trying to can both gardens as best as I can. Thanks for sharing your projects and progress. Have a great day.
My paternal grandmother canned everything she could get her hands on and even though I wasn’t raised with her, I think I inherited her canning gene cuz I’m just like her! People think I’m crazy but I’ll be well fed! I’ve canned sausage, hamburger, all kinds of meats, beans, veggies and fruits. I’m famous for my jams and I’m grateful for you! I’ve learned so much from you! God bless you Miss Lori!! Sending love from S. Utah ❤
Today a peeled and grated ginger, dried it in the oven and tomorrow I will grind it for my own ground ginger! When I looked at the price of ground ginger for a recipe I figured I could do this myself. Feels pretty good to try something new.
Hey, Miss Lori! I had my phone propped up on the kitchen cabinet so I could watch you work while I work. My husband walked by and watched for a while and said, “Save that video. I like her kitchen. It looks used.” Bahaha! My man seems to love me most when I’m in the kitchen being what he calls, “a farm marm.” From one farm marm to another, have a good evening! 😃
If the government doesn’t approve of something, then I’m all about it. I can food based on common sense and tried and true methods and recipes. I always raw pack my meat because the times that I didn’t it was just too dry being cooked twice, and raw pack method doesn’t have that problem. Your kitchen, your rules. God bless.
Try this method. ( Favorite is chuck roast, or Boston butt pork.) Cut & trim meat to fit jar mouth. Salt , pepper, onion powder, garlic powder. SEAR every side (not cooking, just fast sear), stuff into jar. 1-2" of broth or water. Process in pressure canner. Pot roast, pork roast in a jar. Never dry, charred, and I can use the liquid as a gravy base.
I have never been busier than since I retired! Got more involved with church and I now take care of my Dad’s doctor appointments. (He’s 92). I just bought the Nesco pressure canner because I have a glass top stove and I am afraid to pressure can on it. I love this video! Thank you, Ms.Lori.
Thank you for being our guides at these crossroads, our signposts to the godly way, for pointing us in the old ways. Everything you teach us will help us all until we are called home to Jesus. I read this verse today, and you and Mr. Brown immediately came to mind. Blessings to you both. This is what the LORD says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. I've never canned baked beans, but these sounded delicious. I like mine sweet too, and with smoked bacon added. Or a little liquid smoke, if I don't have smoked bacon. I haven't canned since losing my husband, almost 4 years ago. Just haven't wanted to, but you have made me want to do this. I may try the butter also, if I can find it on sale. So thank you! Great video.

It is 8:00 at night here in Arizona and I have already had my dinner. I am so hungry for home made baked beans! I live alone so I don’t can much anymore but there is nothing better than home made baked beans. Love you both.

Lori, My butter turned out great. The jars have a few milk solids at the bottoms; but I don't think that will matter. I was concerned at first because it took a long time for the liquid to change to a semi-solid texture. I think I will take most of my butter out of the freezer and can it. Now, to watch for sales on butter! Thanks for all your help.
God Bless and I so enjoyed this video and time with you Miss Laurie!! I'm obsessed with canning everything! My dear Dad gave me all his canning things and recipes and wisdom! He's with God now so it's so special to me to have these things!
Hi Miss Lori! I really love baked beans. I'll eat a can all by myself. My husband was listening and that the first thing that he had said. Lol! I will surely try the butter. Thank you so much! Please take care!
My Mom canned so much. That's how I learned. Now, I love to can! Doing more every year. Thank you for letting us watch the canning and baking you do❣️ Your Baked Beans recipe is the same as my Mothers! 😉
Canning has always been a way of life for my family since I was a very little girl. I recently started canning for myself instead of just helping the rest of the family and I find it to be very fulfilling knowing I always have food on the shelf. I just finished putting up about 80 lbs of tomatoes in pasta sauce and pizza sauce. I have two turkeys I just took out of the freezer and I'm thawing in the fridge to start to put up. I want to make canned turkey. Turkey Stock and also white chicken (turkey) chili. My sister and I just finished rendering tallow yesterday and we are going to render lard this weekend. We will stay busy for sure. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with the rest of the world.
Wow! I thought someone wrote my exact thoughts…. Then I thought no, one of my sisters wrote that… but their names are Roslyn and Vickie! 😂😂😂 I just canned white chicken chili last week (turkey) and have two turkey breasts left to fry then all last .year’s turkeys will be used. They go on good sale here every year before Thanksgiving and I’ll be ready to buy more to can and use just like chicken. My main use for the canned turkey is chicken (turkey) salad. Our canning has changed from canning the whole garden to a lot of dry bean based meals. It has always been a way of life for my family too.
