WAX WAX WAX. Ishod is a crazy skater, but his grinds are boosted by the crazy amount of wax he uses if you watch all his attempts for this clip when he fell and tried to step off his board he had so much wax on that ledge his foot went forward and slipped like he was on ice
Yeah, wax. I saw the video of him not land it at the same spot. As soon as his shoe touched the wall it was like he'd stepped on a block of butter in a puddle of grease on a block of ice. His leg shot out from under him like it was a cartoon. That's how much wax there is.
I’ve heard in many interviews with pros that they love overwaxed ledges. I guess since they’re so used to sliding at a fast pace that they can easily adjust and keep balance to the point where all they’ll have to mainly focus on is their flip/shuvs in or out or a clean pop out.
@op91 Its the other way round, a smoother surface makes holding your balance easier because you're not having to shift your weight to react to bumps and friction. The wax fills in all the cracks and creates a layer between the hard surfaces, removing friction in the same way that grease does for bearings. The downside being that you're then spending as much time waxing as skating, on top of buying it and carrying it with you, and it makes it more difficult to get into the slide without the board slipping. Also, increase forward momentum makes it easier to stay upright, similar to how a bike is easier to balance when moving than it is to balance stationary.
I feel like having that legit pop out along with nollie fs 180 solid to helps a ton, it helped me a little bit still struggle with this trick rarley ever goto regs but just haven't spent enough time on ledges
Fs nose is my favorite trick. The real “technique” to coming out forward is to make sure your non- leading hand is hovering around your front knee when you pop. You can see how Ishod rolls up and his left hand is way ahead of his right knee. The other tips are useless. If you don’t pop from that position your body will always spin. Reverse it for regular stance, your right hand should be almost touching your left knee when, and as you pop and jump.
Of course it’s all in the shoulders. When you do yours, your back is completely turned. You have to just turn your hips, if your shoulders are still parallel with the ledge, it’s much easier to come out regular
Its easy, both ways are easy. Letting the board spin the opposite way to the way you turn your body is also easy (and heaps fun). Just gotta practice i guess, but its seriously easy, I've never even questioned it.
When you roll up to the obstacle come at an angle. Once you lock into the trick look over your shoulder. Lean into he nose to lock in. Once you get to the end of the obstacle you will automatically come out regular. Same method of frontside boardslide By the way if you want to know where this spots located: pier 27 san francisco, ca
Bros got a phd in yappology. This one simple trick localjoe doesn't want you to know will keep you from overthinking like a goober. Want to front nose reg? Look under your arm past your nose at the ledge and ground infront of you. Fakie you can look straight down. Thats it. Same as frontboard. Same as rocknroll vs front rock. Look where you want to go, the body will follow without the quantum physics equations mid trick.
His lower body is pointed toward the ledge and his shoulders are pointed to the landing zone, all he has to do at that point is rotate his hips. Kind of an easier way to look at it
I’m actually surprised people think either way is harder, by the time I had a consistent slide messing up getting out was basically impossible, although on a ledge like this your dealing with a legit drop
The length and height are well, but anyone should be able to come out of a nose slide (sliding reg or front side), and depart reg or fakie. It's a nose slide, stop making it more then what it is. If you can't come in and go out both ways, hang it up, it's not for you.
I see it as him throwing his base weight the other way even though he's locked in crossbody It's all weight distribution and knowing that you have to rotate against what you naturally want to do
Bro its a frontside board ur just on the nose. If your weight gets too far over your back foot, you'll drop off the feature. Thats how its different from a front board.
He was actually trying to go to fakie, but just couldn't swing it around. hi Internet You mad Bros? 😅 Any other fake explanations in the comment section?
Its more natural for me to came out regular, coming out fakie seems really unnatural 😅 depends on the person i guess...no I'm not saying i have Ishod's skating skill, not even quarter of it 😅
This is probably the easiest trick i can do on a ledge. I can pop out regular and fakie and even slide with one foot. I can barely even slide a backside noseslide though 😡
I’ve been saying it forever, frontside nose slides to fakie are wack. Doesn’t matter if u do a flip trick out of it, still rather see someone just do the slide & come out regular. It’s the equivalent of seeing someone do a front board and slowly rotating 180 while they slide until finally dropping out of it fakie. Just shows a lack of control of your trick and clearly not something you wanted to do. When Felipe Mota did that crazy long front nose on the same ledge Torrey back tailed I was so disappointed when he dropped out fakie. He was on that ledge chillin and could’ve came out either way
This dude the epitome of overthinking everything 🤦🏼♂️ There is exactly 1 way to learn how to do fs noseslides back to regular, 1 way.. And its not watching this guy with his hacks. It’s to go out and do frontside noseslides every single time you skate! Just as with every damn trick
Ishod is a freak of nature. Dude holds his grinds and slides like he's been doing it since birth
WAX WAX WAX. Ishod is a crazy skater, but his grinds are boosted by the crazy amount of wax he uses if you watch all his attempts for this clip when he fell and tried to step off his board he had so much wax on that ledge his foot went forward and slipped like he was on ice
@@alexmurphy4697 yeah a lot of pros wax the hell out of everything

