    Nobody will ever convince me that the 1990 TMNT movie is not just a cinematic masterpiece. Amazing work with this vid.

    This World Record progression video is the best TMNT WR progression video ever. Summoning Salt could not do better.

      Thank you so much. This is for sure a very close subject to my heart. TMNT was the game that taught me so many things. First to never be attached to a run. Second that breaks are good, and lastly that practice is important. Nothing worth doing comes easy.

      @@driftingatoms I look forward to your upcoming runs. I don't like to look a speedruns as a mearsure of time but by all the tricks you get in the run. Yes they are time saving tricks, but for me it's not about time but process. Good luck! With the tricks you know sub 17 is achievable, it all in the execution.

      Lol that clip was from an Australian news segment reviewing the TMNT toys to show how they weren’t meant for kids. The entire things is hilarious. I’ll have to refund the original video for you. Also thank you for your support! I love making these. Edit: here’s that Australian video th-cam.com/video/hoadYpSNWb0/w-d-xo.html

    My best time is 27 minutes or something lol. Which I'm damn well proud of. I can do the high jump but I can't figure out how to do the ceiling glitches.

    • @driftingatoms
      @driftingatoms  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly, just being able to beat this game is an accomplishment to me. Once the ceiling glitches click for you it will become much easer. Kind of odd timing mixed with small success windows.

    • @Widderic
      @Widderic 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      True, I was born in 87 with an older brother so we played this well into my teens and never beat it. Then when I was 24 I made it my mission to defeat shredder. Now I'm 36 and I want to at least do sub 20 min. I'm dissecting your Speedrun Guide right now.
      As a videographer/editor of 20 years my hat is off to you for how well put together your videos are, I appreciate the service you've done for the tmnt nes community, you should be proud!@@driftingatoms

      I believe in you! You for sure can get a sub 20 minute time. The TMNT tutorial was the first video I ever created. It taught me a lot about editing and more importantly. Taught me that I love creating content.
      I've been creating content for a couple years now and still love it as much, if not more, than when I first started.
      Thank you so much for the kind words. That seriously means a lot. Especially coming from someone who's been in the videographer/editor game for 20 years.
      I'm currently working on Episode 4 of Retro Stuff TV as well as another secret project that I hope to unveil in April.

      First video? That's great! Following and I will keep an eye out for your next project. Yeah I started back in the late 90's early 2000s on Hi-8 tape and Mini Dv and then eventually to SD cards and DSLRs like most people do now. By the time the youtube content creation came to fruition I was already graduated and doing freelance but I have a different career now.
      I do plan on getting a capture card so I can create my own content, it's just tough with a full time job but I'm gonna try to start something up in March. I may even need some tips from YOU! Cheers man and keep it up!@@driftingatoms

    You couldn't find a better picture for your thumbnail than some shoddy fan art? Did you not notice the fifth turtle (Venus) awkwardly inserted?
    At least it's not that "Hogsmeade" image for a change...

    • @driftingatoms
      @driftingatoms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually chose that intentionally because I found it funny and wondered who would notice. Almost changed it because it’s so silly but in the end it’s too funny not to use.

  • @grandmastermario3695

    My goal is to just simply beat the game, on switch with unlimited continues, but I have officially speedrunned, 3 other tmnt, I have never got a WR for a tmnt game though, i just do it for fun.

    • @driftingatoms
      @driftingatoms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve considered making an “I just want to beat the game” tutorial and may someday but won’t be for a while. You could use the speedrun Strats from this
      (TMNT (NES) Complete Speedrun Guide
      th-cam.com/video/GClHWoHg5Oo/w-d-xo.html)
      and for sure beat it though. I believe in you!

    Will you do this with all the TMNT games?

    • @driftingatoms
      @driftingatoms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's not a bad idea at all. Hadn't even considered it. I speedrun this game so it's close to my heart. I think doing it for some of the other games could be super fun though.

  • @OmnistrikeRZ
    @OmnistrikeRZ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Putting nostalgia aside the game was bad, it was basically if someone who had the 80's TMNT cartoon explained to them then they explained it to a blind computer programmer.

    • @driftingatoms
      @driftingatoms  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be fair they didn’t have a ton of reference material to go off of. That being said i had nostalgia for the game and when I first attempted it I didn’t love it. The speedrun However is amazing. It’s my favorite speedrun because it has all the right amounts of technical starts and rng.
