Great video buddy,I remember printing one of my photos years ago and its in my hallway,it still makes me proud when people come in my house and say "wow nice picture" and I say "I photograph that"
Good stuff, Adam. There is something so satisfying about a tangible, physical print. For the last several years I have primarily printed my landscapes on Metal prints. Lots of wow, durable, great hanging options from the lab I use.

Hello Aden, I totally agree I love printing. I only print up to A2 but so nice to print an image on good paper, and the hang it on the wall it's great.

Great vlog today. I love getting my photos printed. Can't wait till I save up for a good photo printer so I can have full control. The one thing you could have talked about, and maybe you have before, is increasing resolution in camera by taking multiple images and combining them in Photoshop. What do you think of that process?

Great vlog mate and awesome tips. I’m using the 3m command strips for smaller images and light frame that look great and don’t damage the paintwork. Will check out the print shop as looking for a good print house as well so will check them out. Cheers Jase
Many thanks for another great video, I really like these sort of techno, tactile ones. For those with Adobe, Camera raw has a new feature, Enhance, (this will come to lightroom soon) found in the drop down, basically it makes your images four times larger, with a bit of fancy computing, the results I have so far are superb, it is better than resizing in photoshop, with preserve details 2. Well worth giving it a go. I would like to see Adam, use this on one of his 100MP files to see the results, the result would be a 400MP file and the print size would be huge.

Have you tried a good canvas printing? I printed two images on a 16X20 inches canvas by a company in the US and it was a test for me, each time I looked at the images I liked them even more. With canvas printing I do not have to worry so much of damaging it upon handling it and also I used a clean cotton towel and cleaned it with some mild water and it didn't change the look of it.
Best lenses and best sensors for big prints. The best lenses in the world won't help you if your camera has an inferior sensor, and vice versa. Big prints are great! Topaz Gigapixel AI is a great aid in getting the best really large prints. I really love Canson and Hahnemuhle papers. Canson has extremely good tonal hold out in shadow detail. But! it's just me, but a photo isn't finished unless it's framed. I know tht's not too popular these days, but I frame all of mine.

Oh woow that looks amazing. I was trying to do my large print on canvas and it's so hard to balance the contrast and image brightness due to the absorbance of the paper. any advice?
Love this video on printing - thanks a lot. I would like some advice on how to exhibit for say bookstores. I would like to display big without mat, (and maybe not frame also) as I believe that sometimes they distract from the image. Do people buy images on foamboard? Wondering how you approach exhibiting and selling in this respect?

Great large prints.....I like the mouthing to the brick with Velcro. How easy is it to remove the print without damaging, My experience with Velcro is you need to give it a good umpf..to separate it. Thanks so much.
Very information video. Would like to know your take on 2 other prints, Metattic prints and Canvas prints. Especially Canvas prints you can get it rolled or mounted.
It would be interesting to hear your thoughts/experience with the new "super-resolution" in the latest Adobe Camera Raw. Some people are raving about it, although I've not seen appreciable improvements on my (already) high-resolution images.

Thank you for showing the process. I have always wondered if these big prints, lose their colors through time? Especially if they are expose to daylight or direct sunlight? I remember back in college, we use to laminate the print, to protect it against lights.
Can we export fro Lr? Maybe some more info on how you export from Ps (eg what file format, do you specify dpi) ? How are you sure the printer Co is going to interpret the colour or the brightness the correct way?
Hello Adam, often I send my digital image to the printers. But when the print returns to my home I find that the print is on the soft side. Should I ensure that I use the masking tool in Lightroom Classic to compensate for this or would you suggest another formula. Ps. I never use Photoshop...
Hello Adam. This is exactly I been looking for. I wanted to have my own photo hanging on my wall. But I still looking for camera. Is Canon T7 is enough. Oh the size that I want is only about 10 to 20 inch maximum in length, just like a normal picture. Not the super big. Or if you can recommend what camera that's good enough. I heard Canon T7 has 24 MP. Thanks!

