Yay I am so so glad to see you doing so well! I am happy for you that you are about to undergo your surgery and I hope it goes smoothly. You are so brave to go out shirtless and that you are comfortable enough in your body to do so. Good luck with everything, keep making videos because I love updates on your life!
@Surivara you can't have biological children after being on testosterone for a while in most cases, so yes. i have thought about it, and was aware when i made the decision to transition. in actuality, they are just in the process of being able to make sperm from bone marrow. so the option is not completely gone - however, i am going to adopt children, and have known from a young age that that is what i desire to do.
It's so good to hear from you Sky. You are so inspiring, not only has a trans person, but just has a person... And I really like the video you posted on your vimeo account.
@skylarkeleven touche brother, touche. well said. I'm glad that you don't regret it, as a lot of people tend to after something like this. it means something to you and i guess thats what really matters.
@jjguerra48 nothing - i don't regret it one bit. male seahorses carry the babies - so it's special in that sense. i dont look at it with hatred or anything, its just a part of my body now - as all tattoos are.
@MrImportrans nope, that plus not being able to absorb calcium are two things i have heard via youtube but not with substantial other sources or research (even via the internet). pretty sure it won't be a problem with testosterone though, as my endo was the one who highly recommended i get my ovaries removed as soon as possible due to other hormone issues. i meet with him early july and i'll get back to you on that!
@viewhue i've done some reading ;] dont worry. i have hemp protein and the like, and i get most of my protein from beans and the like. i just don't eat a lot because i get sick when i do which is why being vegan its hard to get enough protein without eating lots. but other than that, its all good. in an overly-proteined society, people oft say vegans dont get enough, when really, omnivores often get too much.
@MCosplay my roommate just buzzed it for me three weeks ago and this is how it's grown back :] my hairline has changed a bit on T, buzz cuts can look masculine or feminine depending on ones face shape. i say do it, it was so liberating and i was surprised how much i dug it after :]
wow you've come so far! i've just started dating a boy who is transgender, and i've been watching your videos for so long and it's so easy for me to understand(this is my second transgender boyfriend) well done and congrats, hope the surgery will go well
@skylarkeleven Oh hahaha thanks for sharing :) I actually... came out to my mom today. She said some pretty wishy washy things likes "you could be, or you couldn't, but its okay cause you're supposed to be questioning things at your age, you won't really know until your hormones settle when you're in your 20s, unless you already know and in that case, you do." Of course then there was the most upsetting news that I wouldn't be able to ever take T because of the complications my family
Oh good! It's actually nice to know you're vegan :) I actually just recently became vegeterian and afterwards I was worried after I started working out more that I wouldn't be getting enough protein, even eating lots of beans and other things, but you seem to be doing perfectly fine
a really good source of protein that provides all the amino acids is a food called "quinoa." Its great for vegans, but i'm sure you already know about it.
Did they talk about the risk of your body not being able to handle testosterone after the hysto at all? I read something about it (or heard it on youtube, I forgot) but I hardly ever hear it again and it's basically the biggest scare for me getting a hysto... that and becoming incontinent :P So yeah...
@MCosplay would make me feel better and I told her yes, and then she suggested a girly haircut I had a couple years ago and then it kind of went downhill from there. It's only the first day, and I know that, but it's really discouraging...
Looking great man. One thing - as a vegan too, just want to point out that it's really not that difficult for you to get enough protein to build muscle (it's kind of one of the myths we want to get rid of..). You just (like any other bodybuilding person) have to eat a lot, of the right things obviously. But seriously - google vegan bodybuilding and check out some diets - it's not hard at all. Lots of cardio however can actually hinder you in building. Do some reading, and good luck:)
@MCosplay has with taking hormones, like birth control. Then after that i was pretty much crying, and really upset because some guys can get away with not taking T, but I'd end up looking like a 12 year old boy or a woman for the rest of my life. She kept asking if I was alright, and so did my siblings, and of course I wasn't. My sister thought my mom had really upset me and insisted that was why I was upset. But haha I havent told my sibs yet so I can't blame her.. But my mom asked if a haircut
If you're interested in building muscle on a vegan diet, you should check out Vegan Bodybuilding and Fitness by Robert Cheeke and Thrive by Brendan Brazier. These books have lots of dietary tips and workouts that help. Good luck!
I love your hand print tattoo. It's honestly one of the coolest tattoo's I've seen.
