Still by FAR, one of the BEST Xterra Videos on all of youtube. I have contributed to over 25 + views and still watch this video when im feeling down. Thanks for putting this all together. Adam Xterra 08 OR (stick) with 2.5 in calmini lift and 33s
Unbelievable!!! I just bought a 2003 Xterra for my wife...However after seeing this it makes me think that it deserves better than a trip to Wal-mart and soccer once a wek!!!!
lol, I never saw this version. This was such a good trip. I love the mud pouring from andrew's X, then not to mention, the gratuitious mudgirl shot at the end.
i have a 2001 Xterra completely stock. i love the way it rides on the road as well as off road. i out crawled a 2005 tacoma and a 1989 landcruiser. fun times.
actually, yes, good guess. clears out branches and even prevents heavy branches or brush from "slapping" your windshield when you are in thick forest. i heard it can break your windshield if its hard enough.
Always wondered how they would do. Have an '02 Supercharged 5spd Xterra with Winterforce 265/75/16s from the dealer. Got it because the engine is almost identical to my old Z so I could work on it easy. Best snow vehicle I've owned. Even better than the wife's Subaru Legacy. Once took a hill after the county plow truck with chains slid off.
Here, 16 years later, keeping this video alive. Missing my Xterra and all the adventures we went on for over a decade before the head gasket went kaput.
@dhs012 I never said the GC SRT8 is for off road use. I know people that own GC and Wrangler's and they seem to lack in reliability. The newer Jeeps might be better built compared to the older models; I also think it depends on how you treat them. Lastly that was my personal opinion.
I took my X out for the first time yesterday... It's completely stock. Lol when we hit the trail my X was one of the few that never gave me any trouble! Not once! All these lifted rigs with air lockers and self levelling suspension... Psht... Don't waste your money, a stock xterra will do it all and do it better! Mods to come though!
the video is sick. im working on making my 09 xterra a beast. quick question. it sounds like the song is by system of the down, whats the name of the song.
Neat video. Mine does x-lent off road; better in Moab than a Rubicon that was following me (I have only a 2" lift, full skids, front/rear receivers for my winch; no locker. 185's). I traded my 2008 jk w/ rear locker for the X which I then lifted the 2". Honest, my x does better and tons moer power!
Steveio, why do you say the 2nd gen Xterra isn't a real Xterra? I drive an '05 and it has plenty of heart. Survived a $10,000 lightning strike and plenty of off-roading adventures. If they aren't "real" Xterras, why would you call them Xterra 2.0, or Xterra anything? In all actuality, they are Xterra 2.0. And, you can add a B/L along with an S/L to get more lift.
@JohnnyBoyCali: I also have 2 '06 Xterras and only one had the fuel sending issues and Nissan will replace it free of charge while the recall is active. So you need to get it to them ASAP. As for the other issues, I don't have them myself and neither do any of my friends that have '05-'08 Xterra's but it would be good to check into those and maybe try a different Nissan dealer...
nice rigs but sorry those snorkels look pretty goofy, why didnt the manufacturer just make them reach up to the roofline instead of making them stop halfway?...looks like they can get snagged on a branch and snap off
@JohnnyBoyCali Maybe it's back up: My 'o8 w/ 80k and a fair amount of serious off-road (including 2 "difficults" in Moab and 200 miles of horrible teeth jarring roads in Death Vallye has given me NO mechanical problems or hardware problems. Also have been towing a 4K lb travel trailer hundreds of miles. Love engine and tranny!
i have one too an 02 with 97,002 and the miles aint shit for a nissan i love the xterra but one thing they waste so much gas its not funny but i love it . i havent seen a toyota tacoma do something likethe xterra they cant compite well write back people
Just my personal opinion, but I think Xterras are the last of real off road capable SUV's, I mean sure the Grand Cherokee SRT8 is cool, but WTF? The FJ Cruiser, I'm pretty sure that's all looks, along with the old H2's and H3's. At least new vehicles from the factory anyhow.
@bwcrackhead Solid axles rock. My Xterra was the shits in snow and trails. A TJ at half the cost far outperformed the Nissan. Only good Nissan off road from stock is the Patrol.
@OkState01 Dude, I'm sorry, but offroad, in stock form a 2008 XTerra vs. a 2008 Wrangler Rubicon, the Rubicon wins handsdown. Don't get me wrong, the XTerra is a great truck and very stable off road, and I totally support them, but you can't compare both trucks in stock form. Don't believe everything you read from Motor Trend.
@radioman321 phsss X's have next to nothing in the flex department making it a terrible offroader.....here in colorado my lifted 94 1500 (271,000) chevy gets tired of rescuing torists in iddy biddy suvs haha.....get a trail rig. better suited for the snow packed streets.
@OkState01 I have an 06 xterra and they suck. The fuel sending unit went out after only about 40k miles and nissan wouldnt replace it. In addition the ABS system makes these horrible snapping and craking sounds which Nissan said was normal. Get used to replacing the power window motors, they're cheap and wear out fast. I've had other problems but dont feel like rambling. Nissan quality has gone way down the drain.
i love my 08 xterra. im looking to get some sweet front ends from shrockworksdotcom and get some skid plates so i can play rough without hurtin my baby. lol.
I have a stock 04xterra! Love this video! Handles swiftly on road and mountains
Still by FAR, one of the BEST Xterra Videos on all of youtube. I have contributed to over 25 + views and still watch this video when im feeling down. Thanks for putting this all together. Adam Xterra 08 OR (stick) with 2.5 in calmini lift and 33s
A lot of people under estimate a Xterra's off road capabilities.
Unbelievable!!!
I just bought a 2003 Xterra for my wife...However after seeing this it makes me think that it deserves better than a trip to Wal-mart and soccer once a wek!!!!
love my 2005 Xterra 💪💪💪💪💪
This is literally the best Xterra offroading video made...thus far..
i found out that the "off-road" version of the new gen xterras have a locking diff for the rear. that would be nice to have...
lol, I never saw this version. This was such a good trip. I love the mud pouring from andrew's X, then not to mention, the gratuitious mudgirl shot at the end.
this video never gets old for me!
holy shit, me from ten year ago
the black on is my fav, awesome vid we have an xterra but its not 4x4 so :P cant really do much with it and its got 200000 miles
i have a 2001 Xterra completely stock. i love the way it rides on the road as well as off road. i out crawled a 2005 tacoma and a 1989 landcruiser. fun times.
I miss the days of Gen 1 Xterra events they're mostly gone now.
actually, yes, good guess.
clears out branches and even prevents heavy branches or brush from "slapping" your windshield when you are in thick forest. i heard it can break your windshield if its hard enough.

