This video brings nice memories of my stay in Mombasa. I lived in Kizingo just next to Mombasa children's home on David Kayanda road between 2001 to 2004. I am amazed by the increase of flats. Back then there were bungalows and maisonettes mostly belonging to Kenya Railways, Postal corporation and Kenya Ports Authority senior staff. Those apartments at 9:36 on your left is what was David Kayanda Railway estate. I guess they are set for demolition.
@@NabzArah use a flight, or shuttle or bus, train is a no for me, it's extremely cheap but time wasting, maybe when SGR train reaches there, then using train will make sense.
Kizingo suburb, located on the city's island, is where Mombasa's rich first lived and still live there. However, due to space for neighborhood expansion, Nyali suburb took over the mantle by virtue of its location on the mainland of the county. Kizingo is where State House, Mombasa is located. I grew up in Kizingo at a senior civil servants house as well. Beautiful neighborhood and I'm very nostalgic about my couple years there.

Thank you for a tour of Mombasa. It is mind blowing how much money there is in Kenya. Keep in mind that each one of these building is owned by a Kenyan. That goes to show why this is a $130 billion GDP economy, although I suspect the true number is in the $200 billion range once you fully account for the informal sector. This is a hustling economy. Everyone is doing something, or busy looking for new opportunities. It’s difficult to find folks sitting around doing nothing. In Kenya if you do not work you do not eat, so everyone is busy. Thank you for the great content.

Hi Nabz. I have for two years been among the first people to watch but will get back to watching your videos when you leave this country. Your vlogs' comments have always been free from negativity but all changed ever since you travelled here. All the best and will be back later for Ugandan content. Regards to Annushka.
I have noticed you're always copy pasting this same comment all over the vlogs. Can you please heal from this negativity yourself cos you always sound like these people who brand anybody with a contrary opinion a hater when no one is even hating on you.Criticism must be expected in content creation and we wont be shooting just to please you.Sorry to tell you but some of us have been in this channel since day one but we don't nag this much and still we do enjoy contents that aren't from our native countries.

Mombasa rich class left Nyali and Kizingigo and settled in Vipingo Ridge, some 37 kilometers away
Wow, let me research about vipingo ridge and see if I can go check it out
A select few. I believe Nyali is still popular with the wealthy in North Coast and Diani/ Ukunda town locations in South Coast.
I've seen at least two areas he drove you through. I have been to.
Amazing
Another eye opening look at an area where the wealthy live.
Apparently this is for rich, about to explore where the wealthy live
Maybe you should go back to UG via Kisumu so that you can show us Kisumu. Its cheap when you use a train from Nairobi. Kisumu looks like Kigali 💯💪
I looked up the train details and it takes 12hrs and only leaves on Friday 🥲 my issue is with the 12hr journey, it's too long
@@NabzArah use a flight, or shuttle or bus, train is a no for me, it's extremely cheap but time wasting, maybe when SGR train reaches there, then using train will make sense.
Yeah very time wasting. I'll look at the bus prices
@@NabzArah You can book a return ticket flight to Kisumu. Fun fun fun...enjoy.
Kizingo is where semi-rich live, the very rich people live in Nyali.
I'm going to checkout Nyali too

I went to mama ngina in a separate video. You guys will see more of kizingo in that video