Hey There Ms. Lori, We love your videos, and yes we are proud Christians!!! I've canned food since I was young. I think everyone starts out canning green beans. Well I'm so glad to see someone who caqns butter! Finally I can preserve some butter! I did'nt want to can Ghee. Thank ypu so much for this!!! God Bless you two, and your family! Thank you again Janet in Pa.
I just finished 12 lbs of butter, got 13 1/2 pts. Some in the fridge, I only did 12 pts. It turned out beautiful! Past to my sister in law. My 87 yr old cancer surviving mother is got to love this Christmas present! I want you to know my mom calls me a through back. She never says what era. Thank you and God Bless you for this!!!
Hi Ms Lori, so sad I lost my 3 yr old sister yr Lori when I was 7. Always loved that name. I'm going and getting pig fat to render and can. 10+ lbs. Going to can it in qts. jars. The Amish just put it in 5 gal buckets, kept cold in basement and it stays good he told me. I'm going to can mine. I did 5 pints and it's great! No water in jars, put on tray and in oven 10 min. Fill jars, wipes rims and lids with vinegar paper and dry towel on lids or you'll get mold. I heat them in the oven @200° to reheat the lids and rings after filled. Gosh I hope I didn't forget anything. This is the good lard, not store bought. Thank you for all your tips also. God bless you guys, Janet
I'm doing the same thing. Cleaning out the freezer. Most of what I'm doing right now is dehydrating, but canning is mixed in as well. I've had the same concerns about losing electric and making as much food as possible shelf stable helps settle my mind about it all. Thank you for such calm and honesty mixed together.
@LierinEdana I live in east central Georgia and we suffered significant damage during Hurricane Helene. My subdivision was without power for 16 days. I don’t have a generator but had stored my eight one gallon containers of water in my large chest freezer hoping it would protect my food. It did for about 4-5 days but not for 16 days. I will not be using a freezer for long term storage ever again. I’ll can or dehydrate all my food for long term storage. Some areas in Georgia still do not have power and the hurricane hit September 27th.
Miss Lori, I just love your videos. Your voice is so relaxing & comforting. I love all beans! I am a bean freak.😂 I too am a little worried about the next few months. I’ve been doing a lot of canning myself. I’ve also been buying some bulk items. Never hurts to be prepared, just in case. Plus I love having my pantry shelves full. Praying for peace! Thank you for sharing your recipes & may God bless you & Mr. Brown.🙏♥️
I have been making my own 'maple syrup' since I can remember. 1 cup white sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup water, simmer 1 minute remove from heat add 1tsp maple flavoring. Have also substituted 2 cups organic cane sugar a and liked it also.😊
You look beautiful! I am going to be watching this for sure. I have started to have seizures and so when I'm out of it my guys will have something done that they can heat up. I also have freezer meals they love too
Husband not into stocking up too much. We are retired. Ive about with canning. Canned tomators, veggie soup mix with veggies from our garden. Green beans, jams, jellies, peppers, and some poultry anf beef. Its just tbe two of us. It makes me feel bad when he is not on board with it. Id rarher have food we grow than anything from the store.
Darlene my husband is the same way but canning is something I love and do a lot. I tell him he has his shop and I need to have something to do too. Canned for all 3 girls this summer and us so I have been busy. We have plenty of bad weather sets in or lights, water off or whatever. Do what you love dear. Time passes quick.
I found Superb lids and jars at our local General store and absolutely love them. when you look at the rubber on both Ball and Superb lids and the difference is eye opening.
I've canned butter for several years and never had a problem. I just finished up butter that I bought at $2 lb. It breaks my heart to pay more than twice that now to restock and can more, but I thank the Lord, He always provides. I find my baked beans taste better after they've been on the shelf several weeks. I think the beans absorb the flavor over time.
Welcoming the season! I love how you cook the big batch in your big pot, then can it all up in the BIGGEST POT. It gets the job done, plus a great way of filling the pantry---faster.