Great beginning and an even better ending! ;)
I have a 2006 xterra and this video makes me wanna go off-roading with it
That was a damn sweet vid. Sweet looking rides.
Here, 16 years later, keeping this video alive. Missing my Xterra and all the adventures we went on for over a decade before the head gasket went kaput.
How many miles when head gasket blew?
i guess this is why the Virginia International Raceway uses only xterras on their offroad course
Good footage and great music!! BADASS!!!
@dhs012 I never said the GC SRT8 is for off road use. I know people that own GC and Wrangler's and they seem to lack in reliability. The newer Jeeps might be better built compared to the older models; I also think it depends on how you treat them. Lastly that was my personal opinion.
sweet! i drive a f150 and still think these Xterras are mighty sexy
awesome video! where was the trail?
Got 222k on my X, going for 300!
I took my X out for the first time yesterday... It's completely stock. Lol when we hit the trail my X was one of the few that never gave me any trouble! Not once! Xterra's are great offroad....... So long as you do a SAS

😐makes me wish I had lockers and bigger tires on mine. this looks amazing special if you go with a bunch of xterra buds and camp out in the woods
because these are what they are built for.

I put a 4 cylinder Yanmar diesel engine in my Xterra and get more power.
also put ford 10.5 axles on it front and back with 44's.
