There was a period in the very early 90s on TOTP UK where all acts had to sing live on it..it was soon scrapped as people sounded awful/and some acts wouldn't go on it lol.
These days ( post millenial) the gender - confused ' movement' would be offended by the black girl wearing a blond wig ! Fuck I'm glad that I'm 45 and experienced life when people were happy and natural . The world these days is not the world we knew and loved. Big shout out to early generation X'rs

B J Garrett I totally agree with you BJ. What happened to the music. At the beginning, i thought it was me who lacked of taste for the music but when many people think in the same way as you about this shitting electronic dance music scene, you tell yourself that you are not wrong.
I saw them do half time set at Arsenal in the early 90s. Big mistake in front of 38000 testosterone charged football fans wearing what looked like fetish gear..

One of the few bands that had the balls to do live (vocals at least) on TOTP
+NJJ77 New Order are another one that refused to lip sync on TOTP. Two of my favourite bands funnily enough.
