You can go borderline Cyberpsycho with the Edrunners Perk - thats amazing - especially running Amok with Johnny's Malorian and a good Sandevistan at hand or jumping and slicing from Enemy to Enemy with Mantisblades or a Katana
I went just 3 points under the maximum crome limit with edgerunner and as soon as I left the ripper chair my game crashed. I like to think my character went cyber psycho instantly
The fucking powertrip that i get whenever i turn on my apogee sandevistan and start slashing everyone with that laugh as a backtrack is something i never felt before
@@kikosawa certain optic cyberware highlights enemies so you can always see who's about to rip your hp in half, using sandy's like falcon or apogee are good for panic dodging or blocking if you're using something like a katana
First thing I did when 2.0 dropped was got my chrome and perks sorted on my strongest character, then went on a rampage. And MaxTac demolished me. The police being an actual presence and legitimate threat has made the open world x10 better.
or like, you are domolishing them but you miss a jump, you stand still for 1 second, your mitigation strength drops to 0% and you get ONESHOT from 100%hp to 0

My goal in Cyberpunk is simple: No matter what I do, I make sure the normal citizens of Night City aren't killed by me. So you could imagine my fucking suprise when I used a Sandevistan to break up a Scav rave and the Cyberpsycho EMP did more than just shock people. Shit looked like the climax of Carrie...
Glad to know my intuition was right lol. I'm doing the same thing with avoiding civilian casualties (even reloading saves) so I didn't wanna get that perk because I assumed I would kill on accident. Had something like it in Bioshock where melee hits would trigger an aoe electric discharge and hit nearby splicers.
The EMP is separate from the edgerunner perk, you don't have to be a cyberpsycho to pop ticking time bomb (that being said they're both unlocked at tech 20 so I can see why you thought they were paired)
I hated it because it kinda ruined using the Sandevistan for easy stealth. Forgetting to stop it right before it triggered and alerting everyone with a mile always sucked lol.
There's another perk that makes you generate electrical blasts. I pretty much always get both to go off at the same time. The lighting effects and the laughter look even crazier with the lightning spawning in on top of it.
@@SrGwynnbleid of course it has to have more pros than cons, just having a drawback for something as precious as a perk is already a lot. you already pay all other perks with a perk point and meeting the stat requirement. if we assume you're gonna fully lean on it since you wouldn't waste a perk point on that otherwise (and the fury buff is conditioned to your usage of the bonus cybercap). the benefits: - +50 cybercap - on kill 5% chance to get +10% dmg, +30% crit chance, +50% crit damage for 12s. the costs: - 1 perk point - max hp permanently reduced by 25%, which is a lot. multiplicative reductions and multiplicative increases are not the same thing. to match the 25% hp reduction, you would need to have 33% of hp increase. for comparison, the epimorphic skeleton cyberware only gives +13%, you would need to equip 3 of them to compensate.
Now imagine that laugh, but everyone in front of you is dying to Blackwall or Contagion, and you're finishing off everyone who isn't with a handgun and monowires. Feel like a god(dess).
This. Infinite Overclock with Synapse Burnout and Blackwall Gateway is legitimately terrifying lmao. 20/20/20 in INT/BODY/TECH turns you into an unkillable demon, dropping entire crowds in seconds with a glance. The only annoying thing for me is Edgerunner doesn’t kick in while Overclock is activated, so a lot of times it doesn’t trigger till after the combat encounter is over.
Got the perk active while I was doing the (Don't Fear) the Reaper ending. Was so confused, I didn't read what the perk did, I got it because I thought "Damn that pic of David goes so hard"
beyond the simple referential aspect, it'd make a lot of sense especially after the Edgerunners quest for V to be thinking a lot about David in the lead up to her assault on 'saka tower, so hearing his voice specifically really hits the thematic note in all the right ways.

At some point in dog town I got so focused on staying alive that I realized they Maxtac on my ass cause I got to 5 stars. Literally a cyberpsycho attack
The first enemy saying "Just had to be me. . ." after being blown to pieces by a giant shotgun is like getting thrown into an active volcano and mumbling "Aw geez. ." to yourself.
I was doing a side gig inside a club when it first happened and I thought the game was bugged since my character started dancing(I accidentally pressed dance lol)

The problem is that with high exploration and level even with legendary cyberware im barely at half of the perk's limit (and i had to swap to some cyberware that i dont realy like/need just to up those numbers). Thus making the fury state useless because it never procs or most of the time it procs for me after the fight (even before leveling up having max chance to proc was still too low). CDPR has to work around them cyberware scaling not only boosting the numbers up but also increase higher rarity cyberware install costs. With good luck you can find so many random cyberwaree storage shards that its crazy.
I have an update to this, I have been dipping into cyberpsychosis in game with all cyberware slots filled at legendary, over 700 armor etc, and recently when i enter cyberpsychosis state my (female) V will sometimes laugh instead of Davids laughter. AND i have begun releasing random EMP bursts during cyberpsychosis with no emp type cyberware. Has made saving hostages rather.. difficult

The fun new iconic weapons alone would get me, let alone the good sized story expansion and new zone. Definitely a breath of fresh dystopian air lol

Its all fun and games until fury goes off in a crowd of civilians, killing everyone with an emp blast and instantly giving you a 2 star wanted level.

My new way to play is using my sandevistan and just headshotting everyone in a room. It's the most satisfying and over powered thing ever.
Berserk buff with Sandevistan and Scalpel means you clean house like nobody's business

I love this perks so much but now that I'm grinding out the end game I've received so many capacity upgrades that it barely prox anymore 😢
Upgrade all cyberware to 5++ and use all the iconic cyberware thats available in Dogtown if you missed it and see if thats still the case haha

The EMP is from a different perk in the same skill tree. I cant remember its name but Edgerunner just gives you a damage boost, not an EMP
