As a woman of “a certain age” I’d love to see you create styles with your Mom. Every time you use one of her pieces, I want to see more! Love your style.
Love “shop your closet “ series. It is great to see the recreation pieces are not copy / paste from the inspiration. But still so stylish. So many creative ideas. Thank you
I’m very slowly beginning to get it. I think I’m through with make me shop -shopping haul-in-out videos. Your instructional approach is the best way to “learn how to fish” for ourselves rather than just feeding on lists of what’s in/trending. Thank you.
I look forward to your videos each week. It’s like a conversation with a smart friend who gets me to look at things differently, but in a way that encourages, not judging.
All 3 inspirations look like things real women can really wear, so thanks for that, to start. The 3rd look on you was my favorite. It helps to see the shorts as a transitional piece in this time of year, along with the oversized (but not ridiculous) jacket and again, a top/sweater that real people will wear. Looks great, looks fun, looks practical, looks accessible, all at the same time.
I was just telling my mom how so many of the “fashion bloggers” look the exact same. During Covid I got caught up in it and stopped dressing like me. Getting back to me finally. Thanks for promoting Personal style! Not just “buy what looks good on this flat capsule mood board” :)
I've noticed that too. They all look the same, mostly slim, tanned blonde young women who all wear neutrals from Zara, H&M and a few other main shops. They don't tend to wear colours, vintage clothing or keep clothes for a long time.
I think it is a brilliant idea to use one's own pieces to create a trendy look. Most of the time those pieces would be fitting and long loved, and the new look would be beautiful effortlessly. In the last look though, I feel like, that if you'd go with black denim and a black purse, it would be more precise to the idea. Pretty please, make more of such videos!
Always good to see this approach and philosophy applied, thank you. It would have been useful to see the version of the first look with the cardigan, so you could talk through why it didn't work. I think the assessment and troubleshooting part of the process is the most interesting and illuminating to see. Not to mention that it would lengthen your videos slightly, which I would love as they always leave me wanting more
Each look got better! Love the knotted shirt hack. Thanks for so clearly explaining the reasons for what you do. I can see how having a carefully curated closet really helps us to look stylish and current!
Loved this video Alyssa. Please do more like this. It was so fun and inspiring. My husband thinks I need to watch videos on how to shop less instead of shopping more. So here we go. Ty again.👏👏👏
I really love your "Shop Your Closet" videos. Listening to you analyze the inspo look is very helpful and I often think your version of the look is more aligned with my personal style. Thanks for sharing all these great tips! 😁
I love the shape you created in the button up look. After a lifetime of telling myself that button ups don’t suit me I recently sewed one from an old linen doona cover and I’m in love with it and have used a few of the ways you style them to create different vibes ❤
I had a baby 4 weeks ago and now I'm starting to wear my regular clothes again (I had nothing but maternity basics as a "capsule" and it was fine but boring so I'm very glad to not have to wear them anymore), so I came to your channel again to remind me of how to style from what I already own! Also, if you haven't done Alyssa's virtual classes, I highly recommend them, she's so good at explaining things and answering questions, and there's nothing like seeing it all happen in real time! I actually wish I could be one of the guests to get 1 on 1 time with her!
Love this! That last look is going on tomorrow. I was just gifted my grandmothers suede blazer from the 70s which is a nice boxy shape. Love the inspiration!! Thank you!!
I really enjoy these videos where you recreate inspiration outfits. So fun! My fave looks are the 1st & 3rd outfits! I honestly always prefer your interpretations to the original. You are so inspiring to me! Best part of my sunday morning!! ❤️
Honestly not my favorite styling, but the ability to interpret and the creativity used I did appreciate. I am learning more and more on how to restyle my existing clothes by utilizing my own creativity. That is what I get from your videos. 😁
Love these videos ❤ Taking an idea and making it your own instead of copying it is such a great way to develop your personal style. We don’t need to look like that person to be fashionable. ❤❤❤❤
