You know, leaving aside Batman's personal code, there is also a practical reason for not killing.
The police can tolerate a vigilante that's not a murderer, but if Batman went all Punisher or Paul Kersey, then it be open season on him.
Batman just captures them alive and lets the system do its job, which is perfectly fine.

@@lucaschannel726 No they shouldn’t. There are perfectly good reasons for heroes to kill villains at times, and killing a villain doesn’t automatically make you a bad person. In fact it can make you a hero at times.
Batman is actually a GREAT example of this. He constantly captures the Joker for the police to just throw him in Arkham for him to not reform at all, break out and kill and hurt more people, whereas if, after like the upteenth time Batman has had to capture the Joker after he’s killed, tortured, or severely traumatized yet another person, Batman just said “Frik it” and killed him, Joker wouldn’t be out on the street anymore to continue to hurt and kill innocent people. He’s literally protecting the citizens of Gotham by just killing the joker because his current method of just capturing him and letting the police throw joker into some dinky asylum is doing literally jack squat to keep the citizens of Gotham safe. You tell me which is more heroic.
Sure, I guess not killing the villains will maybe get Batman on the police department’s good side.(Which even then is debatable because in some iterations he works with the police and in others the police hate him just as much as they do actual criminals even tho all he does is capture the villain(Spider Man is another GREAT example of this)). But if the police department and the government he’s working with are just complete buffoons, and their due process is just putting every villain who murders and hurts people in some rundown asylum that doesn’t actually help any of them reform at all, just for them to easily break out, and continue to hurt and kill people, how’s that help anyone? How’s that keeping the citizens safe? How is anything of productive value being achieved? If you know these guys have killed and hurt people before, they’ve been caught, broken out, and continue to hurt and kill people, show absolutely no signs of remorse or reform, and if given the chance will continue to hurt and kill people, and you just kill them so that they won’t hurt or kill anymore people. That’s literally the most heroic thing you can do in that situation.
I literally started shouting at my TV "No your not!!!" When Kate was telling that man how she stands for "integrity" "hope" "selflessness" and so on🤦

@@thoriasunlimited4053 they should change the show to Alice in Gotham-land. She (Alice) is the only built up character with a mostly solid arc. If they killed off kate and made Alice batwoman, it would almost be a real heroes journey. I mean it's still mostly bad, however, Alice really is the best thing this excuse for a show has to offer.

12:57 Cartwright thought Alice was dead last episode. How in the world does this plan even make sense?
As near as I can figure out... he thought Alice was dead, told Mouse she was dead and then put him on the fear toxin to mentally break him, but when Alice turned up alive, he amended the plan to involve her saving Mouse, thus making him think she was a hallucination and therefore the enemy.
Well .... the explanation is easy, there's still some residual uncertainty in the world after the multiverse collapse so he actually put the plan in motion in an alternate timeline, then killed Beth (Alice) and change his play yet in another timeline, when those 2 timelines collided, the result was visible in EP 15. Does that make sense ? I guess much more than the rest of the show ...

If I was faced with an actor as bad as Ruby Rose, I'd tell her that her character has suffered an injury making her UNABLE to emote. Then I'd film and see what happens. Worst-case: I'd make that her actual backstory.

My Dude, the Writers never put any real effort into Batwoman. When have they ever actually given up?
Okay, I will defend Batwoman a *little* bit. Kidnapped victims often will have opportunities to leave but they don't because they are either so terrified of being caught by their captures or they are so brainwashed that they just don't leave. Once captures feel they have enough control over their victims they will leave to go to work or go to the store, their victims will stay there. Sometimes the victims will even be with them but they're so scared that they just won't ask for help. You also see examples of when children are kidnapped and they're there for years, they are sort of brainwashed. I remember watching some crime show (2020 maybe) and this boy was kidnapped when he was a child, the kidnapper moved him to a rural part of the area and homeschooled him. Then the boy actually went to high school but it wasn't until years later that the boy was reunited with his family. So it's not terribly unrealistic that Beth would not try to escape, especially when she is still a kid. If I was in her situation, I would probably be too scared to try and leave and I've got 10 years on Beth.
What's with Kate's sudden opposition to killing? If she is opposed to killing, why did she even join the military? What did she think she was going to be doing there, delivering Girl Scout cookies? Also, what about all those times she tried to kill people? Like the time she pushed Mouse into something that impaled him and would've killed him if the show used logic? Or the multiple times she has tried to strangle Alice? Or the people she got killed due to negligence?
The reason why Alice was able to drag Cartwright’s unconscious body to the roof without being noticed by anyone was because the script said so. Duh! 🤷♂️

Been watching both your reveiws, and Az from Heels vs baby face, since this show started. You an Az have become my favorite people in TH-cam lately. And I've enjoyed both channels relatively equally. But for this episode, I think you had the better review. Az seems to have snapped completely. 45 minutes of maniacal laughter, sounding more cracked then Mark Hammils joker at his most manic. You seem to be holding your sanity in tact a little better... good job, Thorias.
Don't give me too much credit. The season is over yet and my sanity is hanging by a thread as it is.