Awwww, thanks Miss Lori. Always a pleasure to see you. I LOVE baked beans. My family doesn't eat pork but I'm sure these beans are delicious with or without the extra meat. Butter sure is a controversial subject. I think the USDA hasn't tested canning butter yet. (if ever) It's not that they disapprove but until they test they can't approve. I made low pasturization method dill pickles, (USDA approved) They were the best and the most crunchiest pickle I've ever made. I shared this method on a canning group on FB and the owner called it rebel canning. I got this idea from a well-known and trusted TH-camr, Rose Red Homestead, She puts a lot of science into her canning. I just wanted to say thank you.
@suzyvance...the USDA is pretty much the same as the FDA and they just can’t be believed because they’re sinful money lovers like much of the rest of the world.
Thank you for sharing your method for the baked beans & butter, Lori. I’ve canned for many years, but have never done the baked beans, but I will & use your method. Saved this vid for reference. I too love baked beans. Always love your & Mr. Browns vids. God bless you both. ❤️
I love baked beans, and dish of cottage cheese and miss having a good hamburger with it. I am so glad you did this video for us; love spending time with you in the kitchen. God Bless you continuously and pray for all of your family every night. Especially Beau. What a treasure you are to my life.
Yes, I love some baked beans and I'm going to can a batch using your recipe, Ms. Lori! I began canning last year and have canned a lot of meat, veg and beans. Thank you for your help along the way. Love to you and Mr. Brown.
I love your dress it looks like its from Oaxaca Mexico. I had my husband pick out an apron from there when he visited family this lat spring with our daughter and his mom found out that it was my only request, so she insisted on picking another one out for me, so I was blessed with two beautiful hand made and embroidered aprons (we call them Delantals)
Hi Miss Lori. I grew up eating Libby’s beans. Oh how I loved them. I am 68 now and I have been searching for years for a recipe that tasted like them. Recently I found a Boston baked bean recipe that made me so happy. So yes I loved baked beans and I do can them. I may have to try canning butter, thank you for 5e video, 🌷🇨🇦
Mrs Lori, I'm looking forward to this video because I like to home can, especially beans. But first, I just wanted to say I really love that top you're wearing. It's so pretty and so are you!
Ms Lori, I've been away for a while, but when I came back to see your recent video I remembered how much I love you and your videos. God bless you my sister.
You are so helpful to teach us what we can and can’t can. And about fermentation of foods. We don’t know all theses things. Glad you are retired. My family loves you and Mr. Brown.
Just found you!! So excited to try this and get good at it!! It's my step dad's favorite meal- beans n weenies! So I could make him a healthier version that what he's used to! Thank you so much for opening up your home and sharing of your time and experience!
I absolutely adore you and Mr. B❤ Thank you so much for sharing these old timey canning recipes!! I can't wait to have butter on my shelf!! I don't care for Ghee. 🙏 I will be canning some baked beans too 🤤
I have canned butter, milk and cheese. All are not home canning approved but all have worked for me. I also can bacon, boiled peanuts and I also can macaroni and cheese.
I did meatloaf, full recipe by mistake--bread crumbs & egg. Turned out really good. ( I did at least use 87% , so avoided the big fat cap.) And frzr section meatballs. Those I spray oiled, under broiler to get some flavor, and processed in stock. Fab for pizza!!! Totally lost the rubber ball consistency bet were not mush! 😂
My mom makes baked beans for my children and they absolutely love them. But she puts hamburger in her baked beans. It's all depends on someone's taste of things. I hope you and Mr Brown are doing well have a blessed and wonderful week ahead. God bless yall from Forrest city Arkansas
I stopped eating hotdogs and bologna years ago. But hotdogs do taste great fried with potatoes. I keep a regular batch of beans canned, so I never run out. I decided to can baked beans. I filled the jars with par boiled bacon (2 slices), chopped onion, molasses, cooked beans, garlic. and a tablespoon of vinegar. I canned it exactly like that and each time I opened a jar, I added tomatoes and cooked on the stove until everything was cooked and reduced. All 6 jars were absolutely delicious.
Thanks so much for this recipe. I’ve tried a couple of others but we didn’t care for them. I did use the milder sorghum molasses and our favorite Show-Me BBQ sauce and these were fantastic!
Enjoyed this so much. I have canned baked beans but not butter so I am looking forward to trying butter. Wasn’t sure about it in the past but watching you encouraged me to try it. Thanks so much and God Bless y’all.
