Outstanding Louie! I'm trying but haven't yet figured out all the time changes. For a treat listen to Allan Holdsworth in Hamburg with Virgil and Jimmy Haslip. I became fascinated with the 20 minutes. Your fills, so technical, creative, and well fitting. Great use of silence too, most fusion drummers forget about this aspect!
I've listened to about 20 versions of this song and Louie you've got possibly the best. Really. It flows. It's not all chopped up like Wackerman. Virgil has a good interpretation too and a couple others. This is a tricky one to play to and I still haven't found a transcription but at this point don't really need it.
Outstanding playing and flair Louie and such great taste. This song is just otherworldly and has a pretty interesting story. It was first drummed by Gary Husband and actually had vocals! You can find it on YT.
Amazing man! Question. How do you feel/count this tune??? It seems the only chart availible online of this is a transcription of Jeff Berlins solo which starts the form off with a bar of 7 (apparently writen by him). Seems to me it throws the groove out of wack especially, to me personally, works really well in 4/4 with a few odd bars at the end of each phrase. What you think? Thanks!
The biggest mistake I made for my drums was buying Zildjian K's instead of Sabian HHX cymbals, K's are so overrated, those Sabians sound awesome! great playing!
Just so good. You've gone straight to the top Louis. Totally, 100% within the historic top echelon of players.
I LOVE the way you just stop at the 1:54 mark and also the rolling pattern that follows. Almost like a wave or storm. Fantastic!!
Fantastic pocket in the crescendo snare singles at 2:22 also!!
Precision, power, feel. Top work!
absolutely amazing louis! fabulous playing!
Great playing!!!
Very well done.

That was wild!! Every one has their influences. Doesn't mean they are a clone. Wonderful playing.
