Candy is a remake of h.o.t sm’s and kpop’s first ever idol boy group, it’s a remake not cover, remake is when they re made song as their own, so this ver. of song is their own.
candy is a title track for their special winter album, but it was actually h.o.t’s bside track that did really well and saved sm back then
NCT Dream have said that they wanted to give the song their own colour, but also wanted to respect original colour of the song, although they changed a lot of choreo, at the same time they didn’t (?), idk how to explain 😆 but they really did a good job with a remake, which we can say seeing their results in korean music charts, until today they maintained their spot in top10 for 2 months, so i think they did a really great job

I think the signs are lyrics from the song. At least “we are the two as one”.
I assumed that the MV ended with Haechan waking up from the dream. But then the monster melted, so maybe he was still asleep after all.
But I’m really bad at interpreting MVs so don’t take my word for it.

Thank you for the reaction! 😊 I think the signs in Best Friend ever are part of the NCT Storyline, because that is about Dreams and the Connection of dreams etc. But i am not sure, thats just my theory ^^

in my opinion it’s about breaking of first love/relationship’s fantasy, boy was insecure, cuz girl wasn’t showing of their relationship, eng trans. says he compared girls, but it’s more like he compared other girls in relationship with their other significant, they were openly dating, but not them, so he said “while others kiss, i always stay behind you” and “one morning he decided” to end everything, before she ends, to not get his heart broken, but then when he met her to break up, he then “realised that they stand under the same sky”(they probably talked about everything) so then he said that he still loves her and “promised to stay by her side”