You have really taught me to look at an outfit over all when you re-create your version. I always thought I had to buy the same pieces . Love these videos ty for teaching me how to look at an outfit for the overall vibe. ❤
Love these looks. I am really thinking about removing any crazy patterns and florals from my wardrobe. The classic with a twist vibe seems more authentic to my personal style.
I'm so happy! Shop your Closet is my favorite content you offer the world. I have learned so much from it. I was also really hoping you would do some fall trend content without shopping. I think you could also still do another fall trend video where you shop for trends in your closet. Like you have done in the past. Maybe next year, if you have access to your full wardrobe during the season. Thanks so much for this. I'm looking forward to the syc event on the 30th! Also, love your haircut! Looks gorgeous 😍
Nicole! Thank you! So excited to have you join on Sat! I miss those videos, thanks for the suggestion I will get on them - have my whole closet now so we’re good to go❤
2023 seems to be the year that we are able to get into that box of stuff we have saved in the , "don't wanna throw yet" box. Anything goes and looks great with changes being discussed here. Love it.
Summer has officially gave way to the Fall season and it starting to feel like it and I pull out some transitioning pieces, so I can step gradually into the vibe. You provided some really easy to accomplish inspiration photos so this is going to be fun to do and see your interpretation. Thanks for sharing and ta ta for now!
I went out to shop yesterday after a no-buy January and February. Walked around the stores and couldn't feel excited, instead I felt an urge to return home and shop my closet instead! I am being influenced by you :)
Just a thought: I think if you had put your hair back in a ponytail in the second look, like the inspiration, it would have lightened up the heaviness on top. What do you think?
OBSESSED with the last look! So so cool and i do think it captured the vibe and silhouette of the inspo. The 2nd one was a bit off for me. I wanted to reach in and tweak your styling haha. I think the jean needed to be cuffed (i know it had its own cuff and maybe wouldnt be long enough anymore), the button up needed to be wrappy much tighter, even could have done some sort of corset belt or Obi belt over it and i would have loved to seen a lighter coloured chunky shoe on top (inverse of the inspo - light top, dark shoe) as it lost the contrast of the inspo. Who knows, my ideas may have looked terrible but i would have loved to see u try 😊
Alyssa I’m doing this with you! I’m shopping my closet for the same looks and I’m looking the results! Thank you thank you thank you! I’m so tempted to buy new clothes this fall and I don’t want to!
Love the shop your closet videos!! They always inspire me. Can't make the live SYC ,but hope to make the next one!! They are so much fun and so helpful! Have a great week, Alyssa
Maybe unrelated to this specific video, but I believe accessories are what makes the outfits more interesting. The other day, I was looking at hairsticks on Etsy, and decided I should get more hairsticks for my buns
All the looks were amazing. It’s so interesting how you are able to match the look with little tweaks from your own clothes and accessories but keep to the idea 😊
I love these type of videos! You're videos are always great! I was wondering if you have done a video about changing your style/wardrobe and how to go about it? I really want to feel more stylish but 3 kids and over a decade of many weight changes my body is completely different and i find myself only feeling comfortable in workout clothes. All the clothes i have are from a decade ago that are too small or don't fit the same and i only end up wearing the same thing over and over, and not in a good way. 😜 I really love the idea of dresses right now, but have zero in my wardrobe, or even any skirts to work with. How do i go about finding my style and making my clothes work when I am at a new phase in life and want to dress for how i feel now and not a decade ago? I would love any thoughts or ideas you have. I really admire your style and the way you communicate style philosophies and ideas. ❤❤
