Two things: 1) Songs in a lot of bollywood and other regional movies just show some part of their life and relationship, which need not be considered to have happened over just a few days. It might have happened over months. Thats how in a lot of cases songs take the movies forward and doesn't focus on the less imp things. 2) Aamir Khan needed to hold someone's hand for hours in order to transfer the language so, he holding someones hand or someone holding his hand for a few minutes would not matter. Songs in bollywood are kind of used to show the passage of time in a condensed way so through the song we get the timeline of them being friends to falling in love over a significant period of time. Indians are not stupid. We don't get married after two days of meeting a person.

Man! You should have just bought /rented on youtube or watched on a streaming platform. The experience would have been exponentially better. The context is often misunderstood because of these subs. These subs are basically straight up translations (which as you can see are grammatically wrong ) and still often deviate from the actual meaning. The whole subtext is lost. The subs i saw on Netflix managed to integrate the context very well as they were mindful of foreign audiences. I am sure youtube(the paid version) had great subs too. What you are watching is basically a pirated copy of the movie with fanmade english sub. I kinda feel sorry for you . For example : the mom asking jaggu whether she wants to wear hijaab?, Mr.Tapaswi is more like "His Holiness", Tapaswi accusing sarfaraz of wooing Jaggu only for carnal pleasure, etc. an this is just 4:00 minutes into the reaction. Edit : I am not even gonna add more subtext. There is way too much. Not gonna lie though, your interpretation of the characters is totally different because of the subs and it is kinda funny 😂😂 .

Don’t pay too much attention to them, this movie was never meant to be against any religion, and was a blockbuster success at its time of release. Its main message was not letting religion create extremely unpleasant divides among people, and to not just blindly believe in people “communicating” with God since a lot of them are fake making money off religion. Rather, we should have our own personal connection with God and not let contradicting beliefs ruin our perspectives of individuals in general. Idk how to explain it but you’ll get it after watching the movie. Most people loved this movie, but a small percentage didnt get the true message of the movie so they got offended🤦🏻♀️ its NOT hating on Hinduism, in fact the director himself is a Hindu
The fun part is that when she looked the letter the very first she is saying it was a letter from Sarfraz...Then why in the end, when she was recollecting these events during the face off btw Pk and Tapasvi, she says it was just a letter with no name and signature?
