How can you say that God is "hugging you" when this music was not made by God? Even if God _had_ made it, what makes you think God wants to hug you? When Jesus wrote to the churches, He didn't "send hugs", I wrote REBUKE. Because there was sin in those churches. Your idea of a warm, soft, fuzzy God who just wants to hug everyone is a false god. It's an idol. It has nothing to do with the God of the Bible.
The true God is terrifying, severe, and greatly to be feared! The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. I don't sense any fear in you. You're putting words into God's mouth - saying that He wants to give you a hug. When did God say that? How do you know He doesn't want to rebuke you instead? The Scripture says that God disciplines those He loves. You are seeking "comfort" but what you should be seeking is TRUTH. How does God really feel about you? Is there any sin in your life? Do you feel guilty about anything? Then get on your knees and weep, in the fear of God!

Nowhere in the New Testament did Jesus or the Apostles ever preach the "love of God". That is a Satanic ministry, and not part of the Gospel message. God's WRATH is upon sinners and they remain His enemies unless they repent and find salvation through Jesus.
There may be times when the Lord shows His love toward saved individuals, but that's unlikely to happen through a general TH-cam video watched by millions of people. And certainly not _this_ ungodly music. This music is creepy, sad, dark, and ambiguous. It's the exact opposite of the Spirit of God. The Spirit of the Lord is bright, joyful, triumphant, sober, sincere, and humble. The Spirit of God does not make dark, creepy "nightclub" style videos in the name of God.
@@Scripture-Man I feel so sad for you. I hope you find the warm fuzzy love from God through Jesus Christ. It is true the Old Testament God was full of wrath for the sinful, but isn't that why Jesus died? The biblical definition of fear is not afraid, more reverence. There is nothing wrong with holding God in a place of both respect and nearness. You may not personally like this music style but I guarantee Elevation has pointed more people to Christ than you will ever know. We are all different parts of the Body and have different roles, just pray that the love of Jesus overshadows any worldlyness that might be perceived in their videos. 🤗
@@Scripture-Man you don't know what my walk with Christ is like. I've been on my face, in a pool of my own tears many times, and I know I will be again when He brings me there. I also know the overwhelming love when I sense His presence. The Bible doesn't say that God does love, it says He IS love. Does discipline come with that love? Of course it does and I fully expect for God to do so when I sin, but I know that He will be there to pick up the pieces and put me back together the way He wants, as long as I trust Him and not get in the way of what He is doing. When you trust and obey God, He blesses that.
As for this song, they are simply stating that there is nothing better than the presence of God. What's wrong with that?

I am a widow who was married for nearly 25 years and its been years since he has been gone and I don't know how to date and scared of trusting just want to feel safe and His Holy Spirit gives me that safety. What are you talking about. It's MUSIC. Music doesn't "take people into intimacy" with God! The idea that people can have some kind of "experience of God" through music is strange, new-age mysticism, and completely unspiritual. We have intimacy with God through the HOLY SPIRIT. If you need music to feel close to God, there's a pretty good chance you're not His child and don't have spiritual fellowship with Him. That is certainly true of Elevation Church, who preach a false gospel - that you can be saved without obeying Jesus! No you cannot. Read the Bible!

Was having an anxiety attack...then this song came on...I fell more and more at peace with each line. By the end, I could feel the arms of God around me and my anxiety was gone. This song touches me to the core each time I hear it. Amazing. Thank you for being a vessel of Christ.

Ese Abigail thank you. I’m doing much better, but it’s still hard when the thoughts of her come back. I’ve moved past it and know thinking on these things get me nowhere. For me I think it’s just the way it happened and how they went about it, was so petty. On top of it they are believers also. I know we are not perfect so we are bound to make mistakes or hurt others, but we are called to forgive and reconcile. As Christians we are held to higher standards than the world. That’s the part that irks me.

Thank you Josh! I’m currently in the mountains and all that’s on my mind is God’s love for me. Being in his creation, remind me of how great he is. His handy work is in creation and my life. It’s interesting you said what you said cause after a challenging question my cousin asked me last weekend of, “Do you want to be defined”, I have seen how I have put on the problems of others, instead of finding who I am. I know my identity is rooting in Christ Jesus, but when I am constantly consumed by others problems, I forget who I am: A child of God. 2020 has been a year of refocusing in my life and I am grateful for what God is doing in my life. I’ve never been so emotionally impacted by a worship song. This is so beautiful. I stumbled upon this today and broke down in tears. I wish everyone could experience this peace and joy and fulfilment that life in Christ brings!!

I’m 16 years old. My parents had my older brother and I as teens and they didn’t work out so they split. My mom moved my brother and I 13 hours away with the rest of her family. We grew up in a bad environment on many different levels. She always wanted best for us but it wasn’t easy to keep us away from evil. I have always had a desire for God but I didn’t know where to start. My father is an amazing man of God and I wished to live with him for so long.
I’ve been through abuse of every kind, and I started to grow with the comfortability of pain. I knew pain better than happiness. Long story short I moved with my father and he and my stepmom broke through me and rebooted my messed up abused mind. I was like a broken puzzle, God worked in me and healed me. It was the best thing I’ve ever done. God has moved through me and I’ve been able to hear his voice in the last 3 years. I say all this to show God can help and fix the broken. Even when life feels hopeless and painful.
God has plans to prosper us and not harm us, everything works together for our good:)