@ajwoolfie Congrats on being a mom to three. Thought I'd share the three starter points I often see repeated by Alyssa and others. You've probably heard them as well! (1) Instagram and Pinboards. When you have some downtime, scroll some fashion inspiration online without analyzing too deeply at the start. Any images that look attractive or aspirational to you. The theory is - once you've gathered a whole bunch of images, some repetition will begin to stand out. You could build a small starter shopping list from these inspirations. (Oh 😯 I like midi-length print dresses, one color sleeveless dresses, blue denim shirts, tailored vests, dark colored jeans, roll-neck knits, huge soft colorful scarfs, neutral tones, bright colors etc.) (2) A shortcut to a new style is identifying a public figure whose personal style you really like and relate to. Then pin some of that person's outfits and see how you might reproduce them for yourself. You may find creating a capsule list of 12-15 new garments from this person's style could get you started. Many creative ladies on this channel thrift new pieces and accessories when their lifestyle is changing. (3) Do you have 4-5 pieces in your closet that you still like, and fit you well. The idea being that you do a search on, for example, 'styling a white puffer vest', 'styling a black trench coat', 'styling a blue & white stripe shirt', 'styling crop denim jeans' etc. Among the images that come up, there may be some ideas to repurpose favorite old pieces that you already own, and would like to keep wearing. /Some people are really organized and create files of favorite looks to use when they don't know what to wear. Above all, have some fun with the process if you can. Edit: 😀 Just thought of (4). Alyssa has some excellent videos on her channel about 'How to Define Your Style in 3-4 Words'. Think you'll love these if you haven't watched already.
Hi! Loving your channel and messages on style and sustainability. Getting ready to travel to Paris. I want to try to peek in on some vintage shops on this trip. Any suggestions or resources I can check out? Appreciate any input! Merci beaucoup❤
Love the looks and your creativity as you make the looks your own. I was wondering if it’s possible to get a ticket for the live event but watch a replay since I have a conflict during the live event. Thx! ❤
Hello Alyssa. I’m new to your channel, but so happy to be here. Can you share with me the brand of your black sling backs? It’s an item I would like to add. :)
I love this "shop your closet" serie but this time from the 3 examples I liked only the 3rd one. To me the first and second outfit weren't mentionable. The 3rd one was very special and stylish and as I love shorts and high knee boots, I would wear this outfit. 🤩
Have you ever had your color palette done, and, if so, what did you learn? Not just the season, but also the intensity (tone, hue)? Do you pick colors of clothing based on what you like or what you feel brings out your best features?
This was fun, thank you Alyssa! Love your hair (mentioned on IG stories too, hi), and I have a question if you don't mind sharing! Wondering where you find these pictures - IG? a certain website? thnx and have a great week! - ilona
I don’t list my items on purpose unless it’s sponsored … most of them are old or secondhand but mostly it’s because I like to provide some breathing room between consuming the content and consumption of that makes sense!
@user-sf7rh1xn5z Am smiling here reading your fashion description of your outfit. I can 'see' 👓 - SUCH fun and SO stylish!! I bet people smile passing you in the street. There's something about a beret 👏
I do enjoy these videos but the first look bears absolutely no resemblance to the photo whatsoever, not in colour, texture, silhouette or mood. Hung together tenuously on a single button and really stretched our imagination.
As a woman of “a certain age” I’d love to see you create styles with your Mom. Every time you use one of her pieces, I want to see more! Love your style.
Thank you for the suggestion!!
I'm in! I'm about to turn 60 and struggling a bit with all the physical changes, rethinking shapes etc.
Oh that’s a great suggestion!
Definitely a great suggestion!!
Yes, that would be an excellent video to see!!
Love “shop your closet “ series.
It is great to see the recreation pieces are not copy / paste from the inspiration. But still so stylish. So many creative ideas. Thank you
My favorite thing is that you dont try to copy the outfit, but rather the style, and it creates a new look that is uniquely you❤❤❤
I’m very slowly beginning to get it. I think I’m through with make me shop -shopping haul-in-out videos. Your instructional approach is the best way to “learn how to fish” for ourselves rather than just feeding on lists of what’s in/trending. Thank you.
Off the bat, can I just say, Alyssa, you have been BLESSED with incredibly awesome hair!!! OK, now let me focus on your video!
Lol thank you!! Hope you enjoyed the video!
Agree! The whole wideo was looking at Alyssa's hair . It distracted me in a good way😊
Was just thinking the same 🎉
I look forward to your videos each week. It’s like a conversation with a smart friend who gets me to look at things differently, but in a way that encourages, not judging.