I know this might be a silly question but I brought a camera that's shoots 25mp. I have some nice photos I want to enlarge. When I transfer the photos to the PC the dpi is 72
If I want to print a canvas 16x24 ( 40.5 x 61cm) would I make my settings on image size fit to custom and than width 16 and height 24 with a 300dpi to get the best photo print? Would I than do the same method for a smaller photo 7x5

But yeah in all honesty, I took some really amazing photographs with my trusty old APSC Canon 600D from 2010ish that I want to print nowadays because the picture quality from that tiny old sensor still look amazing 14 years later. Don't be afraid to do it yourself guys!
I am in the process (was in the process but corona...) of printing two large-ish (0.7*1.5m or thereabout) panos I shot and a graphic designer and photographer I trust insists on foamcore.
However I am a student still, which means that at some point in the not too distant future I will have to move houses. How do I go about that? Any suggestions?
Great information on printing, As a retired pro hand colour printer its great to see C type printing are still available, do you have your large prints mounted and laminated also at the lab.

Printing large prints can be very expensive. This Printspace won't work for many people because they are not in the UK. So if you do go to large prints, shop around.
my client wants me to print 5600x3733 300 dpi image(18.6"x12.4") at 144"x120" for an event backwall....what should I expect or are there tools or a service to help maximize finished print. it will print on a fabric and will serve as a background for a photo opp at a corp event.
What is your opinion of getting it printed on canvas?

Just a slight correction so folks don't get confused. Diffraction is not a function of sensor size, it is wholly dependent on lenses and is exposed by resolution. All lenses start diffracting from the moment you start stopping them down. Up to a point the resolution/contrast gain overpowers any loss of sharpness due to diffraction. Assuming a perfect lens the rate of diffraction when viewing at 100% is purely due to pixel pitch. On this IMX561 sensor the pixel pitch is identical to the 64MP IMX455 in the Sony A7RIV (3.76um). So use caution, I can tell from personal experience that the IMX561 in this camera and the GFX100S that diffraction starts to be noticeable from f/11 and at f/16 it has noticeably degraded image quality.

Give Adobe Superresolution a chance. It is better than Topaz for high res landscapes.
Not what I’ve found. Being able to tweak settings such as magnification, (custom) height/width & esp. sharpness & noise reduction has given me sharper, cleaner images than PS. Topaz Sharpen AI is so good I only use Gigapixel for significant size changes (and DeNouse right from the off to make sure my images look as clean as I’d like).
For PS I prefer to use a Highpass filter on a duplicate layer then control it either by reducing opacity of the whole layer or using Hide or Reveal layer masks to paint out areas I don’t want sharpened, like when that increases noise or gives artefacts which is my go to for most images I print.
@@kronkite1530 Have a look for the latest video from image processing guru Andy Astbury at TH-cam. He compared some of the available upscale software with interesting results.
If you want to go the cheaper route you can use a 35 mm camera with film and that's the one is 87 pixels

You'll be seeing diffraction at f16, do a simple aperture step test and you'll likely see a loss of sharpness between f11 and 16, it's not massive but you're losing the 100MPx advantage at that point.
What's that camera tho?
What about the exporting process?
Photoshop enlarging sucks. Even with Super resolution. Even the free enlargers on the web are better options. Gigapixel AI kills it though.
How much you printed this?

I just trying to learn here so dont see me as a Goole troll, I live under zero bridge. People say increase the exposure by 20 to 30%. My first thought is this why not just calibrate your monitor correctly. I.E. back of the back light for paper. Then save this as a setting. When you are calibrating your monitor you have values to assign for your intended purpose. Keep two profiles and work from that. That way you just do your work. confirm with the printers I.C.C. profile and fannys ya aunt. No, yes and maybe?

Sorry, but to me just mounting it on thin foam core board and straight to the wall is pretty cheesy. If you want to keep cost down, print on canvas, stretch it yourself on a canvas frame, and buy a nice frame. If you want to save money, buy the ready frames at frame shops, and cut it yourself to size and re-assemble. So many options. This way no cost for mat or glass, and canvas allows you to print at 150ppi (all that's needed for canvas), an will look far more elegant. Of course if you want that modern look, at least mount to something thick. When you have many prints, eventually you need to mount to foam core (using vinyl corners), drop it into "Clearbags" (they sell the corners and clear vinyl bags)...and get yourself an artist display rack. Remember, your art is also furniture for the wall, make it nice. It may look good, but make it look better.
I have printed to A0 with a 12mp image & this was way before things like Topaz what what. Stop thinking you need AI or 100mp to print large. It's the manufacturers & their minions who want to sell you stuff you don't need
It is not complicated. You can blow up any image as much as you like. The ONLY difference resolution makes is to minimum viewing distance. 100MP will give big prints much finer detail when viewed close up, compared to a 12MP big print.
For some this matters, for most it won't. Suggesting otherwise however, would be misleading.