I thought that the differences in character and philosophy between her and Batman made for some very compelling stories. Well, Kate got kicked out of military school a week before graduation. I guess the last week is when they covered all the first aid stuff.
@@@thoriasunlimited4053 I was in for a year and we had exactly two days of medicalish training. Mostly that was about gas, burns and tying miscellaneous vegetation to imaginary broken limbs. In practice they just give you a standard issue bandage that will probably never be used and tell you not to fall down any cliffs. And if you do, please crawl as close as possible to the nearest pit so it'll be quicker to shovel it in. Two people died that year. One somehow managed to sink into a frozen lake while sleeping inside an armored vehicle and the other died in a car accident while going home for Christmas. He was very rude and always refused in insulting fashion to share his tobacco. And the camp seemed a lot more upset about losing their armored vehicle than a soldier. Weird year. Not very qualified in medicine after it.

The characters on this show have the power to open plot holes for travel which is shall call a plot warp. How did Moose know where to ram Kate's bike; plot warp. How did Alice get the dad on the police roof without notice; plot warp.

Do Canadian writers understand, that if the Police in a U.S. city can't keep it under control-they get shut down and the Police in the next county take over until state and government decide what to do...this means a private security team would NOT be hired. The Canadian writers seem to get carried away and watch too much FLASHPOINT(the show that looks like they try to morph into BATWOMAN by calling them "Crows"). F this show...worst of all the CW Arrowverse shows.

Yeah, I thought Mouse's coherency after hours inhaling the Fear Toxin was weird. And with Alice, too, the hallucinations seemed to turn off like a light switch when the breathing mask was removed.
The affidavit may be nullified by the revelation of who Campbell really is, but it wouldn't undo everything considering proving that Cartwright was impersonating Campbell would at the same time prove that the thigh-mask (which is what the skin is actually from, though I'll never stop laughing at how you say it) is a legit thing.
I don’t want to seemed that I am giving the writers too much credit but I was thinking these writers are leaning into that notion that Kate is no hero. It seemed like they are trying to create redemption story arc for her and Alice to go on as sisters without them doing time like Barry and Oliver did for their crimes. During the Crisis, older Bruce told her that she would go too far and start killing. It makes me wondered if they were foreshadowing this storyline. I don’t think the writers actually think Kate was wrong in killing Bruce but justified for saving Supergirl. On another episode, Kate helped out a teenage lesbian on some serious crimes so the show seems to be saying that toxic masculinity is what needs to be punished but actually crimes of minority group doesn’t really matter. I guess that is the rules of this universe now.

It's all just virtue-signalling to the point of destroying even the foundation that *they* laid out for the show/universe. Attempted murder of doezens of people? Identity theft? Hacking, and attempting to rob massive amounts of money? Male (especially straight and white)? Beaten to a pulp and left to be arrested. Female? *maybe* beaten and arrested. Female and LGBT? All bets are off, Batwoman will *literally* help you escape punishment.

Both Rachel Skarsten and the actor for Cartwright were in the Fifty Shades of Grey films (Rachel in the first, Cartwright in the last).

You gave me a enjoyment for the day Thorias Unlimited. Reviewing another Batwoman episode complete with abominable script writing and plot development that makes no sense, it feels like we are experiencing a very bizarre dream as we sleep in bed. I can't believe this waste of a television series is filming in my city. With a title like: The Writers Have Officially Given Up. I thought they threw in the towel and said: "We can't do this crap anymore! Everything we do with these episodes turns to trash! Let the series bomb! We have had enough!!"
Me and a friend of mine who heard of the Batwoman tv show:
Friend: There's a Batwoman, that's cool. What can you tell me about her?
Me: She's gay.
Friend: Oh, ok, that's neat. What else can you tell me?
Me: She's gay.
Friend: Ok, you said that already. Is there anything else?
Me: She's Batman's cousin.
Friend: Oh that's cool. Is there more?
Me: She's gay.
Friend: That's the third time you've told me that. Tell me something you haven't said already

A wonderful start, it will only get better.
First Alice is able to walk right into Wayne Towers with security resistance (Episode 13) and now she somehow gets into the police station with no resistance either. (From the thousands of police working there.) At this point Alice could walk right into Gotham Ctiy Hall, head straight up to the mayor's office and kill him... and nobody would stop her. No security guards, no police, no crows, no resistance.

I don't watch Batwahman just your reviews of the show. So I have literally no context. The timing on the first part of the video almost made it look like you were reacting to my reaction. My reaction being "WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!" followed by maniacal laughter

One of the biggest flaws in this show is clear when you compare Kate to Oliver Queen. Oliver acknowledged that he was a murderer, and while he tried to put that behind him, he didn't pretend that he was Captain Integrity. He always struggled with the two sides of himself, and worked to make himself better. He was flawed, and strived to become a better person.
Kate, on the other hand, can murder people and still pretend that she is a saint. She is a Mary Sue, and no matter how bad she fucks up, the show pretends that she is perfect and amazing in every way.
Oliver Queen will always be a true Hero.