Loved watching the canning of butter it looked so pretty sadly I don’t have a pressure canner. I get all my butter from Aldi and freeze it. Have a great week looking forward to cookbook Friday.😊❤
I’m envious of your glass canning funnel! I’ve never seen one before, I too love the Superb lids. I’m looking for a few good soup recipes with ham in it to can. if you have any I would love to see them You and Mr Brown have a wonderful week. Love you channel
Another wonderful video!! Thank you so much for taking the time to be with you in your kitchen while you can, cook, and chat with us! I'm curious about canning hot dogs 🤔. Will you have time to show us all a video on that? God Bless you both and your whole family...including your loyal subscribers!! Love you bunches!!

So sorry about your sister pppassing sorry about your cancer love you and Mr brown and all your cooking
Your doing awesome!
Thank you, Janet in PA!
Have also substituted 2 cups organic cane sugar a and liked it also.😊
❤❤❤We're ready to see more pictures of when y'all were younger!! ...and a new intro😚
I haven't tried the baked beans yet, but after watching you, I think I will give it a try. Thank You. Linda
You look beautiful! I am going to be watching this for sure. I have started to have seizures and so when I'm out of it my guys will have something done that they can heat up. I also have freezer meals they love too
I am so sorry to hear about your seizures, but I think this is a great idea.
I've never seen a glass canning funnel before. I need to be doing some canning myself. Thanks for inspiring me!
I got that at a flea market
Thank you for showing us how to can butter!! I appreciate you!❤
Husband not into stocking up too much.
That's great information! Thank you for sharing.
this was so much fun, Ms. Lori, sittin' and watching you can! BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! so much love to you!
I'm back; I'm making these tonight along with breakfast sausage. Thank you for helping me stock the pantry this winter.
Wonderful!
Loved this video thanks for sharing.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Yes Thank you
Thank You Miss Lori !! I’m going to try your recipe, cos other ones I tried, they were not good !! You look so cute today !
I hope you like them.
You are such a treat to spend time with! Thank you!!
Thank you so much!
yes love sweet baked beans with bacon or dogs and also with cooked hamburger added yum yum
I know I am so tired of Walmart not regular grocery stores I can cry
Great video as always Lori, thank you for all that you do
Awwww, thanks Miss Lori.
If not USDA approved it's only because they didn't do it to approve it
I feel our ancestors have more knowledge then the government
@@WhippoorwillHoller I'm with you.
@@WhippoorwillHolleramen to that
Love watching Red Rose Homestead. Pam and Jim are great.
@suzyvance...the USDA is pretty much the same as the FDA and they just can’t be believed because they’re sinful money lovers like much of the rest of the world.
It is nice to have butter on the shelf.
I’m 57 and am going to be canning some vegetables with my daughters and granddaughters this weekend. A first for us all 💕
That’s so awesome! You’ll all have a great time!
Thank you, Lori. I am new to canning but old as the hills. You make it look easy. May the Lord bless and keep you both.
Thank you for your kind words!
Thank you, 😊
Yes, I love some baked beans and I'm going to can a batch using your recipe, Ms.
That's wonderful, I'm so glad you found a recipe you like!
Mrs Lori, I'm looking forward to this video because I like to home can, especially beans. But first, I just wanted to say I really love that top you're wearing. It's so pretty and so are you!

I absolutely adore you and Mr. B❤ Thank you so much for sharing these old timey canning recipes!! I can't wait to have butter on my shelf!! I don't care for Ghee. 🙏 I will be canning some baked beans too 🤤
Wonderful Thank you
I have canned butter, milk and cheese. All are not home canning approved but all have worked for me. I also can bacon, boiled peanuts and I also can macaroni and cheese.
I'm interested in how you canned the cheese. Did you water bath or pressure? If you pressure how long? Thanks
we just opened a jar of bacon I caned in 2015, it was great! I put it in the microwave for about a min, then let it sit a min, it crisped up nicely
I did meatloaf, full recipe by mistake--bread crumbs & egg. Turned out really good. ( I did at least use 87% , so avoided the big fat cap.)
And frzr section meatballs.
Mmm yes!
Oh Lori you are such an inspiration like all Apalachian women..The backbone of America, beautiful women, mother earth.God Bless you and all.

Yes, I love baked beans, yum! 😋 ❤
These beans look easy and yummy
You will love them!
Thank you for canning im going to be canning for the first time soon
Thanks so much for this recipe. I’ve tried a couple of others but we didn’t care for them. I did use the milder sorghum molasses and our favorite Show-Me BBQ sauce and these were fantastic!
Thank you Ms Lorie
God bless you and your family ❤️🙏❤️
You are so welcome
