If your contrast is low you can add an Brightness Contrast node. Then adjust so it’s higher contrast. You can always remove the node after tracking as it’s just for tracking. An edge detect node would also help in some cases. It will outline the object, use like contrast above during tracking.

Basically correct, but one problem with this approach is that when you color grade the clip, the text will get color graded too (which probably isn't what you want).

You didn't mention how to change the duration for the text :( Now the text is just constantly there. The tracking works, but I need the text to disappear after a while. Gotta figure out how to do that myself I guess
edit: Found out. Press the keyframes button on the top right under the fusion bar to trim the amount of time the text is applied.

In Joris tutorial, cutting the clip into smaller clips serves as duration limit.

Hi. Is there a way of tracking something that moves out of shot? I want text to track an object so it goes off the edge of the screen with the object it's tracking. I suppose tracker can't do this directly because it would have nothing to track once the object has disappeared. But can anyone think of a way of doing this?
