What are your predictions for the Nonfiction November challenges?! ⬇
aspiration or inspiration
Nature or natural
Impossible to guess! But would love some clues 👀
I don't know, but I hope it can link up with historathon in some way. I'll find a way to make it work.
Travel related
Oh yes, I tend to reread my favorite books during the exact months in which I read them originally. It's because I commit to memory not just the book but the whole experience, including the weather!
My TBR is getting out of hand but I still can't wait for non fiction November!
This should be my life slogan 🤣
Just so everyone knows, historathon will be happening at the same time as nonfiction November. From Oct-Dec, the challenge is to read as much nonfiction history as you wish, about whatever topics and parts of the world you want, from 1820-present. It's hosted by people like Revenant Reads, Passage of Time, Read by Fred, and John David. You may want to read some history as part of Nonfiction November.
Great TBR! I have regrets of clover on my tbr pile as well as Malala and Moon on my extended wishlist- didn’t know they were making the movie- better bump that one up! Thanks!
I really need to get to the collected regrets of clover!
This will be my first nonfiction November and I can’t wait!! 🤩
Have fun in your first nonfiction November! Do you know about historathon? It's a history reading challenge. In October-December, you read however much you want on whatever topics you want, on whatever parts of the world you want, having to do with history 1820-present. If that sounds good, maybe that could mix into your nonfiction reading a little bit. It's hosted by people like Passage of Time. youtube.com/@passageoftime8561?si=VuJmr46HbRw7glXk
Can't wait for Killers of the Flower Moon movie!
Consider putting a historical fiction on your list: The Last Life Boat
I Am Malala is a great memoir! I can’t believe you’ve never read it, I hope to hear a review 😊
Currently reading some Nancy Drew for spooky season!
Im reading a book about the 3 cuban race wars of the 1800s. Then im reading the soul of an octopus🐙. Thanks for the tip❤
You should absolutely add "The Deadly Whisper" by Marie Dalgety to your TBR. It's like an Agatha Christie type mystery series set in an alternative history fictional Pacific Island with a young female detective who has a pet moa she rides around on. Brilliant book 💖
Enjoy your reading! 🥰
I am looking forward to Nonfiction November! Definitely give yourself grace throughout this month. As for my October reading, I am participating in Victober and ready to start my Victorian reading. I am also just beginning Of Time and Turtles, which I hope to enjoy as much as you did.
You look lovely in those colours. Love your non fiction recommendations - can’t wait, and I love reading history too.😊
My nonfic prompt text would be travel related since you have been traveling a bit
I have read The Collected Regrets of Clover. It is a special book.
Excited for NFN! Would love to see you drop clues as to the categories! I have a Goodreads category just for NFN books that I add to all year, so I’m raring to go!
Thank you for these out-of-the-box recommendations, Olive! I read I am Malala a few years back and I still remember some passages vividly (which, unfortunately, doesn't happen all too often...). 🍁
I have been having a nonfiction year this year so am extra excited for November!
I've read all six books in the IQ series. So good! His characters aren't like any others & location is so well described.
The last few years I have been participating in Victober, but this year I got a Kindle and am trying KU. I don't have victorian novels. I also am inspired to read some Dark Academia.
Im going to read Killer of the Flower Moon. I can’t wait to go see Leo in the movie in 3 weeks, so I’m going to read it now.
Thanks for recommending IQ and the collected regrets of clover. I have been meaning to read IQ for a while and the other book looks really good too.
When a book moves me I do tend to associate it with the time of year I read it. Not every book does this but some just become synonymous with certain times. I’m excited for non fiction November too. Hmm, guesses for challenges.....animals, space, earth, colors. October will be #victober plus dark academia plus spooky for me😊. Have a great week💕
Loved Killers of the Flowermoon! My fiancee and I are also highly anticipating the movie. The teaser trailers we've seen so far have been great and I've heard good things about how Scorsese wanted to represent and honor that part of history with Osage people
Definitely must get IQ!!
Ohh I have Malala saved for non fiction November this year!
I saw The Collected Regrets of Clover in the library, the title and cover spoke to me. I didn’t even know death doulas exist, I’m curious to hear your review!
IQ sounds interesting and I am looking forward to your review! Obviously I am gearing up gor NFN myself and trying to decide which books to hold onto until next month
Ahh, I can't wait for Non-Fiction November!! Prediction: Since you mentioned watching Killers of the Flower Moon, maybe books to movies? American Prometheus (Oppenheimer) has been trending. Can't wait to see what you pick!
I recently started What the Dead Know by Barbara Butcher and it's great so far.
I love your tshirt, where did you purchase? I love NFN, thanks for all the great content!
I think I got it from Kohl's last year?
I have read The Collected Regrets of Clover. It is my favorite fiction book of the year so far. I read it and I was telling my therapist about it. She and I decided to read it together. It is a very thoughtful written novel.
My predictions are:
Color
Harbor
Change
Periodic
IQ looks interesting.
So excited for Nonfiction November! I'm participating in Victober so reading a bunch of Victorian works this month. IQ sounds very interesting and I've never heard of it. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts at the end of the month.
Olive, I underestand you work at North End Candles. I get their newsletter and the most recent one, said they had to move to new studios!! So I can understand why your life is all upside down for now. Hope your job is still there and that you have all settled into your new home. In the meantime I am looking forward to Non Fiction November this year!!
I don't work there currently, I just helped out for a season a couple of years ago. That's so sweet of you to remember that!
I'm so excited for Non Fiction November! I'm happy to lend a hand if it would be helpful to pass a task or two onto someone else, let me know. Also, I love your tshirt!
My choice for non-fiction November is Alfie and Me; What an Owl Knows, What Humans Believe.
Oh, I'll be excited to hear what you think of that one! You might also want to look into Jennifer Ackerman's latest release on owls if you haven't read that one yet. I'll be talking about it in my next wrap up.
I do Victober in October but I already have books lined up for nonfiction Nov. Predictions: Life and death or sea and sky?
I'm rereading Lord of the rings this month
I read killers of the flower moon, the subject is important, but the read was not great
Hi Olive, you look like you’ve lost some weight. Hope you’re doing okay! asking because you said you were overwhelmed.
Take care xx
You're sweet to worry, but I'm fine! I've been working on getting in shape for around the last 18 months, so it's all intentional.
