Mine has just arrived and these days I will be installing it in my Sti 2020. I realized that in the box, the adjustment screws came loose and missing 1. Will it be easy to get?
Hey what's up! Sorry to hear you are missing parts. I don't think that exact bolt can be found. I would contact the company you bought from and ask for them to mail you the oem bolt. If not, you may consider purchasing an equivalent strength stainless steel metric bolt from a hardware store but I am not sure if that is safe or not. Hope you get it solved fast!!
Acoording to the STi website, this strut tower brace needs to use with flexible draw stiffener (Part No. ST20118VV000). And a very interesting note states by Subaru that the this Tower Brace CAN NOT be installed on left hand vehicle. I'm sure it's not a mistake, this note is on WRX/STi, WRX S4 and Levorg STi (which all three were basically the same car chassis wise) I'm not sure what the deal is....
Hey what's up! That's interesting...when I purchased the item back in 2018, there was no disclaimer about needing the FDS installed in conjunction. I don't see the LHD disclaimer on the STi website anymore but I remember it was due to the bar running really close to the brake fluid reservoir. My car is USDM and the WRX S4 strut tower brace fits just fine. FDS was the best piece of equipment I have installed on the car to date for performance vs $.
@@j168vlogs Hey man, I just checked the LHD disclaimer is still there and here is the link www.sti.jp/en/parts/wrxsti_va/chassis/ST20502VV010/ I asked around a few dealers and rallsportdirect and they don't know anything about it. I think you are right, the brake fluid reservoir is located at different place for RHD. Thank you so much for pointing it out.
@@Align700nitro No problem man! There is a user on NASIOC that goes by Archer1.8, he made a few comments on some of my videos but he has extensive knowledge about JDM parts with a build thread on his Type RA. He's pretty helpful. forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2901281&page=3
@@SonikJesus Hey what's up! I second that, Archer1.8's build is incredible JDM goodness lol. He didn't do the legendary turbo upgrade but he has the same muffler on STi th-cam.com/video/inbr9L-Rdh4/w-d-xo.html. He drives a S209 now so that is pretty much as good as it can get!
Hey what's up! The M6 hex nuts are 11.1 ft lbs (15 Nm) and the flange nuts are 14.8 ft lbs (20 Nm) according to JDM instructions for 2017 WRX. Have fun!
@@j168vlogs I tried and it doesn't fit 😞. I have the grimspeed tmic and I could get it past that but the IAG AOS sits about 1/4 inch to high. I really like your videos and wanted to do all oem suspension upgrades for my wrx.
@@Dillz107 That's disappointing news to hear but at least they make other strut tower bars that will work with the AOS. Thanks for watching the videos! If you do all the other STi suspension mods, you will not be disappointed. I hope you still keep the STi strut tower bar and make it work out for you one day! It's an engineering jewel for chassis modifications. If you ever get the chance, let me know how your WRX build is going!
It's a nice piece of equipment with the pillow ball design. I could feel stable straight line steering when boost kicked in. What's interesting about the OEM design was STi focused on tire grip rather than chassis rigidity which I think is important for street drivability. Just make sure you get the model specific one for your car (STi/WRX).
Thanks for this, loosened the bolts on either end and it managed to fit.
just installed this on my 2020 STI and it dramatically changed steering response! have some of the other s209 parts to install tomorrow!
Awesome! More S209 parts you’d say?? You’re STi is going to be a beast on the road lol. Have fun!

Hey, great video! How did you remove the M6 screws?
Hey what's up! Thanks!! I used metric hex sockets that fit onto a torque wrench and torqued to 11.1ft-lbs
Good thing I didn't sell my it came with car
What torque spec did you use after putting on the tower brace? Some say 14.5 lbs others say 24lbs?
