Thanks for posting these - 97/98 I was teaching these kids - a new teacher they nearly killed me... stories are totally spot on. There are some that just could not be put on TV. But, these kids could be wonderful too once they knew you. Still the only place in 20 years I’ve had an entire table thrown at me.

I remember this being shown on Ch4 originally. Great film. Esp. as it makes use of mostly non-professional actors. Launched the lead actress Kelli Hollis's career as well. Where was it filmed again? Halton Moor? Belle Isle? Middleton? The music shop is 'Jumbo's' in the Merrion Centre, Leeds.

there are three films in the Tina trilogy where and what is the missing one, you have shopping and break, I forget the name of the missing one, I knew a kid who lived on this estate and we used to go to the pub the sphinx. rough and ready but a good laugh like all working-class areas that are vanishing fast, soon areas like this will no longer exist,

The audio is fuzzy and I have trouble making out what the male characters are saying so I’d have preferred subtitles but this is still good. I discovered it on letterboxd. So many colorful characters.
This is realistic! And the ciggies get sold door to door, some bizarre counterfeit,smuggled brands from Asia that smell like burning carpet. And the cheap vodka, regular dodgy batches that send people blind 😂 don't want to pay for anything and don't care what the consequences are 🤷
Except that this was released in 1999,and Blair came to power in 97!.... can't really blame Labour! I remember council estates that were worse than this in the late 80's when Thatcher was starting her great sell off.