That back foot though 🤯
The droppel-dangler
The back foot also provides a little leverage to stop your shoulders from rotating watch him flex it to reverse momentum
@@Quitting-smoking-is-awesome-TV go back and study how Moses Itkonen did his....🔥🔥🔥
Yeah I noticed that. It's barely on the board if at all. That's probably what helps him rotate back to regular as well.
Also notice how he was making a seagull arm movement while staring down seals on the dock.
Explain
What an epic short for real joe. Love how you added in the clips of you doing it too. Keep it up homie!
Butterrrrr aff 🧈
Those bolts slamming in sync are sexxyyy
Love the breakdown. More please
counter rotate your upper body to the way your board is going to rotate
I was about to say, it isn’t no simple hack dude it’s just practice
Come at an diagonal
Good short @localjoe ! this f nose reg out is so smooth Ishod masterlevel
I feel like having that legit pop out along with nollie fs 180 solid to helps a ton, it helped me a little bit still struggle with this trick rarley ever goto regs but just haven't spent enough time on ledges
I’ll have to try that, popping out seems best that way, back to reg is way easier to me, never much tried the other way.

this is another useless tip in the bunch, everyone skates a little different, fs nose is my fav too but the description ain’t how i do it
And notice how the short loops back around almost perfectly. Nice work narrator. 👍😂
🎶It's all in the feet, it's all in the feet...🎶
hes just motherfucking talented. intrinsic. supernatural. ethereal. timeless. nonlinear. ancient.
Bro went full thesaurus 😮

Also helps to have insane balance and a long ledge.
When you roll up to the obstacle come at an angle.
Once you lock into the trick look over your shoulder.
Lean into he nose to lock in.
Once you get to the end of the obstacle you will automatically come out regular.
Same method of frontside boardslide

Ishod’s athleticism vs your athleticism is the difference
Over the stops on the bottom ledge what a badass
Bro out here acting like front nose to regular is hard lmfao.
Because it is very hard when you actually have to slide far. I’m sure you feel this way after doing one on a curb and thinking it’s the same
when you’re doing it fakie, yeh lmao
@milessmiles99 he isn't though.
@@oskarskates is front nose on a curb even possible?
@oskarskates probably need some super lows and tiny wheels lol.

Always remember whichever way your shoulders are going/ facing is where your body is going to go.
Unpopular opinion: fs noseslide to regular is easer than to fakie
i came to the comments to say the same thing; apparently it’s not so unpopular based on a lot of the other comments as well
By the time I figured out how to slide good it was almost impossible to mess up getting out either way unless it’s a challenging ledge
For some yes for some no. One thing is for sure, it looks like dog 💩 when u go fakie instead of back to normal stance
That back foot placement is crazy
Dude is buttery 🥞🧈🍿
you can tell hes doing exactly what ur talking about by his back foot too imo
😂 do you really think he’s actually thinking I have got to move my hips and my arms like this and like that?
No he's not thinking about it but he's explaining how he's doing it. But yea dude knows the position he has to be in obviously. Smh
When you sit in the ledge longer you can pop out to regular easier
That back foot steez
Bro is a different breed
His shoes are 🔥
I’m actually surprised people think either way is harder, by the time I had a consistent slide messing up getting out was basically impossible, although on a ledge like this your dealing with a legit drop
Thats why i never do tricks going to fakie, because its much easier...this trick is pure love and so cool
Aye first of all.. those ledges are right next to pier 7 in s.f. and they are huge..!!
He’s also coming off from a higher ledge, he has time to go back to front
From the time he popped his foot didn't touch the board until he was ready to get off
I can't believe this video hit haha. That's great 😅
He doesn’t pop. He just does it. Ishod always been different.
Notice how Ishod is jumping twice as high as you

Dude front noseslide fakie were always way harder for me
For real going back regular is probably the easier way
Same, I’ve never even imagined going to fakie w/ this, maybe it is easier, but to make it look proper seems very difficult with that momentum.
Stop the cap
Right arm to the sky and eyes looking the rail under right arm
I hate that I love this trick
Rolling out fake always felt more odd to me. I had to practice rolling out fake much more than rolling out regular.
I see it as him throwing his base weight the other way even though he's locked in crossbody
It's all weight distribution and knowing that you have to rotate against what you naturally want to do
i always found it easier to pop out regular lol
Practice. That's how.
also notice how its pretty much a one footer
Bro its a frontside board ur just on the nose. If your weight gets too far over your back foot, you'll drop off the feature. Thats how its different from a front board.
the same way people go to refular from front board
I can only do this back to regular. Going to fakie just doesn’t feel comfortable.
That's easy. That's the only way I know how to do it. Fakie is harder to me
I cannot pop out of front nose slides to fakie. Always back to regular.
He was actually trying to go to fakie, but just couldn't swing it around.
hi Internet
You mad Bros?
😅
Any other fake explanations in the comment section?
Nose slides lowkey easy tho
Very nice 😊😅😂
He’s also just sliding on one foot
The real question is did he do that with his back foot like that on purpose??? 🤔
Its more natural for me to came out regular, coming out fakie seems really unnatural 😅 depends on the person i guess...no I'm not saying i have Ishod's skating skill, not even quarter of it 😅

I call it body language
Bro I can’t even do them to fakie. Regular every time
Easy it’s all in the shoulders
I cant even back slide anything
It is way harder to come out fayke
Its harder for me to go to fakie
Ummm its really not hard to noseslide to regular, its pretty basic
Why is he skating in a 400$ pair of shoes 😐
How you gunna ignore his back foot bruh? lol try that standing still lol
i cant come out of em fakie lol
All in the toe
The foot hang is so technical to
Ishod dude?
