This is how you create peace in the middle east. You should get the nobel peace prize! What a nice school garden, we never had any garden when I was in school.
Naema is so beautiful it is hard to imagine her getting dirty. Naema, you have done so much in so little time. It must be very rewarding to see your works inspire others. Bless you
I absolutely love to see the "green wave" of household after household, get the idea that they can do this too. And have a neighbor give them a hand to start. We in areas of the world where there is abundance of water forget how challenging it can be to do this on almost no rain. We really have no excuse, except not having the instruction on how easy it can be.
Alf mabrouk yah Naema and the community! So wonderful to see the small gardens planting seeds in the minds and hearts of the students to learn to grow. Thank you to Geoff and the Greening the Desert project -- so inspiring in difficult times.
If there is something more important than teaching people to grow their own food in a way that is self-sustaining please let me know what that is!!! This is amazing!!!
I've been lucky enough to stumble on your videos, and I've been binge watching them, you are a true inspiration, I hope that one day I'll be able to that in my home country, Iraq and collaborate with you. You are a hero of mine. Cheers from Canada
My heart is so full from watching this. This will spread and spread, I pray in my lifetime to see the dead sea completely green. When this happens rain will be more abundant, it will help and lead their neighboring countries.
We are re-greening the world one mind, one heart, one garden at a time… as one inspires one or two people every year or every few months, then those who take up the way inspire the same who inspire the same and the numbers begin to create an exponential curve of “green sprouting” gardening everywhere.
Thanks very much for the update, Geoff and Naema. We urgently need to see permaculture become the hub of climate policy. If we could devote the rest of this decade to restoring water tables on all continents we can offset icecap meltwater, and we can have GHGs absorbed by the added greenery. Everyone needs to know the ultimate value of what you are working on.
Permaculture is just the toolbox, not the policy. The beauty of permaculture is its versatility to work, with various tools from the toolbox, anywhere around the world.
From Abla's video to this. The progress of abundance is what I love to see the most. Best Jordan vid so to date. Thanks to Geoff and Naema! Naema, never stop whatever you're doing to make these pursuits so fruitful!
every time i watch your videos i remember an old story. i don't remember by whom and the exact location, but the story goes by a traveler enter a city and mesmerize by all around him is covered by edible plants (food forest)and anybody can just pick any fruit and eat them on the spot without worry. i just summarizing it, but i can't help recall this story since you show that it possible
Entirely glad for the permaculture motivation, follow through, and obvious results. Simultaneously, the social behaviors reveal a very closed human culture...
This is awesome thank you for sharing love seeing people changing the world in positive ways by changing their situation the more of us doing positive things specially when it's growing food and educate on growing food
There's a school in arid Arizona that collects all rain off of the school roof. Their garden is a hands on teaching lesson for the children. We need this everywhere in some form.
QUESTION: What is the hardiness zone there? Or can you tell me what the weather extremes are? Interested in knowing how hot it gets and how cold it gets. Also the amount of rainfall and growing days. I’m working on a project to help some native Americans in the desert to do something similar. This information would be helpful
How can I learn about growing food in a desert. I live in a desert and I'm trying very hard. It is very difficult and I would love to learn about the different plants and techniques.
Have you been watching all of Geoff’s videos about working in the desert? Have you tried out any of the methods he and his students and others have been using to successfully grow in these dry lands? If so, how is it going, and if not, what have been your challenges?
Have you watched al, the teaching videos on permaculture? Have you started in some small ways to experiment and asked others near you to watch with you and expand your experiment? How is it going?
I am sure there is a balance of goats and gardens that one can create… probably fewer goats until the gardens are well established, then a control on how many goats or other livestock can be in sustainable healthy balance .
Why did you ask her to join you to talk about the school garden and go into the neighbors yards to talk about their gardens , but then not even let her talk at all. Hmmm. I wonder what she was thinking?
I would rather ask her if she had wanted to talk than presume that Geoff didn’t let her talk. She spoke in another video and seemed shy about talking there, so I am guessing this was her choice. That she even accompanied Geoff is a blessing… to see the lady who followed his instructions and brought them to other places as well is awesome!

She is a champion.
We can see how a student turns to a teacher.
You plant a seed and it turns to a tree which produces a lot more seeds...
Good people doing good work. Very inspiring. You should all be very proud!

It is really awesome to see how Greening the Desert is catching on there.
What a beautiful green spot of peace! Thank you for sharing with us
I 'm so inspired.
We should regreen the entire planet!

exactly. well said.
@@laur-unstagenameactuallyca1587 Thanks Lauren. I hope that Permaculture is able to become active in SDG2030.

Permaculture is the way to go because it provides solutions, without restricting people. Unlike all the doom and gloom we hear everyday.
You are correct, this video is truly inspiring. I'm inspired here in Decatur GA USA. Thank you ⛅ 🌎 🌙
Marvelous to see something positive coming out of that part of the world instead of the usual doom and gloom, good luck to them all.

Same here. I saw Abla’s video and came next to this and feel such joy that these things are “sprouting” up here and there and spreading!!

Get them moringa seeds... they would not need meat protein, which will help sustainability
Lovely.. now i see moringa. Does Sesbania survive there?

Isn't farming much better than just letting goats ravage everything & having to pay everyone else for basic sustenance?

Where was this village? Surely not in Australia, was it? If so, where in Australia?
This is in Jordan.
This is quite amazing, couldn't this be applied to Aussie to green the desert, and possibly reduce these fires? Are Willows still banned in Aussie?
@@keithfoxton5836 Have you seen Geoff’s other videos of his place Zeytuna Farm? Look at those… in Australia I believe.