So glad you liked it!
High-5-ing you on the 2.5 seconds of fall (and spring weather for that matter), Alyssa. Bahaha. Beautifully curated.
I was just telling my mom how so many of the “fashion bloggers” look the exact same. During Covid I got caught up in it and stopped dressing like me. Getting back to me finally. Thanks for promoting Personal style! Not just “buy what looks good on this flat capsule mood board” :)

We would love to know your workout routine…and totally agree with all the hair comments. So lovely. Thanks for showing different size people, Alyssa.
Each look got better! Love the knotted shirt hack. Thanks for so clearly explaining the reasons for what you do. I can see how having a carefully curated closet really helps us to look stylish and current!
Thank you Kathy I’m so glad you liked the explanations in this one!
Loved this video Alyssa. Please do more like this. It was so fun and inspiring. My husband thinks I need to watch videos on how to shop less instead of shopping more. So here we go. Ty again.👏👏👏
Ahh happy to help!
Loved them all, but your take on the Grece Grenham look was my fave!!
Your hair looks amazing in this video. So chic!

My fav fashion week look was Paris, white on top baggy faded jeans black shoes yes, your last look was 👍👍👍
Happy Sunday! Time to play dress up! Thanks Alyssa!

Love these looks. I am really thinking about removing any crazy patterns and florals from my wardrobe. The classic with a twist vibe seems more authentic to my personal style.
Oh, I love the last look and how you recreated it. It's light, it's fun snd the combination of colors is just right.
I love your" shop your closet " videos. I enjoy this tips every time.Thank you so much.🥰
Love your spin on both outfits,Alyssa! Never would have thought of it ❤️
Thank you!
I loved the 1st and 3rd. That red button up is perfect for you.
Thank you for sharing how to look at the creativity of dressing in a way that is new to me. I love ❤️ it
So glad it’s new for you!

Oooo if you pulled your hair back in look 2, it would lighten the top half as well ...🤩
Yesss❤
I LOVE the last look (both inspo and your take on it). Will definitely be recreating it in some way this week
Omg your hair looks spectacular 😍
I went out to shop yesterday after a no-buy January and February. Walked around the stores and couldn't feel excited, instead I felt an urge to return home and shop my closet instead! I am being influenced by you :)
Fun video! Love Grece's style too!
I love this new hair!!! You look great ❤
Love these postings, interpretation of a look with what we have at home❤
Just a thought: I think if you had put your hair back in a ponytail in the second look, like the inspiration, it would have lightened up the heaviness on top. What do you think?
I think so!! I thought of this too afterwards!
Wonderful inspirational video, Alyssa. Many thanks ❤ (red looks gorgeous on you).
Thank you!
Really love the final look, so creative. Already have my outfits ready for the workshop. Love these shop your closet videos.
Ooooh so excited to see what you put together for the workshop!

Yay! Love to hear it!

Re-dig it!❤
Fantastic video! Very inspiring ❤
Alyssa "THE HAIR" Beltempo 😍😍😍
Love your video content!! Thank you!!
Love this! I especially love the jeans you wore with the red shirt! Can you please share the brand and fit/style?
I love these type of videos! You're videos are always great!

The bouncing of your hair! Beautiful! Masha Allah!
I love the low neckline henley you’re wearing in the start of the video. Who makes it?
Love the looks and your creativity as you make the looks your own. I was wondering if it’s possible to get a ticket for the live event but watch a replay since I have a conflict during the live event. Thx! ❤
Yes, I am wondering the same thing!

I love your Loewe puzzle bag. What size is it? Mini, Small or Medium? Thank you
Brava Alyssa! Perché non rifai un video mostrando i vari modi che tu usi per indossare il tuo bellissimo foulard di seta quadrato?
I love these videos!
Did you get your hair cut? It looks really good!
Love your red shirt! Where can I find one?
It’s men’s vintage Bill Blass!
@@AlyssaBeltempo Thank you!
Loved it 🎉
great!
Have you ever had your color palette done, and, if so, what did you learn? Not just the season, but also the intensity (tone, hue)? Do you pick colors of clothing based on what you like or what you feel brings out your best features?
❤ lovely
Your convertible backpack link hasn’t worked for a while. Guessing no longer available. Can you update with similar
Shoot! So sorry I will update it is still available!
This was fun, thank you Alyssa! Love your hair (mentioned on IG stories too, hi), and I have a question if you don't mind sharing! Wondering where you find these pictures - IG? a certain website? thnx and have a great week! - ilona
you are such an elegant and beautiful woman
It would be helpful if would list all the items you showcase in your outfits. Even if you listed them on other videos.
I don’t list my items on purpose unless it’s sponsored … most of them are old or secondhand but mostly it’s because I like to provide some breathing room between consuming the content and consumption of that makes sense!
What was the name/account of the Danish woman that you suggested we follow?
@kxross Alyssa prints her first name as Grece. The surname is something like Ghannon, Ghanen .....
@user-sf7rh1xn5z Am smiling here reading your fashion description of your outfit. I can 'see' 👓 - SUCH fun and SO stylish!! I bet people smile passing you in the street. There's something about a beret 👏
It’s just… if it’s cool enough for a jacket, I’m not wearing shorts with it. Maybe if I was way younger 😄
I wish girl 1 would have had a different color purse than black
I like Grace's fall look. Her summer look was way to naked for me
Love us hair
You look thinner?
I have far too many clothes!!! I have been shopping my closet much better...
Come on, there is no way you are “inspired” by that first woman and her outfit.
I do enjoy these videos but the first look bears absolutely no resemblance to the photo whatsoever, not in colour, texture, silhouette or mood. Hung together tenuously on a single button and really stretched our imagination.
