- Took a drive around the District of Kyrenia/Girne, on Friday 25th, 2022. Here is a beef history about the most beautiful city of North Cyprus.
Kyrenia as been called by the Greek Cypriot, Girne been called by the Turkish Cypriot, is a city on the northern coast of Cyprus, noted for its historic harbor, Luxury apartment, Hotels and castle. It is under the control of Turkish Cypriot.
In addition to its historical harbor, Kyrenia is home to a port named the Kyrenia Touristic Port, opened in 1987. This port is a major transport hub in Northern Cyprus due to its relative proximity to Turkey and is home to important commercial activity, while being a popular place of entry for tourists who choose to travel by ferry. It has contributed greatly to the flow of commercial products and tourists between Turkey and Northern Cyprus
The city's population was almost equally divided between Muslims and Christians in 1831, with a slight Muslim majority. However, with the advent of British rule, many Turkish Cypriots fled to Anatolia, and the town came to be predominantly inhabited by Greek Cypriots. While the city suffered little intercommunal violence, its Greek Cypriot inhabitants, numbering around 2,650, fled or were forcefully displaced in the wake of the Turkish invasion in 1974. Currently, the city is populated by Turkish Cypriots, mainland Turkish settlers, and British expats, with a municipal population of 33,207.
Today the City has seen a massive improvement, both in land scape an architecture, making it one of the most visit tourist destination on the Island, even if the North part of the Island is still fighting it way to be recognized.. The North side of the Island is currently under the Turkish rule since the conflict between Greece an Turkey back in 1974, which result to the division of the Island .
Called a "very vibrant city" by the Near East University, Kyrenia is the center of tourism in Northern Cyprus, and one of the most important cities of Cyprus in terms of tourism. It hosts numerous shopping areas and malls, restaurants and a vibrant nightlife with a number of entertainment facilities. The harbor, in particular, is lined with cafés, bars and restaurants frequented by locals and tourists. In 2009, it had 93 hotels, nine of which had five stars.
In early 2000s, the city and the surrounding area saw a construction boom due to the positive mood created by the Annan Plan for Cyprus. Between 2001 and 2003, construction cases per year increased by more than three times and the city saw a great amount of property being sold to foreigners. The construction boom resulted in the building of numerous housing estates and apartment buildings. The city continued to receive heavy investment throughout the decade and is still a center of investment. However, the recession that struck Northern Cyprus at the end of the 2000s and the beginning of 2010s affected the city and caused great difficulty for the small-scale entrepreneurs and shop owners to maintain their businesses. An important part of the economy consists of tourists that come to visit casinos, but this does not necessarily provide benefits for the local businesses.
Kyrenia/Girne has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate with long, dry and hot summers and cool winters with mixed weather of sunny spells and rain.

Northern Cyprus seems to be a spectacularly beautiful place with gorgeous vistas. It may be less commercialized than the South but what it has managed to achieve in spite of being isolated and embargoed is quite remarkable. My hope is that in the future Northern Cyprus will continue to develop both touristically and economically and its isolation will end, despite the braying of its neighbours.
Hopefully 🙏
The north part of the Cyprus, is occupied by Turkey since 1974
MILITARY OCCUPYED AREAS
The majority of all those, are still our Stolen lands and properties
It was only tow years AFO , that a Turk , Mafia leader , blaming the Turkey's president , saying that they had an agreement about the occupied areas, to becomes a Drug dealers bade and a money laundering area

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus! Read what happened before 1974 and EOKA. Do not believe greek lies
Go home to Eastanatolia
Kyrenia ,
is a pure, original Greek town .!
Since 1974 , as well with the north part of Cyprus, is under Turkeys MILITARY OCCUPATION
Turkey
Invaded, kicked out the local population, been replaced them till on our days, mainly by Turks, settlers from its mainland
You always complain Turks this Turks that. If you didn't start to kill innocent Turk civilians , you would have still lived there, but Greeks wanted to wipe out all the Turks from the island. To kill all the Turks in front of Turkiye. Now you have your part, Turks have theirs. And stop crying.
As a foreigner I can say it is less developed then in Cyprus...
There are no a lot of people in the street. Why?
That must the about the harbour area
There usually it
Cyprus is Turkish and will remain Turkish. Implementing an embargo does not change this fact.
These are occupied lands. Always was and always will be Republic of Cyprus. Northern Cyprus is a non entity.
South cyprus is far more beautifull than north
